It is so obvious why they have so few daybed rooms. I cannot believe this didn't occur to us until now. :confused3 Of course the daybeds are all waiting for us in the closet.

And, I completely agree that we need to be the perfect hostesses with a margarita machine (need to insert a slushie emoticon here). I will be most happy to test all margaritas before serving. :woohoo:

I'm pretty new to this BC/YC board but I do believe I'm starting to bond with you MarltonMom. I was originally tlhinking I'd have to pay and live in a regular CL room when I moved to the BC/YC, but why would I do that when our "closet" is going to be waayyyy better than any room that WDW would offer their paying guests.

party:

Before I commit to a stay at the "Moms' Closet Retreat and Spa", I need more information about the view options. Do you offer anything other than "TP roll view" and "Sheet storage". I'm hoping for something in the "Towel Animal" category.

I've always wanted to make towel annimals, so I'm sure we can arrange that view. :rotfl2: Might even throw in a few different coloured towels for extra fun!

I've read through about 95 pages of this thread so far...and I have a question!

We are a family of 6 (with a small 2 year old) and have a BC GV CL room reserved. It sounds like the odds of us getting a daybed are SLIM at this category. We need a daybed AND a crib....do you think I should change my category to Standard View CL so we can get a room that will fit us? We can't really afford to move up to a Deluxe room, unfortunately. We are booked under the current GP discount. The other option would be to switch to a regular Garden View non-CL room at YC and save almost $400! (BC is full for the GP discount). Its a short stay at the end of our trip so we mostly care about SAB!

Only 35 days to go and I'm SOOOOOOOOOO excited! :):yay:

Wow-I can't ever keep up with this thread!!! LOL! It grows so fast! :rotfl:

Dee-you can add us in for July 21-27 @ the Beach Club CL!!!

We're telling the girls tomorrow somehow on Easter (trying to figure out how right now! LOL!) to make it official!

Hubby just turned 40, so what better place to go than to WDW since the MK is turning 40 this year too!:cheer2::woohoo:

I can't wait!!! 89 more days!!!!!!! See you again soon Teena!!!!!:cheer2:

If you don't get a daybed you can always get a rollaway bed (free). You can then just fold it up during the day and have it out of your way. My Mom did this when we did our GG. She shared the BC GV CL room with her 3 grandsons and they had a room with 2 queens. No problem fitting the rollaway, and they just put it up during the day.

I wouldn't switch the the non-cl room. With a family your size (we travel as a family of 5) the breakfasts alone are worth the extra money!

Are all the cribs pack n plays that fold up, too? I am picturing us climbing over a pack n play and a rollaway in the middle of the night to use the bathroom...ha....:rotfl:

Robyn - O.K. now I am on "plan C" - thinking about purchasing an annual pass (currently planning a ladies trip for November & could use annual pass for this as well), so no dining plan and we could get the TIW card (discounts on alcohol as well! - love a good glass of wine w/ dinner).

Have you had any problems w/ the TIW card? According to Allears just present before ordering? Seems like this would really work for us and family of men!

How exciting!!! I was going to mention the DIS meet, but Robyn beat me to it!

How about an Easter egg with mouse ears? Or putting a message in one of those plastic eggs- have a couple that the girls could find at the same time.

No answer for the crib, however, we did have a GV CL room last year w/ a rollaway. The rollaway fit by the door to balcony. We folded up during the day and the room had plenty of room. I could imagine the crib could fit along the wall w/ the dresser.

With your family size CL would certainly be the way to go!

If I'm not mistaken, you have been booked as a family of 5 (not counting the 2 year old). I would assume that you have to be given a room that will sleep you all- that is, a room with a daybed. If the chances of getting that are slim in the view/room type category you booked, that is not your fault.

At checkin, make sure that your room is acceptable and offers the sleeping options you need, including the appropropriate amount of room for the additonal crib.

If not, you need to ask for a manager to help you out.

I don't think you should change the room you reserved.

We've saved over $200 on dining over the past year with our TIW card. We bought it last April and used it for that family trip plus our family trip this past February/March. I also used it a little with two quick weekend trips with friends. We'll be buying another one in November.

We didn't have any trouble using it. When the CM would ask if we were on the dining plan I would just mention that we had a TIW card and presented it when the bill came.

Caveat newbies re: the day beds, we are just KIDDING about any daybeds being in the Housekeeping closet....... Please continue with your regularly scheduled Beach club thread 'spoof'. ~MM

And with the kickin sound system we can have different theme nights like "Totally 80's", "Country bumpkin" "Nuevo Wave-o" and the dreaded "Disco Nights"! Should we charge admission at the door to make a buck or two like we did in college? And what about getting a discount if you wear your speedo for Disco nights?.... maybe NOT! We better have a dress code to keep the speedo's out!

"TP roll view"...... What closet are you in???

Oh Dee! Don't you know all you have to do is take the sign off of the housekeeping closet door and put it on any of the deluxe suite rooms and the staff would be none the wiser? They gave up and let that computer take over! The Staff has NO Idea what's up with the rooms. If it says "water view full balcony housekeeping closet" in the data base then that's the gospel according to the staff. In fact the only hairy part of the whole deal is when you have to hang the "do not disturb" sign on the house keeping closet door. THAT can raise an eyebrow or two so we don't keep it up there for very long......

No problems at all - usually when the server came over they would ask if we were on the dining plan and we would just tell them we had TIW. I can't remember if we had to show it to them then, or just when we got the check.

Don't forget you can use the TIW at AK cs restaurants too!
DH has used it at the Ale and Compass too.

Thank you for sharing your experience! Think the TIW is the way to go especially, as you did, extra trips planned later this year.

Thanks Robyn. We are still planning to drive leaving July 15th evening and drive through the night. This could be a whole different kind of trip this year!

We're leaving the evening of July 12 and driving straight through too!
Should I leave clues at the rest stops?

I was a nervous wreck the first time we did this, but now I found out I like it!
After all our airline troubles last year driving straight through has to be more relaxing than dealing with the "Customer Service" at Air Tran!!!!

OK, for the Housekeeping Closet and Spa stays, I think I just saw a way to make some additional income. I mean you can charge the slushies (just operating costs of course) and you will have the best testing responsibilities but you could also make and sell TOWEL ANIMALS! Reading here on Dis, they seem to be in hot demand and the mousekeepers don't seem to be making them fast enough on their off hours so you could make them and sell them! Just something to do to make up some extra cash for when someone wants something from the Marketplace or HH or Beaches and Cream for a snack (if the CL stuff gets old and boring)!

Oh yes, I remember your airline troubles last year. That was not fun for you.

OK hope I feel the same about driving after the trip. We shall see.....at least we will have 3 drivers and 4 if you count DS15 getting his permit in June (could be a little scary!). You should leave me clues, that would be funny. Will get more advice from you closer to our trip.

Also, where do you stay your first arrival night, thought you mentioned an off property hotel you liked? Let me know, we are trying to figure out if check into YC July 16 or stay a night and rest someplace else.
