Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB RESORTS Information & Questions

Here at YC now. So far I think it's very nice but feel the service at Pop was better. I'm with a large family group with 4 rooms. All of our family are in rooms next to each other and we are around the corner next to the elevator and ice machine. It's so loud, I've slept maybe two hours. This is after asking for rooms next to each other. How can three families get rooms next to each other and one not?? We put in a request weeks ago. Also our shower door doesn't close and slides open getting water everywhere. I'm not happy to say the least and no one at front desk seems to care. All we keep being told is that there is a convention here and it's full. Wish I was back at POR or POP. Looking for some advice on what to do. I've never complained at WDW. It's always been wonderful. May it's my lack of sleep.

Sorry things aren't going well for you. You should ask to speak with the manager "on duty" to express your concerns. There are many "managers" that are usually circulating throughout the lobby but the manager on duty will be the most effective in responding to your concerns. Make sure you get the names of everyone you speak with about your issues and if appropriate follow-up with an e-mail to "wdw.guest.communications@disneyworld.com" when you return home.

This! :thumbsup2

Several years ago, I was in a 1 bedroom villa at the Boardwalk. I was out of clean clothes, went to do laundry, and discovered that the washer in my room was broken. I pressed the button on the phone for... it's been so long I don't remember exactly. Engineering, maybe? Anyway, they came, they were wonderful, they fixed it. So my advice is, see if there is a button on your room phone for engineering or something like that. If you don't see that, try housekeeping, tell them something is broken in your room, and ask them to transfer you. (Never press the button on the phone for the front desk, because you'll get someone off-site.)

Honest Opinions: Beach or Yacht Club is there a big difference?
Big difference? I would have to say no. Tangible differences? Yes! Little subtleties like lobby atmosphere, shopping, lounges and restaurants. I have not stayed at the YC in a while but it seems like the room renovations are meeting with mixed reviews. On the other hand BC renovations seem more favorable to guests who have stayed there. All [99.5%] rooms at YC have full balconies or patios. BC has less and some are not full balconies. Both have access to SAB and the Ship Shape health club, arcade are centrally located for both resorts. Add another 2 - 3 minutes for walk from YC to Epcot, but the YC is closer to the Friendship Boat dock. I'm sure there are other differences, but these best reflect my observations.

Hi everyone! I will be staying at BCV on rented points next May 22-25th. I am sure to forget all the tips I read on here, but hoping some things might be remembered while I am there. Looking forward to my trip to help me through the eight months of winter I face.

BtW it's been a week since I've been on these boards and even though I'm logged in I am seeing ads in the comments. Is this new? Or just something wonky.

My family will be staying at the Yacht Club from October 28-November 4. I'm patiently (ok not so patiently!) waiting for the October Recreation Calendar to be posted somewhere. Any chance there is someone currently there who could get that info? Specifically I am looking to see what the resort has planned for Halloween. Any info would be greatly appreciated!

We're down to 66 days on the December trip and I have a question. I think I've seen this one addressed before, but I already spend enough time on here without going back through 20,905 posts.

We've booked a BC Garden View room again, but I know I've seen pictures some of you have taken from your Garden View balconies that show at least a little bit of the lagoon. Theoretically speaking, what would one put on their reservation request to get the best chance at one of the GV rooms that shows a little bit of water? Volleyball court; South side of Hotel...?

Volleyball Court would be the one that has the best chance of seeing a sideways view of the lagoon.

So I did a very irresponsible thing this morning!! I booked flights for a quick December trip!!! We don't have a resort reservation and my husband doesn't have the time off yet but man did I get a good deal on those flights!! We keep saying that since we have the APs it is totally worth it, lol. We had a credit through SW that needed to be used and points so all together it was only $200 for all three of us, how could we pass that up?!?! We probably won't be staying at the BC since this needs to be a budget trip, but I know we will be stopping by to see our favorite resort.

This will be me and DH’s first time staying at Beach Club Villas and I have a quick question. On our check-in day, we are getting to the hotel around 8am and I’m guessing our room won’t be ready at that time. We plan on enjoying SAB during the day - where would be the best place to change if our room isn’t available yet? We don’t want to wear our bathing suits on the plane but i’ll be bringing them in our carryon. Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks!
