Okay....serious question here.....

There's all the talk about updating or doing something to our computers because of Daylight Saving....but, in Arizona, we don't observe DST. Our time never changes. So does that mean I don't have to do anything to my computer?

The way around the 1x3 and 3x1 issue is to just double your answer (i.e. Horizontal equals Vertical - if it is a square).

You're right. I was just doing it as a double-indexed array, looping up from 1 to n (width) and then looping inside from 1 to m (height). Same thing except I can deal with non-square solution sets (e.g. 4 across, 5 down) this way.

Most computers you sellect a time zone when you install it and it should know when to forward your clock or not, mine here in the UK prompts me the first time I log on after a change.

If you are on windows click on the time bottom right and the time details and zone comes up.

We do not change for a couple of more weeks from GMT to BST.

It depends on if you care about the time anywhere else. For example, my company has offices in Arizona. They need to apply the patch because if they don't, and they try to schedule a meeting with me, then their time will be off and I won't have the right time for the meeting.

For a personal computer, probably not, but if you use Windows Update to automatically keep your machine up-to-date, it will get patched anyway.

Are you guys gonna talk like this on the cruise?

Congrats, on 1,000

amd I will get a photo of him for you, but I see others on the oher thread have him before me and will beat me to it.

Dont give me ideas about leaving things at guest services. But if I hide things for you wont DCL clean it up.

It's quite possible that they will . . . I am going to be on the Magic in a few weeks (March 24) and am going to look around to see if I can think of a place where something could be hidden the morning I get off and perhaps not discovered by the cleaning crew . . . part of the fun of it is certainly wondering if I can get away with leaving a note behind on the ship and having people find it once they board to bring the Magic back from the Med. I certainly wouldn't try it with anything valuable, maybe just a note or a postcard . . .

I've never tried that....that's interesting to know.

Okay...good, thanks!

Nice trasure hunt idea but its getting the message across where I have put it.

If you tell me your stateroom number I could leave you my stateroom bill. I'll leave it under the door.

This is my 1000th post!

I've come a long way from my lurking years . . .

Andrew, you will have to "ketchup" and read what we are talking about -- these aren't virtual notes via computer but actual physical notes (or postcards, etc.) that we hide in a preselected place on the ship for the next person to find. For example, I might find a spot to tape a postcard from Monaco and leave it hidden for Monica with a personal note written on it. . . we would PM or email in advance to discuss places.

We would probably also leave something with Guest Services or something in case the Disney cleaning magic found our hidden notes and threw them away. . .

Could I suggest that an autographed photo of Fabrizio would be greatly appreciated??????

:woohoo: :woohoo: WooHoo :woohoo: :woohoo:

Congrats on 1000, Julie

I think this is such a GREAT idea, and if it leaks out to others, it may just become the next "Pay it forward" type thing here on the DIS!!!
Like a "Let's see how long this postcard can stay onboard...and how many names it can collect!!!"
That's fun!!!

Totally agree. There are always a couple I do not like at all, by this one has some that I imagine getting stuck on the island for real and never getting rescued!!:rolleyes1

Those are two I am going to enjoy seeing get the boot (I hope anyway)

Congrats. I'm hoping to get there someday...

I'm not at all good at the movie line thing...:lmao:

But for any of you who have not seen Office Space, it is an ABSOLUTE MUST SEE for anyone who have ever worked in an office setting...Well, It's a must-see for anyone...Period. It's hilarious...:lmao:
YEP.. it is very funny..

From Milton in Office Space.....

"The people to
cake.gif
ratio is not enough"

Correct. It's just a series of squares. No counting involved. Same applied for the rectangle problem except you have to care about multiple dimensions. (1x3 and 3x1 are not the same). The inner squares would be where people tripped up, but that's just a problem inside a problem and you extract that out and count separately.

And your wife is even smarter than you????

I'm not even gonna try....when I meet you in person, I'm just going to say "Hi, I'm Deanna....and I like bright shiny objects."

Those are two I am going to enjoy seeing get the boot (I hope anyway)

I know I'm evil, but I was CRACKING UP when Lisi fell on her face last night during the challenge!!! She SO deserved that...It made my night...:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: Good times!! :thumbsup2

ok enough fun.. back to work..

green light over and out..
