YOAMD Postcards and Winners

Hey all,
Been sending cards (3) a day since the start, won a pair of ears last month on the 22nd and this month on the 13th, so I am not sure which month's drawing they are from. Curious to know if anyone has won a lanyard, or other small prizes this year. Good luck to all, and here's hoping for a "bigger" win, but loving the ears.

OhMari If I win "Ears", I'll give them to anyone that wants them on here. I'll even send them for free. I'm not "ungrateful", it's just that I have no little kids.

Keep me in mind if you win Ears... I would kill for a pair. I won a dream lanyard at DCA last October, but it was the last day of our trip and I only got to use one FP. I would have much rather had the Ears.:wizard:

My fiancee got Dream Ears in the mail today. :) I have been sending in the postcards for over a year now and this is the second set we won in the mail. I also won a pair in the parks. I have noticed that the ones we have won in the mail are different from the parks. They are solid blue with white ears as opposed to the one with clouds we won in the park. Is there a reason for this?

I started sending in 2 postcards (me & dh) everyday to every other day in late March-April before the postage went up and then I stopped lol I finally decided to buy postcards today and had DH drop them in the mailbox tonight! lol DH brought 2 boxes in and asked if I ordered anything from Disney?lol :) I was SOOO excited!! and they fit GREAT!! Should we wear them when we go to WDW in Dec??lol

I wonder how they pick the winners. . and most of the time it seems like from the same household?:confused3

ps- this place is AWEsome! :goodvibes If not for you guys, I'd never even bother to send anything for YOAMD . . .never thought I'd win anything~but anything's possible now!! :hyper:

WE WON TODAY!!! (well I got the call for the skill testing questions-Canada)

I have been sending in postcards since March 30 for me, my husband, his parents and my parents.
Today I got a call (because I had been putting my cell number on the cards) that my husband, Both his parents and my dad won ears!!!
Can't wait to see them! (Does anyone from Canada know how long it usually takes to ship??)

Also just wondering, is it a "set" of ears each person won?

Thanks!!!!:cool1: :cool1:

We've been sending in postcards now regularly since the contest began. We were just commenting last Saturday how we haven't won anything in a long time and literally as we had that discussion backing out of the driveway, dh says "hey, there are 2 boxes on the front porch!" Believe it or not, it was 2 more pair of ears - one for dh and one for me. We've now won 1 lanyard set and 9 ears!!!

Will do.!!

Keep me in mind to please! I have been sending post cards in all year for DH and I and still no luck. Im hoping we get better luck in August while we're in Disney. That would be a GREAT anniversary gift for us if we won something even lanyards or fast passes.

I bought about 90 postcards back in April and sent 3 a day until they were gone. One for me, one for dh, and one for dd. 2 weeks ago my daughter and I both recieved ears in the mail! And last week, my husband got a pair also! We are going to Disney in Sept for hubby's R&R from Iraq. I asked him if he would wear the ears....he said no...hehehe....but I am determined to get a pic of him wearing them! :rotfl2:

At this point we are close to 300 postcards sent total, about 100 postcards each for the three of us, starting in Spring 2007, and we have won two sets total of ears (one for me, one for DS... received in Jan 2008 and nothing for DH). I am about to give up, LOL :rotfl: but I won't... giving totally up means the "what ifs" start swirling around my brain! :rotfl:

Can someone tell me how long they keep the postcards until they are
discarded and start all over again? I have been sending in cards for
each of us (4) sporatically and have not won yet. Curious as if they
restart with new cards every so often.
Thanks!

Supposedly they bag the cards that are sent in every day. Then on a certain day of the month (around the 20th I believe) they draw the prizes for each day from the bag that was collected on the day the prize was to be awarded. So if a specific prize was supposed to be given out on the 16th of June, they would draw a card from the bag of postcards that was collected on the 16th. At least this is how I believe it happens. I could be wrong, this is just what I gathered from reading the board over the last year or so.

I have just sent my first postcards - fingers crossed - I would LOVE to win some DreamEars

Anyone else a little concerned about putting your home address & your birthdate on a post card? I want to send out postcards, but am concerned about having my birthdate on them (identity theft). :scared1: Am I being paranoid? :confused3 Will they throw it out if the date is not on there?

I'm not, but the people who are have been putting them inside an envelope and mailing them that way. Of course, then the postage is 42 cents instead of 27 cents.

6 postcards a day, 6 days a week for 6 months.
I've won 5 sets of ears. Won 3 of them on one day last month.

I run the postcards through a laser printer to print the mailing address and return address on the front. I then handprint the entry info on the back (important: turn the card 90 degrees to do the handprinting...it eliminates confusion at the post office and you won't get your cards mailed back to your address).

We won four sets of ears today. Seven pairs overall. One of the pairs was won in the park. We can't seem to win anything else. :)

250 cards and we finally won ears. Granted we only won 1 pair and we were sending in 4 cards a day, but it has renewed my hope. The box came in my daughter's name and she was jumping up in down in the kitchen. Ok, I was too. We were jumping and shrieking, my husband had no idea what was going on. lol. I just ordered more postcards. I am hooked again (like that takes much).

Pixie dust to all. Yeah!!!!!!

Yes, I worry as well, ecspecially initially. :goodvibes

They can be placed (one only) in an envelope this year, but that is more money.

What I do to alleviate a bit of my worry (we live near our post office and I have to pass it going to college) is had them directly to the postal clerk, I will not place them in a mailbox nor our home mailbox. To me... handing them directly alleviates the number of hands that touch.

I would put all required info on the cards, as it would be (IMO) and "invalid entry" without. If you are truly that worried, just buy envelopes and mail each entry in one, that would eliminate the concern of people readily seeing/reading/stealing your info.
