Oh my! I was off for about 4 days and I came back to over 60 pages!! There's no way I'll be able to read all those. Can anyone let me know if I've missed anything?? We had guests the last few days. Then me and dh took a little 2 night trip to Phoenix today while grandma watches the kids. So, off to bed so I can sit at the pool all by myself!! I know I won't be able to do this on the cruise so I'll soak it up now. :)

Docs have arrived

There are issues with Dis only tastings so they are likely to be split out - Im sure Sues post is on the previous page.

Thanks everyone! Yes, they have it right Kimmy and I are roommates and live 3000 miles away from each other. After 28 days together we will probably be happy to go home to our respective states. :rotfl2:
.

Thanks! I had a feeling you were but paniced when I saw it lol!

I`ve been in a planning mode for our post cruise 5 day stay in WDW. So lets say DH and I have been having a "discussion" ;) over tickets options. A one day ticket is now $87, times that by 4, a day in Epcot and one in MK, covert into GBP and that comes to £232 :scared1:
On a more positive note have got the dining plan booked. I wonder if they`ll let us stay onboard another 5 days
They would on the "Wonder"
Thought we may as well jump in. My wife Shanna and I will be leaving on 9/15 and staying at Le Meridien. We are in 6128 on the Magic. Looking forward to seeing all of you.
:goodvibeshi and welcome:goodvibes
No, but I do a great Doc Brown impression!

If you're at the DIS roll call on the first day, I'm willing to bet you'll be able to identify me! ;)
I cant wait to meet you now!
Thanks to all who have sent kind words and prayers.....amazing what these things do....as well as antibiotics.....she is feeling a little better.....they have been pushing bag after bag of the antibiotics into her.....so again....thanks for t he kind words!
Tom
Thats fantastic news.
:scared1:Hello All!
Late night check in.

So sorry for everyone having a rough time. I home all your loved ones will be home safe and healthy soon.:grouphug:

We (my DH, DS, and I) got our docs yesterday. Our Daughters have not arrived. Maybe they mail out docs to castaway members first???

I borrowed a laminator from work and have been working on magnets and dry errase boards for our family. Our DD's havent a clue what is going on, and I am going to town on their door. they will Love it or Hate it...kinda hard to tell with a couple of 20 somethings. Courtney is a Professional Photgrapher and Carolyne works for Anthropologie. I think they are secretly excited about the ship, but ....are keeping to themselves

Almost done packing , my husband is next then the suitcase I worry about the most....our ship gear. gifts ,magnets, books to share, etc

Off to check my "grey" Must make appointment soon....
Please go to our web site (First Post) and add your info on our rool call.

Night all
You make me worry, packed:scared1:

Welcome back, just the tasting info I think you need to check on.
Aw, I see. Thanks for clarifying that!

Well, I just realized on the receipt they also added $10 for what- I do not know. I wasn't informed I'd be charged that... so that's their profit, no need to also make the rate higher. Got me both ways apparently. :(

I think I meant adaptor. not converter. I'm not sure. I hadn't thought about it until a friend (whose son just returned from a trip to Europe) offered to let us borrow theirs if we need it... only then did I think about it. I think she probably said adapter. LOL Thanks!

Yes to all the above.
Oh, you mean more specific questions?
Well I'm curious mostly about what transportation you used in Barcelona and how much and how that went/etc. :)

Oh and here's a question for everyone please.. Um, I thought I needed to make sure the kids had summer-ish clothing that actually fit well (because they are growing like weeds) but then it dawned on me... this trip is not the caribbean and it's slightly later than we normally cruise anyway. So like I went online to look up weather in Barcelona in Sept and it says 72 is the norm?
FOR REALS?
Ohmy we are gonna be freezing -we're used to 100+ degree weather for like... forever now. LOL Or I'm gonna have to pack warmer clothing and that's gonna be hard to pack us all in carryons... eek.
so yeah, is this cruise gonna be in the lower 70's all the way thru? Till we get towards the tail end of the cruise? yes, no? maybe so? Help! What are ya'll packing to wear on a daily basis for the cruise/at ports?

