OK, this is bizarre.

I'm having breakfast, listing to WBEZ National Public Radio on Mrs. Bennett, and there was just a local Chicago news item that a cougar was shot and killed in an alley about a mile away from my house (Roscoe Village neighborhood for those who know Chicago)!

They said that cougar sightings in Illinois are extremely rare let alone in Chicago itself.

They are checking the body for markings are tags to get more information on the cougar.

I was just thinking about how I let the dogs (Truman and Tallulah) out in the front yard. Truman is a whopping 8lbs and Tallulah is 6lbs.)

I can just see Truman trying to take on a cougar!

YIKES!!

Someone posted that their brunch ressie disappeared, they assumed it was because the group ressie had been approved.

Who was the DCL contact for the group room?

That was me - and the thing I did not realize is that PJ has TWO palo lists up in her files - one in the repo folder and one not - it is the one in the repo folder that had me on the 23rd. The other had me on the 24th which is why I got confused (but I do that easily)

if all my freckles smooshed together - I would have a great tan!

actually all mine are but not all over so I have these big brown patches on my face - oh to have the freckles I had as a child :)

All the OGs either think we are crazy or they are themselves. I wonder how long everyone was looking for a huge close up picture of freckles.

I'm so sorry! I just didn't want that picture there for eternity!!

Venetia, remember the tequila tasting thing I was telling you about? I found the book on PV and it says there is a place called Casa de Tequila and they pour high-quality shots for free. They sell the stuff, so they don't appreciate moochers. It's a good place for information on the national drink.

Ohh, more infor please, like where is it located. If we cant go this trip we are sailing again in aug with the Inlaws for their 25th. Not dcl thought:sad1:

And to my baby, I promise I won't compare. :goodvibes :rotfl2:

Hi Guys . . .

Manuel improves on one front little by little, but the surgeon does not like what he sees in his surgical wound. Tomorrow morning they are going to attempt a CT Scan, and we will know more about where we are going from here. Progress on one front, but bad news so far on another. I am terrified of him having to go back into surgery and having any chance of survival . . .

I have a map of where Casa de Tequila is but it doesn't have the port on the map. Are you familiar with PV? It is kind of by Los Arcos & Aquiles Serdan Amphitheater. Galeria Uno. Voladores de Papantla. It is right along the Malecon. You know what, I'll bring the book on Saturday!

Goodmorning all, Well the birthday was a big success yesterday (thanks to all who posted b'day greetings.) After playing with new toys for a couple of hours we went to the Lilo and Stitch breakfast - there were so few kids there that we had some amazing attention. Lilo sat down and figured out Jonathan's entire soduku - it was hilarious. Stitch made Zoe laugh so hard that I thought she'd fall over - We've never seen her laugh that hard in our lives. Then we went to Libby Lu and she was transformed into Sharpay - she was thrilled. Then went to the Disney store where she got to pick out anything she had enough b'day money to buy and onto the bank where she was excited to put half her b'day money into the bank. She went to the bank as Sharpay where she told everyone she was actually wearing a wig -it was hilarious. Then she got to do a water balloon game with the neighbors and a quiet night playing princess monopoly. She is still asleep and has been asleep for 11 hours. It was quite the holiday around here!

DH said yesterday, "I don't know how they did it, it was hot enough at 80 yesterday... that doesn't sound like fun!"

Kelly, sounds like a wonderful day was had by Zoe! A morning with Stitch and Lilo, how perfect.

We will have to schedule another meet on the ship. Oh Pj!!!

With all the shopping for one another we will have to coordinate a gift exchange. I can see it now. We can all stand in a big circle with our purchases and call out who is "*****" I have your "*****". :lmao:

Hey, I owe envelopes to people too, lol.

I took out the second list (last night, but it has not synced up yet), somehow a copy got dropped in the main folder, but the one in the 2008 folder is the one I keep updating, check that one.

I wonder if this is a chain. We went to Casa Tequila in Zihua last month. Tried a few samples but nothing tasted so great that we had to buy it. They have the most amazing selection of tequila there....more kinds than I knew existed and some very expensive bottles. There is also someone there rolling cigars out front and they have a huge humidor....was is Steph that asked about Cuban cigars??? They sell them in Mexico.

Great pics last night everyone! Thanks for sharing. :goodvibes

John, I just skimmed quickly, any update on Manuel? Hope things are going well for him!

V, how great that they limit sizes to 18....that is wonderful. Taylor has 25 in her class and Jaide has 28 in her 4th grade class.

I know we have had lots of education discussions here...but I am on the verge of pulling the girls to homeschool....our districts in the area are falling apart. They just took away 6th grade camp and are cutting principal positions so 1 principal will go between 2 schools and they are cutting over $100,000 in staff (classified/non teachers) and $200,000 in staff (para's etc). It is just horrible. Our kids are suffering horribly. :sad1: :sad2:

Our dog has another seizure this am, they are getting worse:confused3 She has 1 every 3 months or so and each time they last longer and are more severe. I was in the shower and Jaide came flying in to tell me...she is a big dog so Jaide couldn't hold her during it so there I sat dripping and holding this 75# dog during her seizure. This time she cut herself so she had gotten blood all over the carpet. Of course this was a morning when Scott had an early meeting and was gone and Jaide starts her WASL testing so getting to school late wasn't an option....UGH. All is good now, I am at work, so I can relax and DIS between patients.

When I was 23, I spent a semester in Europe. This was way before the EU was formed and I collected money from each country I visited. Now, 20 years later, It is fun to have money from all those different countries.

You've probably got money that doesn't exist now as so many of the European countries have switched to the Euro.

But not us yet, and hopefully never. ;)

I remembered a few more things.....

Kelly, glad you had such a great birthday for Zoe yesterday!

Connie (?) did you order the blinkie braids yet? If not, I would be interested in 1 dozen as well please. I can't remember who to PM about that.

Shannon....good luck on your interview!!!!:goodvibes

Sounds like it might be the same place because it does discuss cigars in the book as well. Thanks for the information.
