Just back from a shopping spree

I keep getting emails from that but I haven't even opened them up.. OH my the 80's coming back.. I wonder if big hair will make a come back? LOL

The kids can't wear shorts to school until we return from Spring Break. However, I have seen several kids do it..but the day I send mine in shorts, I'd get the phone call!

Wow! Is that really a rule? As long as weather permits and it's within the guidelines of the handbook, our school really doesn't care.

I would love it if the weather would stay this nice...I want to be done with the cold!

Yep, it's a rule.. Our handbook says.. "Shorts or skorts are not appropriate winter dress since students will be going out for recess. Winter is defined as November, December, January, February, and March."

It also says NO flip flops..but they get by with it.. and the day DD wore them they called me.. So, I went in to school and stood in the hallway w/ the Principal and pointed out over 25 kids w/ flip flops on.. Needless to say, I had DD change shoes but a note also went home to all parents/students reminding them of the policy! Did it change things.. NO!

Break out the Aqua net ladies cause yes Big Hair is back!!!!
I walk through the stores today and I'm like yep had that and that and that.
I should have kept it all! I could have sold it for a fortune!!!

But technically it's spring. 8:07 pm March 20, 2007 was the first minute of spring. I of course would be the parent that would fight it!!

I should fight it..but usually we have spring break around now (it's 2 weeks late this year).. maybe I should suggest they update that handbook!! LOL

Big hair! Rock on!!!
Tell Mickster.. She likes big hair too!!!

I couldn't get my hair to be big the first time around. Why would I want to do it this time. LOL

I was in the prom dress department with DS15's friend (that was an eye-opener for a mom of all boys, let me tell you)...she was looking at dresses for the spring dance...and as I was going through the ladies dept I was amazed...and I did the same thing...I had that...and that....and that...

I saw that the high waist slacks were coming back again too, oh joy! But I was looking at the prints...I remember my mom wearing that stuff in the 60's...

My DH would be thrilled at the big hair. He loved my big hair permed look, and still asks why I don't get another perm :rotfl:

You know.. I was just thinking, DD and I were shoe shopping the other day.. She saw these platform things that I just about choked over.. she said why wear those.. I said I don't know.. I'd be afraid I'd break my neck..but I gave her the story about my mom's cordaroy (spelling) blue ones that were platform sandals.. and they had a big red & pink flower on the toe strap! URGH!
Needless, to say DD laughed and said "not me!"

Ha! I had big hair. My sister had bigger hair. Blue eyeshadow and brown eyeliner. Oh yes, I was a looker. :lmao:

Now my hair is flat to my head and most days I don't wear ANY make up. There is no way I am cutting this hair to go big. But I might be tempted to get some of the angel wing duster tops.

So Mickster, gonna go big?? I remember Philly girls had the biggest hair. You're not too far from there are ya?

High waisted and gathered to boot. So they don't which is you and which is fabric. :rotfl:

My DSis DH would love her to get big hair again. My DH will be thrilled to never see my hair black again. I can do anything else I want.

Just say no to high waisted pants. LOL Although I guess some consider my preference for just below the wait to be high anyway.

I always wanted the high hair but mine was pretty flat normally however I did use a ton of hairspray on it everyday. I also wore the multicolored mascara. I rememeber in junior high actually wearing blue mascara on the top eyelashes and pink on the bottom. The horror I know but my friends and I thought we were cool.

Mascara to streak your hair! I must have really grown up in the sticks!! I have never heard of such a thing.. let alone colored mascara!!

I had big hair.. I'm currently trying to find the picture.. when I cleaned out my picture albums I sit it up..and now I can't find it.. :( I have some others I need to scanned in..
Do you all remember when you use to roll your pant legs so that they fit tight at your ankles.. w/ scrunchie socks and high tops (Reebok preferred).. or what about the wrestling boots that were big way back when!..

I used to always roll my jeans in junior high. We were talking about it the other day and couldn't remember when we actually stopped. I think it was summer and then when we went back to school and it got to be jeans weather we just didn't do it. I used to wear my with my scrunchy socks and my eastland loafers. Oh and the only jeans I wore were Guess and I had a matching jean jacket.

I remember rolling my pants into the scrunch socks. Had matching hair srunchies too. My jeans were acid wash with a matching jean jacket with huge shoulder pads. Oh My Gosh, I remember putting extra shoulder pads into the shirts that already had them.

LOL!

Shoulder pads!! The ultimate curse.. Gosh forbid they fall out of your shirt.. seems a few of my friends had some explaining to do! Wasn't me.. I pinned mine in my shirt (the shoulder pads that is).. nothing else was added!

Unless the shoulder pad was sewn in the shirt to were I couldn't get it out I always took them out. I have very broad shoulders so I remeber looking alot like a football player even without the pads. I still think I look like I'm wearing them some of the time and I haven't had any in years.

Oh I have another one. Seeing all the girls now in there skinny jeans reminds me that I used to have jeans with zippers in the back and then little cutouts above that. I know I had a black pair that had heart cutouts above the zippers and I would wear them with swead boots with fringe. LOL ok now that I think about it I'm sure it was a site.

I still have my knee high suede black boots. I play pirate wench every year at the renaissance festival. I've had them resoled 3 times since the, uhm, mid 80's. But I remember they $120 from Spiegel back then.
