***Official November 2013***

Has anybody gotten a reservation for BOG on a MVMCP night or are they closing it up for the party like they did late year?

I had a reservation for 2 to bog on Friday, nov 22 but then I realized it was a mvmcp and I changed it. I didn't want to pay twice to get into the event since I picked a different day. So yes they have reservations open :)

I'm thinking about attending the MVMCP on the 14, is that a good day?

It is a 1.1 out of 10 crowd, BUT this is where it confuses me...it is a neutral park day..yet the following night..the 15th is also a 1.1 day but a best park day:confused3 I would think Friday would be an avoid day because it's Friday

Thank you so much! I thought the Friday would be busy too that's why I chose the Thursday.

Usually the crowds at MK are lighter during the day when there is a MVMCP that evening since people do not want to use a park ticket on a day that MK closes early at 7 PM for the party.

The projected crowd levels for the day has nothing to do with how busy the MVMCP will be on a particular night, only the daytime crowds.

So then I guess it doesn't matter what night...right? Whichever night works better for us?

We love POR. The food court is awesome and the ambiance is amazing. We are a family of five and do just fine there. Let me know if you need any tips. You will also want to check out portorleans.org. Andre is amazing!!!

I think we're destined to stay at POR, lol!!

DH and I went to Disney for our honeymoon 14 yrs ago and stayed there (was Dixie Landings at that time).. that was both our first times ever to Disney. Then 9 yrs later when we decided to take dd's for the first time, we loved it so much we ended up going back there.

Fast forward 5 yrs, and we thought we might never afford to get back to Disney, :( Then I ended up getting a free dining pin, and made tentative plans to stay at POP. But then got to thinking that my mom had never been to Disney and would love to go.. brought the idea up to her which she LOVED, so switched to POR to be able to stay in 1 room. And best part is, she's insisting on paying for the difference in price plus some, so we'll be getting a better dining plan and even saving money.

Can't wait, :goodvibes

Thinking we might never venture from there, lol!

I know the first Party, this year Friday Nov8th is very busy if not a sell out as it falls this year on Veterans Day weekend plus is on a Friday which tend to be busier due to "locals" attending. Thursday nights are normally a better day as are Tuesdays and Sundays.

Its our first party and thats what I was figuring so I made sure to get tickets the first day they went on sale.

I got up yesterday morning at 5:00 (we were camping and we didn't have very good phone/internet service) to make sure I was ready to go when the window opened for my ADRs. I was able to get most of the reservations I wanted via the computer at 6am. Then at 6:55 I dialed the reservation number and was placed on hold. I held the phone for 32 min when a CM answered the phone and said "Mama I can't get you to the survey line at this time I am having phone problems." I responded by saying I was not holding for the survey line and she must have lost the previous caller but I needed to make a reservation. She said "Ok" and hung up the phone. :confused3 I was so upset. By now it was 7:38 so I dialed the number again. I held for 20 min when my phone said "CALL FAILED" and I lost the call. :( By now I was almost in tears. I called one more time using both my phone and my DH's. This way I figure if one cuts off at least I have a backup. So at 8:32 I hear a CM on my phone asking how she can help. I told her I needed to make a few ADRs and she was able to help me book all of the ones I wanted except 1900 Park Fare. She said the November dates for 1900 had not been realized yet and for me to check back tomorrow. She was also able to book our BBB and Pirate Make Over too. I was off the phone at 9:45.

I checked back a few times via the computer last night and made two more phone calls during the day still trying to get 1900 but I didn't have any luck.

:cool1: I'm so excited!!!! I just booked 1900 Park Fare via the computer so now I have all the ADRs that my family wanted. We were also able to get the times we wanted except BOG. The only time available was 8:55 for dinner. I don't really like to eat that late, however, the kids said they couldn't go to MK without eating with the Beast.

Still working on these dates. I am waiting to see if my niece is going to dance in the Christmas Parade again. If she does dance then I will spend most of these days at MK with her. If she doesn't dance then I want to go back to Epcot and Animal Kingdom with a day at Downtown Disney.

Alayne those are fabulous ADRs , I was wondering when the desserts party reservations would open up I believe it's a 60 day before window but I am unsure.

I am still trying for BOG and still trying to convince my hubby on Victoria and Alberts he is a meat and potatoes only type of eater....extremely picky.

Oh man......Maybe one day we will be able to have a Dis meet.

I have been reading some great stuff on the boards about some of the different things you can say/so to get better pictures with characters - FUN!!!!

What kinds of tips have you found for the character pictures? I am always interested in things like that.
We are arriving November 26 and leave Dec. 7th. No lodging definitely but that will all be settled tomorrow. We are traveling with my entire family. Six adults and 1 child in all. The child will be 5. We have already purchased our tickets for the Mickey Christmas Party and have all of our meals/ days planned. Wish we could get free dining for our whole trip instead we are breaking our trip into two reservations and checking out half way through the trip to be able to be eligible for what is being offered. We are at a 180 days out on Thursday so I get to call then to make 9 reservations and book the tours.

alayne - congrats on all your ADRs!!! Sounds like you have a fantastic plan!

:welcome: I am usually so excited (and, ahem, so are my kids...) when we meet the chracters that they get animated as well. For example, I literally was bouncing last trip when I took DS (then 3) to meet Tigger. I told Tigger he's one of my favs (sorry...Figment comes first). He started bouncing with me and playing with my son. Also, last trip, I was finally able to score Frontierland Donald. I was so excited and just kept blabbering on about how great it was to see him in his coonskin cap. He was animated as well and we did a whole bunch of poses for the camera.

I just think if you show enthusiasm, it's a better interaction.

Hope this helps!!!

So excited. Yest afternoon they finally got nov 23rd loaded for CRT breakfast. I scored an 8:10 am coveted time since park doesn't open til 9 that day as of right now. My niece who is 7 and this will be her first trip will be over the moon. And so will I

So excited to read about everyone getting their ADR's! I'm still 3 days out before I can start, and still aren't 100% sure where we want to have Thanksgiving dinner. We need to figure it out. I'm looking forward to the excitement of booking! lol

Has anyone had the stuffed mushroom pasta from Akershus or the mushroom pasta from T-rex in downtown? Are they similar to each other? thanks

I am doing a happy dance our return flights dropped by $25 per ticket so I now have $50 in credits towards our next trip. :)
