One more thing we were told just before we got married and it was sound advice............Never go to bed angry!!! If we had scuffles during the day, and we did, we always made sure we made up before the night was through!!! :goodvibes

lisa your kids have your eyes! your poor boy is
going to have girl trouble...

He has been use to that for a while already. LOL! He tells me when the girls chase him around the playground & he is trying to decide who he can marry when. :lmao:

It looks like the Tag Fairy has you figured out too. ;)

At the time of this cruise I will be 52 almost 53 years. Janet will be 42 years. My baby Just turned 30 this past Sept 06. My God did that make me feel old. My oldest is only 15 months older than him. I have two grand kids age 13 and 10.

At the time of this cruise (didn't I already say that) Janet and I will be celebrating our 21st anniversary. We got together on 8/20/87.

I also believe that communication is the key to making any relationship work. As well as, making a decision each day to Love that person and keeping the relationship a priority in your life. So often we let work, kids and other small stuff take the front set to the person we claim is the most important person and whom we want to spend the rest of our lives. Kids grow up and move away, job can change but a spouse is supposed to be forever. Take care and it will work. Lois

Those are words to live by Lois! Thanks

We struggled with that as well. Problem is our area is growing so rapidly that the public schools cannot keep up. Overcrowding issues as well as inadequate staff and materials.:confused3 But, DD loooooooooves her school, is very happy and is doing incredibly well. What more could I ask for?;)

While we are not happy with their current school, our Church school is not necessarily better. The test scores are not that great and DS wouldn't have the AG opportunity at all. We are hoping that changing them next year will help both of them.

This is how DH and I celebrated our 20th anniversary a year and half ago. Like you MR, I was also a child bride!

Wow that would be a dream come true for me! We will be celebrating our 20th on the cruise but maybe I could talk DH into that for our 25th! :thumbsup2

You all look beautiful BTW!!!

I guess what works for us is also communication. If I'm mad, I don't hold anything back!!! We always seem to work things out & we have the same goal in life....retire to Florida! ;)

Congrats Lil' Grumpy on your tag!!! ;)

Since we're on bad-Catholic confessions...
DD had her first Reconciliation (confession) last month. She was practicing and asked me if I could go with her. I explained that it was just for her class and that I could always go another time. My best friend and I were joking at Father's reaction...
"Forgive me Father, for I have sinned. It has been DECADES since my last confession.":scared1: :rotfl2:

Well, they had a priest in the chapel for the adults while the kids went in the Church. I hadn't prepared for it but had considered it since I knew that DS wouldn't go long before he asked why I didn't go too. That is about how I started it. 1983 in 10th grade at Catholic HS. I had enough...lost respect for the priest & nun there, was tired of being yelled at in the confessional growing up. It just lost its meaning to me. The priest was very understanding & even said that he would have stopped going if he had been yelled at while going to confession as a child too. ;)

Lisa you can give up cussing, but that doesn't mean you have to give up cursing. They're different you know, and not to be confused with swearing. You don't have to give swearing up either.

That sounds good to me.....in addition to giving up Working, I too will give up cussing!

Then you would be able to convince me that as long as I didn't do it when the kids could hear me it wont count. ;) :lmao:

Okay I have a lapsed Catholic confession of my own. DS made is Confirmation this past Oct. and he's in 8th Grade. Starting with his 7th Grade class our Pastor made weekly Mass attendance mandatory. Complete with an attendance card that needed to be signed. Well a bunch of us parents got together and did a Church-Pool. Yes, the Mass equivalent of a car-pool. I told you I'm going to Hell! :lmao: :lmao:

So you took turns taking the kids to Mass...or picking up the cards to drop in the basket? :rotfl:

So far I have avoided buying the Jibbitz (just because the only place around here that seems to have them is Halmark and they are always too cutsie for me!) so I really don't know... DS7 has Mickey crocs, but I don't yet.

Of course, now that there are Disney Jibbitz I am going to have to get me some! They seem very expensive to me for what they are ($2.50 each) and the idea of adding shipping costs onto that always has stopped me before .... but for a Mickey Jibbitz I'll probably bite the bullet and do it.

Can you tell I tend to be "frugal"???? In our family, we say it is the Danish blood showing. My Danish grandmother is VERY frugal and can pinch a penny until it screams for mercy! She is 98 years old and still lives on her own. Her cousin (also Danish) is 102 and lives in her own apartment in a retirement community in Florida. There is one other cousin who is a yougster at 93 and drove from Iowa to Illinois last summer for Grandma's 98th birthday party - she also plays a couple rounds of golf every week! I sure home I can be like them in another 50+ years :thumbsup2

pdarrah (Pamela)

Pamela: I hear you on the frugal thing - a store near us has the crocs and this week there is a 20% off one tiem coupon - so that is sonding good to me - they also had Jibbitz pictured and featured, so I am going to se if they are actually in the store and I can avoid shipping!!! I want regular Crocs - but would get Disney crocs eventually (thinking an Easter present ) for my DD. She will definitely want the Jibbitz..I just want to make sure the Mickey heads aren't too big to hold the JIbbitz....

I wasn't sold on the Crocs at first - but with this cruise coming up a nd the talk on here - I finally feel the desire to get Crocs and an Ipod - go figure!!!!

Just looked out the window and we are having a sn*w shower, I sure hope it passes soon and doesn't add up to much!!! Come On Spring, get here already!!!

Crocs have to be the ugliest shoes I have ever seen! Now with that said ...I want a pair because they are Disney (Mickey)! Are they really comfortable...am I going to have to do a mind over matter thing?
