I read today in my Mickey Monitor magazine I get in the mail that it took 1,800 tons of steel to make Expedition Everest's structure!!

Quote from Unofficial Guide of WDW - "There are three other 'hidden' characters in Walt Disney World, though much rarer: Minnies, Goofys and Donalds. "

Not sure if your source is current or not, but there are a few others:

Hidden Tink (sorry to TheIncredibles who thought the Poly had the only one.)
at BTMRR from allears (I haven't seen this one, so I can't vouch as to whether it still exists):

There may be others, but these are the only ones that I know of. The last 2 were both there when we went in October, so they are fairly current.

I could have thought that they also had one on the strip in Las Vegas. We went 8 years ago, but i am pretty sure there is one there. I think we paid $5.00 to go in and sample.

I have been there as well. I haven't been for several years, so mabe it's gone now?

It is now tomorrow and I'm still reading. I keep telling myself....Lisa close the laptop and go to bed, but I keep saying...."Ok..in a minute"

Goodnite all. I look forward to more trivia later in the day. :grouphug:

There is a key hidden under the mat below the ticket window just as the note in the window says - at MGM Muppets 3-D.

Per one of the many info channels on TV

It is rumored that the spires on Cinderella's Castle can be removed during hurricanes, this is false, they are a permanent part of the structure.

There is a cat hidden in the Osborne Light display. There are actually 2- I found them both!

I learned this tonight from my Walt Disney World Trivia Book is that when your doombuggy turns backwards out of the attic in the haunted mansion, you are supposed to be "falling" and "dying" and that is why the ghosts in the cemetary are so visible to you. You are one, too!

Right after you "die", as you are going into the graveyard scene, you pass the terrified man with the dog- he's shaking because he's afraid of YOU! (Since you're a ghost now!)

This is close to being off topic, but the female elephants at AK will stand around together and "gossip" (whatever their method of vocal communication is), but as soon as a male comes near, they all shut up!

The Italian pavilion at Epcot is built to represent Venice, Florence, and Tuscany.

I recently read that it costs $35,000 to do Illuminations each night, and $85,000 per night for Wishes!

A few things I learned on the Back Stage Magic tour.

1) The girl who plays Tinkerbelle has to be 5ft 2 tall and weight between 105lb and 115lb.
2) Tinkerbelle gets 3 times the pay as other characters and gets paid for an 8 hour shift but only has to actually work for 4 of those hours.
3) The characters with heads on can be played by male and females as guests will never know. Sometimes Minnie Mouse is played by a retired gentleman.
4) Before the designers decide which new carpets and flooring to put down in resorts and attractions samples are put down in the Epcot cast locker room to test for wear and tear as so many people walk along that floor each day. Therefore the carpet in this area changes almost weekly.
5) The bell tower in the Italy pavillion is in the wrong place compared to its actual location in St Marks Square in Venice. The only reason for this is that Disney thought it looked better.

I'm sure I learned more than this, I'll post again when I remember more.

The very first park to use a "tip board" was the Disney-MGM Studios

2) 93% of the people that stay at the Wilderness Lodge are repeat guests (the highest at any Disney resort).

8. Many of the attractions in Epcot have vip lounges for its sponsoring companies. The one in the living seas has its own Large viewing window.

This is definitely true.....DH works for Hewlett Packard and when we go, we get to go to the VIP lounge for Mission Space. It's a nice little lounge with drinks, etc. And it has a big window overlooking all the suckers ;) waiting in line. Then we get to go behind the scenes to the front of the line. :thumbsup2

I've been wondering about those big baobob trees in Africa
According to Safari Steve on my AKL Sunrise Safari tour a couple of years ago, the one on the safari route is artificial. The one out in front of the Tusker House is real.

I hate to steal info from a friend but I like this one... the ankole cattle at AKL are named after characters from the Drew Carey Show.
