17 Days of Wishes Come to Life- A Sept. 08 WDW and DCL Adventure 3/27 new link posted

Looks like a fun afternoon at the pool!

I think my DS12 has the same swimsuit as Aladdin! If it's not the same, it's extreamly similar!

I love the picture of the little prince sitting on your DHs lap playing with his toes! So cute! Sometimes I really miss have a little one around.

When you are at the WL, you can take a launch directly from the WL to the CR and do your own mini photo shoot! :thumbsup2

I didn't realize the boat went to the CR directly! I'm sure I read it at some point, but have forgotten since then...Anyway, it's great news and will be very helpful!

Your pool pictures are fantastic! You can really tell how much fun the boys had swimming and enjoying the day. I'm looking forward to enjoying that WL pool!

Jay-

I forgot to mention our youngest DD was 9 months on her 1st trip, similiar to "little Prince" and she too enjoyed everything sooo much. Everyone kept telling us we were crazy to take her soo young...but it worked out fine.

She wasn't quite as smiley as your little one but none the less enjoyed herself. She was a very serious baby and was quiet and taking it all in.
Our littlest guy is almost always smiling...but we had a serious one as well. Goofy was more quiet, introverted and laid back. Our Little Prince is laid back but outgoing as well. It's so funny how kids can be so different (even ones in the same family).

It's even funnier how some people seem to think babies should not go to WDW. Maybe not every family would enjoy a trip like that...but our family does. I cherish the pictures of each of my boys as babies at WDW. I look back now at Aladdin being held and touching the face of Pooh, Goofy playing in the splash fountains near Ariel's Grotto at MK before he could even walk, Stitch with his his little chubby baby hands holding on to King Louie's big hands and now our Little Prince's eyes growing wide when he first saw Buzz Lightyear. All of those memories are among the most precious I have. :cloud9:

 LOVE the TR Jay!! Can't wait to read more!:goodvibes
Your family is sooo cute!
Why thanks! :cutie: It's good to have you here. I will try to get the next update posted tonight.

I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:thumbsup2 :rotfl2: pixiedust: :disrocks: :rockband: party: :jumping1: :rainbow: :Pinkbounc :goofy: :figment: :sulley: :hmghost: :tigger: :smickey: :tigger: :fish: :flower3:
Oh my, your post made me smile! :goodvibes So a great big :thanks: !

I  this picture of your older three! Dare I say I also think that this one is frameworthy? For me, that expression goes back to the days before digital cameras, when you would wait with bated breath for your vacation pictures to come back from the 1-hour developers (or 48-hour, if you were a penny-pinching university student like me!). Only those that I deemed especially poignant, or those that were artistically worthy, would have a special frame picked out for them. Now I just make slideshows on my laptop, but sometimes I wish for the good old days!

Isn't it funny how babies seem to fall asleep anywhere and at all times? And that they manage to sleep through everything? With three active :dance3: older ones, though, I'm sure you appreciate that!:thumbsup2
I love that expression! And I totally remember those days! I would walk into things on my way out of the store because I couldn't wait to look at my pictures!

And it is so funny where babies fall asleep! One second he was splashing and enjoying being in the pool and the next second he was fast asleep on dh's shoulder. I sure wish I could zonk out like that!

What a great time at the pool!!

OMG, look at The Little Prince holding onto his toes! He knows that I wanted to bite them!! :lmao: :rotfl2:

I really laughed at DH being so proud of winning!! How exciting for him. The boys looked so cute participating in the games.

Can't wait for more!!
HA HA HA...he might just have heard that through the grapevine. Stitch is wondering how Sir George is doing BTW.

A totally off topic insert but it goes with the eating toes thing. When Goofy was about 3 he was terrified that I was going to EAT HIM to get him back in my stomach cause I had told him he was so cute that I wanted to eat him all up. I tried not to laugh in front of him (cause he really was scared that I was going to "eat" him to get him back into my stomach like before he was born) and comfort him, but I think my sides hurt by the time I got done laughing once he was out of the room.

