Oh we are celebrating hubby's 50 th bday and my new career with this trip and first ever deluxe resort.

Does anyone have any photos of the garden view rooms views and requests to make with a garden view room?

What days of the week is the kids pirate cruise offered?

Here is the info I have on the Albatross Cruise- not sure what days and I'm not positive of the contact number- the reservations line / (407) WDW-PLAY????

Anyone know?

Albatross Treasure Cruise
Little buccaneers sail the high seas to exotic "Ports of Call" along Crescent Lake and EPCOT in search of treasure. Pirates must be ages 4 to 12.

Albatross Treasure Cruise Reviews:

Pirates Cruise Review- At World's End

Nole95, May 2013:
In regards to the Pirate cruise, I highly recommend it. The kids did it on Wednesday morning and had a blast. Even though it poured on them at the beginning of the trip, they did not complain about getting soaked. Since there was no lightning, the trip continued on. The cast members were great and made sure all the kids had fun. Great way for mom and dad to have a couple hours of quiet time in the middle of the trip.

Mmrules:
Last summer I sent my sons ages 4 and 6 on this cruise and it was one of the highlights of the trip!!! The woman "pirates" were awesome! They played the parts well and made boarding the boat very easy for my boys (the 4 year old doesn't socialize easily). They heard the legend of the treasure, docked at Canada in Epcot (while it was empty) and found treasure there. THen they chased the bad pirate on their boats. They also got some "loot" when the cruise was over. It was great and I am going to sign them up again next summer when we go!!! He would love it!!!

Disneymomx7:
My kids and my grandkids have done the Albatross Cruise and LOVED it. My kids like it even better that the Pirate Cruise from the GF and my dgs said it was his favorite part of his Disney trip!!!!

Drmomof3:
My children did it in August, 2010. Jessica was 4 and Nathaniel was 6. There were plenty of "solo" children on the cruise and they both made friends. It was definitely a highlight of the trip for them and it gave me some quality time with my neglected 3rd child (he wasn't old enough).

Does anyone have any photos of the garden view rooms views and requests to make with a garden view room?

Here is the info about views from the FAQ post (Post 13) on the first page of this thread.

Two popular requests for the YC GV category are wedding gazebo view or back entrance courtyard (lakeside) view.

:thumbsup2

What will the view from my room be?

Effective with reservations on January 1, 2011, the view categories at the Beach and Yacht Clubs were reclassified into 3 booking categories:

Standard view- parking lot or rooftops
Garden view- something green- trees or courtyard
Lagoon or Water view- lake or pool

I started up three View Threads in the Resort Photo Subforum:

Beach Club Room Views

Yacht Club Room Views

Beach Club Villas Room View

The purpose of these threads is to give some samples of rooms in various view categories (standard, garden, lagoon/pool) at the Yacht and Beach Clubs.

Please note that we generally do not recommend that you request a particular room number for your stay at the resort, but instead let the room assigner know what is most important to you:

Full Balcony?
Close to Elevator?
Close to Lobby/Pool/Transportation?
Daybed?

If you request a particular room number, and that room is not available on the day you are checking in, the room assigner may not know the attributes of the room you want, so you may not get the room that best suits your needs.

For MNSSHP we are dressing up in a Star Wars theme. It's about the only theme I could get the hubs into!

Self: Princess Leia
DH: Han Solo
DD: Storm Trooper (really cute dress)
DD: Darth Vader (really cute dress)
DS: Luke Skywalker

We "summer-ized" our costumes so we wouldn't be too hot, but I think we will get the point across. It's Star Wars on vacation. :)

I'm off to a meeting, but will post a picture of my girls in costume when I get back.

Well, I procrastinated too long and as such will not get to do the F&W Premium Package. :sad1: When I called yesterday - low and behold they had removed the Tuesday night late nights and I won't be there on a Thursday night. If only I had not procrastinated! I wouldn't taken the discount offered and kept the package. Maybe this was a sign the package wasn't going to be any good anyhow, right?

FWIW, it has nothing to do with your procrastination, as they've cancelled all the Tuesday premium packages. Had you booked it earlier, you would have gotten a call telling you that it was no longer available. I believe there is a thread on the Dining boards about the Tuesday cancellations and all the consternation it's causing people who actually had booked it.

Popping in before I get ready for work this morning. Today I am tending sheep/goats in an offsite location. The farm I work for has an awesome program, Sheep to Shawl, a hands-on class where we describe all the steps in the process of making wool clothing from shearing the sheep, to spinning the wool into yarn.

