Calling all Princesses! (2014 Princess Half Marathon Weekend)- thread #2

it should, but when they are still identifying there's a note at the top of the page saying "we are still identifying photos from this race." that note is now gone on mine. i even looked through the unidentified and found none of tiana, so i don't get it. i KNOW there was a MF photographer there because i don't have a picture on my camera and i definitely stopped there.

The banner "still id'ing" has been gone on mine, but still more came.
And abbreviating marathonfoto made me laugh really hard or maybe you meant to do that. They are so disliked

;) that was unintended on the marathonfoto abbreviation, but so well fitting!

i'm just not going to look again until i get home-home next week.

So for next year, would submitting even my very slow times from this year -- 1:38 10k, 3:34 half -- move me up a corral or two for the half? I was in P this year and it was a struggle at times to get around people. I was also afraid to stop for anything because I didn't feel I had any cushion from the dreaded balloon ladies. Even being in O would have given me the confidence to stop for a few pictures-- or to at least use the bathroom lol.

It could - it's absolutely worth submitting!

DD and I stayed at BLT. I think the monorail was very nice to use. Only mishap that happened was that we weren't paying close attention to the signs on the way back from Epcot and got off the monorail from Epcot at the transfer hub, went down the ramp and back up the next ramp. We were busy chatting and suddenly realized we were on our way back to Epcot! :lmao: Almost did this a second time until we asked a cm if we were on the right one. He said no and we had to go down the ramp against oncoming people and walk a little farther to the ramp under the sign that said Resorts...:rolleyes1 I don't know what we were looking at that led us to the wrong one. We've never stayed at a monorail resort before and usually have DH and my boys to follow..

Friends staying at Pop said they had to wait 1 and 1/2 hours for the bus after the race and it was VERY hot in the sun!

The monorail was a little bit of a walk from where you end because you have to go back to the front of Epcot, but it's really not a big deal.

Note about BLT - the night before the marathon, we went to bed at 8, only to be woken at 10 to the BOOMS of Wishes!! We had MK view and could also hear the ferry boats honking and the train whistling. Not a wise choice for the night before the marathon I guess :(, but great for Sunday night when we just couldn't get ourselves to the park like I had hoped.

Thanks so much! How were the crowds on the way to the race?

If at all possible, I would train hard and find a 10k to submit an even better time. Just my theory once you have done Disney it is only worth doing if you can stop and soak in the atmosphere. Using a real bathroom inside the Magic Kingdom is worth the 5 mins.

Hi, We had an awesome time at the race.
I was looking through some of the unidentified pictures on Marathonfoto and it looks like there is a marriage proposal going on in front of the castle. If you look at the unidentified pictures, female, CND- Magic Kingdom, on page 8-9 you can see the pictures. It is so sweet!

We left our villa about 3:15ish and, as we were getting onto the monorail (maybe 3:30), there were only about 20 of us. It was nice to be able to follow others ;) on the way there. It was definitely nothing crowded! At least, not at that time.

I was at BLT too. It was great on the way to the race, first stop was TTC. I got on monorail at 5 for the 5k, and 4:00 for the 10k and 13.1. All times I went there was no wait, no crowds at all, everyone easily got seats. It is a bit of a walk to start area from the monorail, but I thought it was a great warm up, and for the return, a great cool down. If I sit and relax too soon I stiffen up. The slow walk back to the monorail with the kids was the perfect way to stay loose:). I hope we can get BLT again next year, it's not our home resort, so we will see. But I may not go for Theme Park view. Firework wake ups were rough;)

Saw those too - I posted about it in the facebook group I'm in just in case she is part of it , or maybe somebody there knows her! So sweet!!

First of all I am having trouble letting go of this thread because I feel like I know you all. :)

I signed up for the ToT but am thinking of doing wine and dine also. I already booked POFQ for ToT but am looking into suggestions for wine and dine. I will probably go solo for wine and dine but I am not sure. :)

I totally agree about the TPv! I would not do that again! I think the fireworks were so loud that it wouldn't have mattered what view you get. I don't plan on doing another WDW marathon, though :rolleyes2 Proud of myself for doing it twice!

I'm doing my first half and Disney run this Nov for Wine and Dine half. We are staying at Beach Club.

Thanks so much to both of you!!! Right now, we're thinking split stay - GF and then BWI. So we'd take the monorail for the 5K and the bus for the marathon. Your posts are really helpful - I saw the monorails ran for all the races this year, and the kids would have a ton of fun traveling to the race via monorail!

Same here! Not that I signed up for ToT or W&D, but that it's tough to let go of this thread. We had such a great time during PHM weekend and, at least in our experience, everything was so well organized and easy to navigate. It was really impressive and I'm so looking forward to our next runDisney weekend. We have other travel planned for later this year, so our next one will be the 2015 Marathon Weekend. I am not a huge princess fan generally, but I really loved PHM weekend. Hard to imagine another race weekend can beat it!

PrincessV, LOVED the race report on your blog!

Do you know what Lisa looks like? I ask because before we reached MK (I think that's where we were, I was quite disoriented on the highway stretches ;)) there was a lady coaching two princesses and I couldn't help but overhear her. She was phenomenal the way she was encouraging them and talking them through every step of the way. :worship: It sounded as if she was their trainer perhaps. I made a point to tell her she was awesome! Anyway, just curious - this lady was a blonde wearing mostly black clothing with a hat.

:goodvibes

Nope she is a WISHer here and we met in real life for the first time even though we've known each other for years. She was wearing a WISH lime green shirt and a sparkleskirt.

Did she have a blue sparkly bow in her hair? I only saw one WISHer and she and I swapped positions back and forth for quite a while!

Ok, thanks; too bad. I'd love to find the Lisa I saw. :)

No, Lisa had a headband or bandana and she has short blonde hair.
You might have been swapping with one of the Maria's. she was wearing a WISH shirt and might have had a blue bow.
