Curious is anyone is currently staying in a 1 bedroom standard view. Would like to see pictures of view from patio. Also, which room numbers have a pool view??

Thanks to everyone taking time from your vacations to post for us!!:disrocks:

I would love to see a picture of the activities listings for Kidani - the storytelling time at the fire pit, etc. and also activities for Community Hall. TIA!

Hi All

Just moved over from Jambo to Kidani. I'll post some photo's later today as we are about to go on an explore. The place is amazing, the public areas are the same as Jambo, same carpet lights etc.

Self parked under there are plenty of stairs and elevators taking you up it works really well and you can drive to park closer to the pool if need be. We checked in the cast members were really excited and got our room key straight away. We are in a standard 1 bed having had a savanna for 1 week already. Straight away the rooms from Jambo to here are a world apart. This is sooooo much bigger. The 2nd bath is going to be useful. Other quick observations as DW is waiting to go out, the TV has a connection break out box with HDMI, VGA and composite inputs, the bed side alarm clock has an ipod dock and an illuminated light, bigger living area. The safe is huge would easily take my laptop which is quite big.

The bathroom is large, only 1 sink, shower is exactly like the model we visited.

Also we got a model Baobab tree hand made in Africa as a first guest present. I am taking pictures of some things and when the babies are in bed later will see what questions others haven't answered yet.

Jambo

..hope you enjoy your stay...also, if you don't mind, please share some pix with us on THIS thread:

there are no pool views yet. they are in the other section still being built..least as explained to me at check in. when you look at the map facing the lobby the wing to the right is open and most those windows are looking at the bus stop area. the wing to the left has the pool in front and many of the rooms in that wing would have apool view. I believe our section was called zebra trail

tonight the epcot bus home stopped here first and then went to jambo. i also noticed earlier today the same thing occured, odd as I thought we had to get bus at jambo(dtd bus) to get here, but maybe they are trying some ideas

We were an Magic Kingdom today and the bus stopped at Jambo first and then came on to Kidani. Oddly it then changed to returning to the Studios. When we got on this morning we were the only ones joining at Kidani but it was then packed after Jambo so when all rooms are open I could imagine it may need some thought. There was a man there yesterday noting times and people with a clipboard so I imagine it will all be up in the air for a while.

I asked and the CM I spoke to in reception didn't think tables in wonderland was accepted anywhere except Saana but I didn't get a high level of confidence. We are hopefully going to try and fit Saana in again before we leave so I'll ask there.

The layout from the parking garage is around 4 elevators, Timon, Zazu, Rafiki and Pumba, oddly the lift to the lobby doesn't have a name and pops up outside by the front door. Timon and Zazu are both in the wing which is open.

Our room is between the 2 lifts and DD4 and I walked over, down the Zazu elevator and over to Jambo gift shop as the shop here didn't have AAA batteries. We were there did some shopping and back in under 20 mins I was surprised it wasn't actually all that far. No major roads to cross and a fair amount of foot traffic, I would have thought it might be quicker than getting the bus.

I had a look at the BBQ area earlier, there are 4 grills and 4 picnic tables all overlooking a lake. It is close to the road though with lots of buses coming by all the time when the planting matures and creates a little more screening it will be very nice over there. The is a pedestrian crossing over to it just before a four way stop for traffic.

Don't think I have seen this before anywhere either, the community hall is stocked with the usual board games, 3 PS2s, pool table, fussball (?) (table football for us Brits) Wii on big screen TV, sports equipment hire, crayons/coloring pencils etc. It isn't as big as some perhaps but does have a balcony running the full length overlooking the Savanna which is a bonus.

Someone else asked about the sinks in the 1 bed, unlike the master in Jambo (although they only have one bath in a one bed) there is only 1 sink in the master. We put the jacuzzi on tonight and I guess it may have sat for a month or too without being used since installation and all this scum came out :scared1: a call to maintenance tomorrow to see if they can flush it. That is the first and only thing I could possibly find to fault we were worried about being here for opening, I have seen snag lists for new homes and hotels run into the hundreds.

The man in the shop told us about the recycling bins in the rooms, studios may not have them but 1 bed+ do. They take anything glass, paper, cardboard, aluminum, plastic. He said that there were what seems like hundreds of people downstairs that sort the rubbish all day to minimize waste.

There was much merriment earlier we were walking back to the room and we could hear a group of people laughing, between each of the sections are windows to the Savanna our daughter was running on a little and got there before us and it wasn't until she pointed out that two Zebra were 'cuddling' that we noticed why everyone was laughing. Some kind of talk about the 'circle of life' may be needed! :rolleyes1

I think I'm updated again. Feel free to point out anything I missed (I'm sure I must have).

So you are saying that there is a way to walk over to Jambo from the Zazu elevator? This is great to know! :thumbsup2 As someone who uses a scooter :moped:, the idea of having to board a bus to go between Kidani and Jambo is daunting, to say the least. I don't even want to think how annoyed other guests will be, not to mention the bus driver! :scared1:Hopefully there will be other paths to walk between the two.

Thanks for the info!

Debbie your welcome!, on the first floor outside there is a single footpath from the pool, all the way parallel with the underground parking which continues on to Jambo. You can see it on the map someone has already posted. There is easy access from every one of the elevators so on the scooter it would be really easy to get to Jambo from any of the elevators. In fact we have found it quicker to use the path rather than walk through the hotel as you can have a clear run to the pool and with a stroller the access to the pool using the ramp is around the back of the pool bar. The approach from the lobby is either ramp or steps but you still have to go to where the two paths meet to get round.

Absolutely no need to be daunted it is very straight forward you will have no problem taking any route you want, also the landscaping is nice it is a good path.

The green questions still need answers as well as the thermostat model and if someone knows the override sequence.

The ice maker question was a joke but no reason it can't have an answer too just in case ;)

I'm not sure if this has been asked yet, but are there Grand Villas at Kidani?

Hi all,

We just returned last night from a wonderful weekend at Kidani Village. For those of you who haven't seen it, I posted a mini TR or review over on the Misc. page.... http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2167621

I'll look back over the questions to see if I can fill in any blanks. One thing I did notice is some misinformation from a few posts back.... There are 'pool view' rooms open in the left wing of Kidani. We stayed in the second building to the left of the lobby (the second "bead" as they told me) at the very last room on that hallway. I had requested a pool view, so I'm guessing this is why we were placed there. Granted, it's not directly over the pool area, but it's the last room we could have gotten with some sort of view of the pool. I haven't uploaded pix (can't find my cable!!!!) but I will today at some point and you'll see what I'm talking about.

I also have a close up picture of the thermostat. One thing I noticed on the therm. was that it wouldn't let me go below 68 degrees and at times it felt a little warm (of course I was burnt, so I was running a little hot). I'll post the thermostat picture later.

And Constant is soooo right....the walking path was so much easier than taking the bus to Jambo House (in fact we never did it this weekend because the walk was so easy). It was a 10 minute walk (not at a leisurely stroll, but not racewalking either) to Jambo....probably the same from an outlying longhouse at Poly to the GCH? Or one end of the Poly to another? Either way, it was not bad AT ALL. And way easier (IMO) than loading a bus just to go next door.