I'm sorry to tell you this Dee but the goats hijacked the goatmobile and took a field trip to the beach without you....

Here is a post from their Facebook page.

Apparently they are NOT sorry that they are without their chaperone.... :rolleyes1

I'm sitting in BC waiting for our magical "depress". Does anyone want pics of anything while I'm waiting?

Here is the updated Be Our Guest list.

Please take a moment to check it out to make sure I have your information listed correctly.

Post 15: Be Our Guest list

.

Sorry I'm new to all this a nd it will be our first visit to the BC this December 27-30. We are also taking a cruise prior and are part of the Meets so I understand the purpose of that. What exactly is the purpose of the Be Our Guest list? :confused3

Thanks! Very excited for our Holiday visit

The Beach Club is incredibly popular and we usually book it as early as we can to guarantee a room. The last time we tried to book a room at the Beach Club in January, the standard and garden view rooms were sold out and we had to stay at the BWI. We used to go that week in January, too. The Christmas crowd had gone back home and there tended to be low crowds. We usually ran into marathon weekend, but that never bothered us.

Thank you!

It's just for fun. If I'm going, I can check the list to see if I recognize the Dis user names of the other people who will be there at the same time.

So if, for example, I saw that NateBenMa was going to be there at the same time as me, I would get all excited because I've never had the chance to thank her in person for keeping up this thread.

Anyone know the YC Manager's name?

We are going back in 43 days!! and I never sent a "Kudos" letter for Kenneth and the CL team and I wanted to let the Manager know how awesome they made the trip in July.

I figured it would be better in person then a letter that might never get to the actual Resort Manager.

Does anyone know the latest on placing gift cards on your account upon check in. Honestly, I don't mind going down to the Front Desk every so often, but would LOVE it if I could just load them all on there when I check in.

Last year....I was able to do that...the year before only a limited amount. So I am not sure what's going on now?

Hello!!!! Checked in yesterday & arrived at 11:30 am & room was ready!! My only request was full balcony & we got it! Room is perfect view a gorgeous view of storm along bay! I have no clue how to post pics, sorry. We are club level & love it! We never did cl before so I have nothing to compare it to. We don't mind the construction mess since hubby is in construction so it's normal to him, hahaha! Crowds are low, didn't even need fast passes. Used one for soarin since we happened to be there at that time. Gotta say it is hot & humid!!!! Thanks to all here for your advice!

I'm so glad you got a great room! You and Eddie have a wonderful time and Happy Anniversary!!!:goodvibes

We always get garden view and it is most often the side of the resort that faces Epcot, or more accurately, faces the trees between BC and Epcot. That view sometimes includes the high fireworks from Illuminations. Our last room had a view of the fireworks and was so close to the British Revolution band in the World Showcase that it felt like we were right there, listening to it. :)

Our only request is a full balcony, since only about 50% of the rooms at the BC have the full balcony and I want to increase the chance of getting one by only making one request. Some garden view rooms will be on the lake side of the resort and have a sideways view, or better, of Crescent Lake. :) So if that view appeals to you, ask for it.

I will have you know that the animals made it safely to town and back to the farm.

The guy on the left is Cloud, and he is an Angora goat (not a sheep) and the one on the right is Virgil, a Shetland sheep

Thanks so much for the offer- have a safe trip home!

:welcome:

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list for December, which, as others has said, is just for fun and to see who else will be there while you are there.

:woohoo:

For example, if you see Ninja Mom on the list at the same time as you, you may want to take precautions. Wish I had!

:sad2:

The general manager for both the Yacht and Beach Club resorts is Mim Flynn (a woman)- I have the address on the first page of the thread- I'll edit it into this response in a minute.

Thanks for taking the time to recognize someone who helped to make your trip special!

:thumbsup2

Here it is:

I don't know the answer- hopefully someone who has done this recently will respond.

:)

I used to work for a company that was based in the UK. We once put together a big box of US snacks for our British colleagues and sent it over to them via interoffice mail since there was a lot of speculation about different yummies available here.

Also, I'm not sure if you saw my post earlier...but were you on the 4th floor of the YC? I'm pretty sure we walked by your decorated door several times during our trip!

Yes! That was us

I was just there (YC) and loaded gift cards onto our room. I only did $1000 but they didn't mention a limit to me. Have a great trip!