Hi Jay, I just found your TR tonight (waiting for another Zzub installment)
You have a beautiful family, thanks for taking us on this journey with you.

PS I am so sorry about your son getting sick, thank God it was not worse. I hope the rest of the trip- including your cruise- were healthy experiences.
Hello there! WELCOME!! I have long admired Zzub's trip reports. It's good to meet a fellow fan.

I am very thankful he didn't have a tougher time with things. Catching it so quickly helped to prevent a more serious or drawn out problem. And yes, we were all at 100% by the time the cruise rolled around! :)

Good for DH winning that 3D puzzle! :worship: Glad to hear your boys had such a good time with the pool activities! :goodvibes Loving everything, can't wait for more.
The pool activities at the WL rocked! They were the best pool games we have yet to experience at WDW.

I forgot how much fun it was to have a little guy around. I also forgot how much work it was. :lmao: One thing that I did not forget and that I am trying to soak up as much of as possible is the sweet cuddles and smiles. :cloud9:

I didn't realize the boat went to the CR directly! I'm sure I read it at some point, but have forgotten since then...Anyway, it's great news and will be very helpful!

I am glad that info helped. The launch does stop at the FW also in case you wanted to explore there as well! HTH!

Great update! Ah! I know I've said this about a gazillion times but you're kids are SO ADORABLE!!!!!! I can't wait for your next update and see all the adventures you have then.

Awww love all the pool pictures, sure looks like a good day in the sun. The Little Prince is so adorable sleeping right there on his Dad's shoulder IN the pool. What a little cutie!!!

That is neat that your DH won the prize...I bet he was proud of himself.

Can't wait to hear all about the ANNIVERSARY day!!!!!!

:surfweb: :surfweb: :surfweb: popcorn:: popcorn::

OMG I have been so desperate to start reading this report and then I get hit with a heavy cold and miss the begining of it....I'm so dissappointed in myself;) . Anyway it meant I had a little JayTR Fest to myself this morning and it's made me feel tons better. I have thoroughly enjoyed your posts so far and can't believe the hygiene horrors in your room:scared1: . I have seen a couple of reports on The Wave and have a feeling it may be added to our growing list of poss ADR's for next summer. Keep up the good work you're brightening up a very wet & dull Scottish October:worship:

Congrats to your kids, even though they didnt win I'm sure they tried their hardest, and extra congrats to DH for winning

Looks like you had a nice relaxing afternoon at the pool. BTW I wanted to ask you. How do you like the quick dry shirts that your boys were wearing? I am thinking about getting them for my boys since we live in Wyoming where the elevation is 6000 feet here. It is easier to get sunburn here.

You have to go back to page 25 in my PTR. I posted some pics of a family member of Sir George who stayed on my car -- on the windshield, no less -- while I went out for a drive!! Stitch will love those pictures!! :rotfl2:

Awww, poor Goofy! Little kids are just soooo cute! I can just imagine him at three and Mommy is going to eat him up!! Just think, you get to experience all that little little kid stuff again with Little Prince. :lovestruc

Day 2 continued...

The sitter that we had the IPO arrived right on time. She was young and friendly and most importantly, someone that I felt comfortable with leaving the kids with.

We had given Aladdin charging privileges so that the plans for this evening could run smoothly. We left the sitter with instructions for them to eat a room service meal, chow down on the left over cake, enjoy the club lounge, make their way out to the beach, have fun at the arcade and/or if anyone wanted, to stop at the caricature artist and let the older three boys have one done. Basically, we left her with a list of approved activities that should have kept any child busy for the next week. :rotfl: We just wanted her and the boys to have a choice about what they did and we didn't want to feel guilty about them just sitting around the room all night.

Child care settled dh and I walked down to dinner. This was the night of our vacation that we had chosen to celebrate our anniversary. Our 13th anniversary to be exact. We chose to dine at Artist Point (a new one for us) for our anniversary dinner. We ended up being ever so glad that we did!

Disney2008222.jpg

Upon arrival we were seated almost immediately. I think it's because we had reservations for five minutes after the restaurant opened. That meant they had a lot of tables to chose from. Our table was in the perfect location, we could see straight out of about four sets of windows. The views out of all of them were so pretty (as most of the views at the WL are).