And phooey- looks like no scuba diving for me. Been dealing with sinus and ear issues since April and although I didn't even know anything was wrong in that respect (went in originally with sore throat and hoarseness that wasn't going away- turns out was a side effect of sinusitis) - it was pretty bad and I was running fever without realizing it and everything. So now I've been on all these steroid shots & pills, 2 nasal inhalers (one steroid based), decongestants, anbitiotics for awhile, etc. and again thought I was fine... except for the vertigo when I leaned my head back or when I laid down.
So a check up yesterday and turns out the sinuses are still crap and my ears are still crap- especially the left one. Eustachian (sp?) tube on that side apparently completely clogged and he had me force air to see but on the left side it blew up like a balloon and didn't go back down (ie: the air forced in there couldn't get back out the way it was forced in)
And it looks like more rounds of antibiotics, stay on the same meds, and if not better in 2wks (like that's gonna happen) then I have to go see another dr and get tubes in my ears.
At 41yrs old.
sigh...
AND he thinks I have ear stones? I've never heard of such!
And wants me to do vertigo exercises to help that, that basically consist of rolling around in certain positions? Also never heard of such. Learn something new everyday. LOL

(he did say left ear had a lot of scar tissue and I had a lot of ear infections throughout my childhood that were basically taken care of by aspirin, oil and smoke and stuff put in my ear and law on a couch till it stopped hurting. I didn't see the dr much in my childhood.. that's for sure. I've also had always had to pop my ears a lot when flying -or else have excrutiating pain in both ears upon liftoff and landing)

so yeah. Probably gonna have to cancel scuba diving with the fam. :sad1:
That was really the only excursion I was looking forward to. The rest are all a lot of walking, looking at stuff, etc Which is all fine and good... but we like to do more water active things. LOL

Meanwhile, you're gonna see me at my heaviest weight EVER (even when pregnant with Robert- which is really saying something...) because I guess the steroids are making me gain weight. I dunno. I'm not doing anything to gain past my "top weight" that I usually stay at no matter HOW horrible I eat. Since I started the meds- just gaining left and right since April. I'll be the bloated lady waddling around- you'll recognize me for sure. Especially if I can't find any clothes that fit me and have to wear the same few clothes every few days. grrrrrrrrr (not really all that interested in buying clothes to fit this weight but sigh.... guess I'm gonna have to atleast try. Wish i was the same weight I was last year -again. sigh) I can't even fit my pirate shirt I ordered! *cries*
eh well... could be worse, could be much worse. So no more complaining from the pillsbury dough-lady. LOL

we think that temp is totally toasting!!vacation is not the time to be stressing over inllnes or wt issues, try to leave it at home:hug:

RIGHT

I have been lazy all wek, Im away to gym and swim, bla bla.

Also I was dreaming AGAIN about the crusie, its all too mental and randon to repeat but I am driving myself nuts with it!

I hope all our furry friends are doing better and behaving!

With all the discussion about the Magic Fountain in Barcelona, I realized that we probably need a point-of-reference post! So I have one on Page 2 of Chapter 9. The first show is at 9:30 pm on Thursday and on Friday. I plan to go on Thursday, meeting people at Praktik Rambla Hotel so we can get there together as a small group!

Ours mentions OBC but doesn't state it's for fuel supplement refund...... Just curious- those that say it- are you all DVC? If not, did anyone who received the $100 OBC per person letter also have it stating fuel supplement refunded OBC on the documents? Trying to figure out why others state it but ours doesn't.... and why DCL is telling our TA that no one is getting it on this cruise. :confused3....

In summary to your questions:
I do have OBC noted and I know I indeed do have OBC credit as well as funds I have already added.
I am not DVC.
I did pay a fuel surcharge when I booked in October 2008.
I do have the $100 oopsie letter that was mailed a long time ago.
I do not have any notation in my Cruise Docs stating I'm getting a refund for the fuel supplement.

