Small world Huh. We love it here in VA. I grew up in Ohio, met my DH, we moved to Indiana, then South Carolina (no offense to the folks who lived in SC but I HATED it). Then we lived in Fishersville VA for about 3 years, loved it there, had a gorgeous view of the mountains. BUT when we moved here, I truly think we found "home". I love the weather here, I love Mechanicsville, I love our neighborhood, I love our schools (even the one I work at), I love that 95 is a hop skip and a jump away. I love that we are close to the beach and to Williamsburg - did I mention I love VA? My kids and I are flying to Ohio over Spring Break and I have already warned my MOM that if it snows (I can remember hunting Easter Eggs in the snow) while we are there I will never come back to Ohio again. I really hate the snow and love that we haven't seen any of it for a couple of years!
How close are you to Busch Gardens? DH and I have been going back and forth on wether or not to buy the Va Fun Pass this year. We bought it last year and used it three times so it was worth it. The only problem is figuring out when we can go - we are so busy with karate and swim team and soccer!
I know what you mean. I am from Syracuse, NY originally
(snowbelt capital of the world this year) I never go home in the winter. I moved down here 7 yrs ago and have my own business. I am going home in the middle of April and I hope the snow is gone. I enjoy going down to Va Beach.
I live 3 miles from Busch Gardens and this past Saturday was preview day for passholders so friends and I went and it was so coldl we were bundled upand when the sun went behind the clouds it seemed to get colder. We saw the new ride Griffon, it is opening up in June and can't wait to go on it(the more daring the ride the better for me)
The ride is 205 high with a 90 degree vertical drop at a speed of 65 mph!!! It is right next to Alpengeist.
I agree with the location close to 64 for me and 95.