We were seated and handed menus and then left alone to ponder our choices. Very shortly though a CM (not our server or the person who had seated us) came over and took our menus from us and told us that he wanted to make sure we had the right menus. It was then he handed us menus that had this written on the bottom. By the time we saw it, he had disappeared and we were never even able to thank him.
Disney2008224.jpg

That was a big surprise for both of us. I hadn't mentioned to them that it was our anniversary. Nor had I asked the IPO to do so...but I had mentioned that we were going to be celebrating our anniversary when I called about booking the child care for the boys. I know that sounds like mystery solved...and it was BUT, it also shows just how thoughtful the IPO was. **At first I had called in and asked for anniversary ideas from the IPO staff, but during that call I spoke to someone with no ideas and no interest in coming up with any. So, in contrast, this seemed even nicer.** I had made our dining reservations weeks before our child care reservations were made. So the IPO CM took it upon herself to look up our plans for the evening and then to add a note that we were celebrating our anniversary. That totally rocks customer service wise.

A few minutes after we were given our special keepsake menus, our waiter appeared with a champagne toast for us. It was a very sweet touch. Both dh and I enjoyed it very much. The addition of a raspberry floating in it made it seem festive.;)
Disney2008223.jpg

Let me take a break right here to say just how terrific our server was. He was funny, attentive, kind, helpful and always around at the right times although it never felt like he was hovering. So two thumbs way up for the service at Artist Point. :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 It was the best service of our entire WDW stay.

Back to the food, the real star of this meal. Dh started off with the crisp venison spring rolls with hot sweet and sour sauce. Dh said his appetizer was excellent!
Disney2008226.jpg

I chose the smokey portobello soup with roasted shiitakes and chive oil. This ended up being a bowl of pure mushroom goodness. I have had one other bowl of soup in my entire life that was better than this. I had a fresh lobster bisque on the French island of St. Marteen that was out of this world amazing (I dream of it still). The mushroom soup at Artist Point is "up there" with the fresh lobster bisque...that is the ultimate compliment that I could give. Sorry that I forgot to take a picture before I sort of swirled it all together.;)
Disney2008225.jpg

For our main dishes we both chose the same thing. We chose the buffalo sirloin. We differed in what we had as sides. Yes, our awesome waiter offered to have them mix and match any of the main entrées on the menu in order to give us our perfect meal. Either of us would have been more than happy ordering off of the menu, but this choice gave us the freedom to mix and match the ultimate meal!

Here is what ended up on my plate. A grilled buffalo sirloin with chipeta potato truffle fries, sautéed wild mushrooms and wild mushroom butter. Sorry for once again digging in before I snapped the picture.
Disney2008227.jpg

The buffalo was so tender and moist! It was a great meal. And the truffle oil added to the fries was a great touch! Dh had the same buffalo sirloin served with fingerling potatoes, fennel and apple cider sauce. Both dh and myself LOVED every bite of our dishes!

Dessert was almost as good as the meal and appetizers had been (it was great actually but not a "top of every dessert ever" sort of dish). Dh chose the hazelnut chocolate torte which was served with blood orange sauce and honey lavender ice cream. I tried a small spoon of his ice cream and it was very good!
Disney2008229.jpg

I chose the heirloom apple tart. It came with buttermilk ice cream, pecans and spice syrup. It was delicious.
Disney2008228.jpg

We had coffee and tea after dessert. We just sat there and relaxed and talked about the past year and the one yet to come. I chose the Vanilla Rooibos herbal infusion tea...Oh my goodness! VERY GOOD! I have since placed an order for some to be delivered to my own door and I cannot wait!

Following this amazing meal we made our way back up to our room and ran into the boys and their sitter waiting for room service. They had already been out and paid a visit to the caricature artist. Here is the caricature he did of Aladdin. I think the one we had done last year was better but this one is still good.
DisneySept08001.jpg

The one of Goofy was way more like him (we thought).
DisneySept08002.jpg

And I think that they did a great job on Stitch! The artist even captured the Jack Skellington on his shirt! We think this caricature is right on the money!
DisneySept08004.jpg

After taking a quick peek at their new caricatures, giving out a few hugs and doing a quick change of clothes, we left them with the sitter to enjoy their room service dinner.