....my DD was admitted to the hospital yesterday....she has a viral infection in her intestine and a serious infection in her colon....

Oh Tom...how concerned you must be! I'm glad she's been doing a little bit better this evening. We'll keep the prayers going!

Sitting in Barcelona airport on our way back from our Med cruise. 31 days til we come back. DW (Lorraine) is working an trip report...

Welcome back, and I'm thrilled that you had a great time! No need to unpack, right? ;)

....DD Lindsay and I are flying out of Newark on the 15th and have a 5 hours lay over in Belgium....we arrive in BCN around 3 pm on the 16th. Does anyone have any plans to meet up on the 16th? We would love to meet up with some people. :woohoo:.....

Indeed you deserve this relaxing voyage! I'm sure you'll have many fond memories of cruising with your mom while you're on-board! My mom, grandmother, and I went on our first DCL cruise in September 2008. It's truly one of the most cherished times ever. She turns 79 in December and talks about the cruise all the time! I'm so lucky to still have her. We were just talking last week that when she was my age, she became a grandmother with my arrival!

It would be great if you can meet up to go to the Magic Fountains with some of us!!

Hi everyone,
We are looking forward to meeting many of you on the ship this coming September!....
Thought we may as well jump in. My wife Shanna and I will be leaving on 9/15 and staying at Le Meridien. We are in 6128 on the Magic. Looking forward to seeing all of you.

Welcome!!! I'm so glad you made an appearance!

I am glad to see finally we are not the last ones arriving in Barcelona! Love the flight info on the first pages! Thanks for doing that.

You're most welcome!!

I'm sure this might be posted somewhere but booking so late, I have no idea where to find things other than the first page. :confused3 Anyway, DD Lindsay and I are flying out of Newark on the 15th and have a 5 hours lay over in Belgium (hope we can get Belgium waffles in the airport for breakfast and Belgium chocolate - no calories) :rotfl2: Anyway we arrive in BCN around 3 pm on the 16th. Does anyone have any plans to meet up on the 16th? We would love to meet up with some people.

Some personnal info about me - I haven't been on the Disboards:surfweb: much and I know there are old friends :grouphug:(not age wise) that we are looking forward to seeing and making new friends. My mom had Alzheimer's and my DD spent the alot of time with her and watching her especially when I was at work. I got married :lovestruc on the Disney Wonder :bride: one year ago, May 22. Even though everyone said my mom shouldn't go with us, I took her and she was so happy to be at my wedding. :grouphug: In October, DD and I took her with us on a 7 day Magic cruise and she loved it. She was on the last Transatlantic cruise with us. Anyway, at the age of 92, she passed away on :sad:my first anniversary. :sad1: Then in June, my retina detached and I had emergency surgery and during this time, I booked this cruise and wasn't sure if my doctor would let me travel. I got the go ahead. Yesterday I had laser surgery on my good eye to correct some problems that could led to a detached retina in my good eye. We usually go to the MNSSHH but we can't this year because I can't miss more time from work and I'm scheduled for cataract surgery on my bad eye since the retina surgery created a cataract. Anyway, if anyone has any eye problems, don't put it off. Make a doctor's appointment right away and don't play with your eyes. The sight you save can be your own. Okay, enough with the bad stuff.

So as you can see, we had a rough year. I can't begin to tell you how much we are looking forward to and excited to be going on this cruise:banana:. Just want to hang out with people, enjoy our 14th Disney cruise, can't wait to have the drink of the day (everyday), celebrate our September birthdays:bday: and just have an awesome time.

Just curious, does anyone know who the CD is?

Can't wait to meet everyone. CYA real soon.

Bev:
Welcome aboard!! :)

Thought we may as well jump in. My wife Shanna and I will be leaving on 9/15 and staying at Le Meridien. We are in 6128 on the Magic. Looking forward to seeing all of you.

