Tiggerific04's Planning Journal (WP/Gardenview Lounge/Chef Mickey's) *UPDATE 8/6

I think I like the third ring the best and I love what your DF has picked out for himself.

I love that centrepiece for the altar, can that be used in place of a Unity Candle arrangement? I think that looks much nicer. How much was it?

I have a question about your cake. You originally wanted to upgrade and I have sent in a pic to Tanis and she has sent it on to the Boardwalk Bakery to get a price quote. Was your upgrade going to be really expensive? I haven't asked for much of an upgrade, but I'm now worried that it will be really overpriced. If so I guess I'll just have to go back to the Intimate cake and steal a pic of Maggies and send that into Tanis.

Don't you just find there are loads of extra costs just sneaking in....?

We're not doing a unity candle, but I did want something decorative so I think I'm going to use that. I'm not sure of the exact cost, but it's around $20-25. I think I linked to it in the post and you should be able to see the cost there.

The cake upgrades were going to cost us between $300 and $800 :scared: Definitely wait and see what Tanis says since the cake you're requesting isn't very complicated. It may not be much of an extra cost at all. I'll keep my fingers crossed! :thumbsup2

I love that centerpiece for the altar...I think it for sure would be really pretty with the rose petals scattered around it!

As I read through all your posts I just kept thinking how much I liked everything you are doing! We have very similar tastes!!! Sounds like you are going to have an awesome day!

Thank you! That's nice to hear because sometimes I think my taste differs with most everyone else's :rotfl:

So now I'm stressing about our photos timeframe. The wedding is at noon, and the reception should be over by 1:30. I had originally booked Randy for noon-3pm, but now I'm thinking (after all of Maggimus' rave reviews) that an hour and a half might be too much time just for pics.

We have the Garden View Lounge booked for 2pm, but a half hour for pics seems waaaaay too short.

I wrote to Randy and explained the timing and told him all of the picture spots I had in mind (inside the WP after the ceremony, Picture Point, GF beach, GF fountain, GF staircase) and told him that whatever he thinks is best, we'll just go with that! DF and I are going to see each other the morning of anyway, so if he thinks pics before the ceremony are a good idea, then that's fine.

In other news, I bought boutonnieres, flowers to make corsages, bubbles, a veil, and toasting glasses last night from Michael's and AC Moore. I also ordered my jewelry and tiara from eBay. I alos bought invitations a while ago and totally forgot to mention it. I'll post pics soon!

I really want to make programs for the ceremony, as DF's mom only speaks spanish and my family doesn't. DF's mom will be doing a reading in spanish, so I wanted to print up bi-lingual programs so that everyone would always be able to follow along. The plan was to find either a stamp, stencil, or one of those punch-out thingies of Cinderella's castle to use on the front, but I haven't been able to find anything.

I'm also having a bit of a dilemma as far as transportation for my MOH. She had an accident almost 2 years ago which left her paralyzed and now she uses a power wheelchair. She'll be using a manual one for this trip, but this still creates a problem of how do we get her from Pop to the WP? Tanis said there is a wheelchair-accessible van we can rent... for $63/hour with a 3-hour minimum. I did the calculations, and just for the two short trips she'll need to make (Pop to WP, Contemporary back to Pop at night) that would cost almost $400!! So now I've begun looking into taxi services with accessible vehicles, but the only one I've found so far is Mears, who told me they cannot guarantee a pickup time! Sooo... we might end up having to rent a van for the day instead.

I have a huge group coming over from Puerto Rico, that speak no english either. Thats a great idea about having things in both languages.

Here is the necklace I bought ($22 on eBay!):

You're definitely not alone. I can't stand wearing any type of "dressy" shoes, so I live in sneakers and flip flops. No way was I going to be uncomfortable on my wedding day!

I love your jewellery, I love pink as well , my wedding dress is even going to be pink!!

DF and I finally decided on a cake:

The flowers will be pink to match everything.

Other than that I've been slacking off on wedding stuff. Work has been really sucky lately and it's been draining all of my energy :sad1:

Looks great! What flavors did you choose? I also have a question....your intimate right? You got choices on the cake type? I am also intimate and dont see a place for choice of style...only flavors! Just wondering!!! By the way...you are getting married 9 days before me!

We're having either chocolate/chocolate or marble/chocolate for the bottom (DF can't decide!) and yellow/raspberry for the top layer.

I didn't get a choice of cake style either, but what I did is went through a bunch of cake threads here on the DIS, saved the intimate cakes I liked, and emailed the pics to my coordinator. I asked her if it was possible to specify which intimate cake style I want since they seem to vary. She said that it was no problem and just emailed all of my choices to the bakery to make sure there wouldn't be an extra charge, and there won't! Let me know if you want me to send you all the pics I've saved (I have about 14 different intimate cake styles in a folder on my computer ;) ).