Dh and I were on our way to Universal Studios...*gasp*...to see the Blue Man Group. :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: WE LOVED THIS SHOW! It is the most unusually fun show ever. And I thought that when we saw Cirque last year I had trouble finding a way to describe it...The Blue Man Group is even harder to explain and even MORE worth seeing. At least for both dh and myself if we were to see one of those two shows again, it would definitely be the Blue Man Group. We were in the very front row so I was a bit nervous going in and not knowing what to expect. It was so strange, but even though neither of us was ever taken up on the stage, we felt as if we were part of the show and not just watching it. I loved every second of the show. Even when toilet paper, paint, cereal, marshmallows and other assorted items made their way into the crowd. I must say, this is the first show that we have ever been to that provided us ponchos to wear during their performance.:lmao: I cannot do it justice, so I won't go further into trying to describe a Blue Man Group performance. What I will say is GO! GO!! GO!!! It's SO much fun! Also, don't forget your camera the way we did, you have great photo opportunities with the Blue Men themselves after the show.:thumbsup2

We happily made our way back to the WL and our boys (who were happy and ready for bed by the time we walked through the door), got ready for bed and fell asleep thinking about what tomorrow would bring...our first park day of the trip!:yay:

Up next, our first park day!

To be continued...

Oh Jay...what a wonderful way to spend your anniversary. It sounds like you both had a wonderful time. The Blue Man Group sounds like a hoot.....I wanna hear more!!! LOL.

Oh and those caricatures of the boys are darling....I think that is funny that Stitch had on his Jack Skellington shirt too...sounds just like the little guy!!! ;)

Now onto the park day...come on, your fans are waiting.....:lmao:

How nice of you to give your boys all the freedom at WL! :goodvibes Sounds like they had fun!

Oooo the buffalo sirloin looks so delicious! Someday I'm sure we'll make it to Artist Point and I will be sure to order that!

I'm so happy your 13th anniversary was special! :thumbsup2

I'm glad you had a wonderful anniversary celebration. It's too bad you forgot your camera for the Blue Man Group show. I would have enjoyed seeing the pictures.

Wow, your anniversary dinner at Artist Point sounds (and looks) amazing! So glad to hear you enjoyed yourselves. It was so nice of them to give you the personalized menus too. You just really made me want to go see the Blue Man Group too. They sound like such a fun night. Happy belated anniversary :goodvibes

Your anniversary dinner at Artist Point looked amazing, I am glad you had a good time. What a nice touch that was on your menus, Im sure it made your night even more magical. If you dont mind me asking what sitter service did you use? We have used Kids Nite Out on previous trips and have always been happy with them.

DH and I just LOVED Artist's Point too! Soooo yummy. My favorite dessert of all time is from there, "Coffee Two Ways" and I FULLY intend to order it this trip in a "to go" format if they will let me!

And I'm so happy to hear you loved the Blue Man Group! I was confident you would, who wouldn't?! It's such a blast! And very, very difficult to explain. I hope to go back and see it again someday.

What a wonderful anniversary night for you and your DH! :goodvibes And the boys look like they had a fun night too. :thumbsup2

Hmmm...are you a mushroom fan, Jay? ;) I seem to remember an inordinate amount of mushrooms from a topping bar making an appearance in your last TR...:rotfl: Your whole meal at AP looked YUMMY and just seeing the pictures made my mouth water! I would love to see the Blue Man Group, since I've heard so much about it; they came to my city last month, but my youngest brother was the only one who went to their concert. Love the caricatures too; on our first family Disney trip in 1990, my parents got one done for both of us kids (youngest was not yet born!) and they are still displayed at our summer cottage. Who needs a Picasso when you can hang your kids up on the wall? (OK, I just re-read that and it comes across WAY differently than I meant it :lmao:, but I think/ hope you know what I mean!).