Welcome aboard! :)

I made chicken soup for him for lunch again today. I freeze the broth in quart bags when I boil a chicken for salad or enchiladas so I have lots I can pull out and quickly make up some soup. He is still coughing a bit, but seems to be a bit better than the last couple of days. Dentist tomorrow, so I hope he will be able to breathe through his nose for that. :sad2: He took a nice long nap today also....I'm trying to take good care of him. :lovestruc

Lots of posts of documents received...or not, and a couple of new folks joining in the fun. :thumbsup2

:grouphug: So sorry to hear this. :grouphug:
Hope he's feeling better soon!
And thanks. I'll survive though. LOL Long as I get to GO... it could be way worse but I'm not even going to imagine that as it'll start up my "worrying mind" and we don't want to go there. LOL

They would on the "Wonder"

:goodvibeshi and welcome:goodvibes

I cant wait to meet you now!

Thats fantastic news.

You make me worry, packed:scared1:

Welcome back, just the tasting info I think you need to check on.

Low 70's is toasting?!? Well you'd practically melt here then. haha
Yeah I know... I'm trying to leave it at home. I'm just not excited about the idea of having to buy bigger clothes to have anything to wear. bah humbug. LOL
eh....... could be so much worse. So I'll just be happy, no worries.

Any newbies - please go and add your name, room number and sizes to the wristband spread sheet at:

Krisann
Hi,
I wrote you yesterday in pm. If you just haven't gotten to it yet- that's cool. But let me know if you didn't receive it? thanks! :)

I am confused now, I know, it doesn't take much!

I thought this thread was closed so I posted a reply on the new one

Oh well four weeks today and it will be last day at work before the holiday!!:yay::yay:

Thought we may as well jump in. My wife Shanna and I will be leaving on 9/15 and staying at Le Meridien. We are in 6128 on the Magic. Looking forward to seeing all of you.

Hi and welcome:wave:

To other newcomers too, I think I might have missed someone.

OMG yes!!! I've been a Macophile ;) since doing a course in Digital Design about 8 years ago... I do all my design stuff on an iMac and have a MacBook Pro for everyday use. Looking forward to testing out the iPad on the WBTA... :goodvibes

I'm bringing my iPad, but won't have wifi, so it won't be too much use to me on the cruise!!

And phooey- looks like no scuba diving for me. Sorry to hear about the ear/sinus problems. I hope all the treatment works well and quickly for you. I have never heard of ear stones either, how strange.
Try not to worry about your weight. Easy to say I know. Focus on your medical problem and then enjoy the cruise.

LOL Thanks!

I am sorry that you are unwell and hope you will be better by the time the cruise comes along. Has the doctor said anything about your fitness to fly? I know that on the airline I work for, the problems that you have described would put you firmly in the "unacceptable conditions for flying" category.

Corinna

Will all you early packers PLEASE STOP IT NOW!

You are making this little last minute packer very stressed!!!:scared1::scared1::scared1::rotfl2:

I was concerned about that too. If nothing else it can be very painful flying with sinus/ear problems. But, you have plenty of time to get it cleared up.

I have had barotrauma on 3 flights now and I can cry just thinking about it. I didn't have any known sinus problem either.

I am also a last minute packer. I will back in the morning of September 15th and that is early for me. I am on a late shift that day so will pack before I head for work. On September 16th I am on an early shift and will take my suitcase to work and then head straight from there to the airport as we are staying at one of the airport hotels the night before we fly out.

Corinna

4 weeks today and we will be into our second full day in Barcelona, and looking forward to more cruise friends arriving!!!

Thanks to all who have sent kind words and prayers.....amazing what these things do....as well as antibiotics.....she is feeling a little better.....they have been pushing bag after bag of the antibiotics into her.....so again....thanks for t he kind words!

That's good to hear, Tom - hope she continues to improve...
