Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB RESORTS Information & Questions

This will be me and DH’s first time staying at Beach Club Villas and I have a quick question. On our check-in day, we are getting to the hotel around 8am and I’m guessing our room won’t be ready at that time. We plan on enjoying SAB during the day - where would be the best place to change if our room isn’t available yet? We don’t want to wear our bathing suits on the plane but i’ll be bringing them in our carryon. Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks!

They have a [recently new] shower /changing room adjacent to SAB. Women's, Mens, and Unisex. It's located right next to the arcade near Beaches and Cream. Other options include any restroom at the resort.

Thank you so much! This is extremely helpful!

I just returned from my Yacht Club trip (27th-1st) and DH and I had an incredible time. Our room was great, and it was so nice staying so close to Epcot, especially given how hot it was. We had dinner in The Crew's Cup lounge on Thursday, to get out of the rain, and greatly enjoyed the burger. On Wed, Thurs, and Fri we went to F&W at 11am and found the booths pretty empty until about 1pm. We cooled off in SAB every afternoon, I expected it to be extremely crowded given the heat, but we never had any issues at all, we were always able to get two chairs in the shade and float around the pool without running into too many people, and DH enjoyed the slide thoroughly. We really liked Pandora, and thought that the update to Mission Space green was nice. I hit Epcot's 35th anniversary on Sunday, by myself, and was able to get two nice pins, as well as two Figment Funko POP figurines for my efforts. Great trip and cannot wait to return!

Edited to add: The shower facilities are fantastic! It was go amazing to be able to shower after getting back from Epcot on Sunday, and before I got on my plane back to CA (I am sure all of my fellow passengers were thankful for that shower too as it was really hot).

What is the latest time that SAB opens up? I mean even in the dead of winter, I would think it would open up no later than like 10:00? Earlier during the summer months?

Hi all! After the discounts shook out, I decided I should just go ahead and upgrade to Yacht Club for my March 3 trip. I am unbelievably excited! I love this thread and am just starting to get acquainted with it. Haven't been to the YC/BC since I was a kid.

Have all the rooms been refurbished now? I have a garden view room and love the look of the refurbed rooms, but wasn't sure they all had that sleek look and wood floor.

Also, does it take a good 10 minutes to get from YC to Epcot? I would love to be right there at the BC, but YC had the discount.

Yes, YC refurb is complete. And 10 minutes is probably about right. But it's such a pretty walk you won't mind :)

Here at YC now. So far I think it's very nice but feel the service at Pop was better. I'm with a large family group with 4 rooms. All of our family are in rooms next to each other and we are around the corner next to the elevator and ice machine. It's so loud, I've slept maybe two hours. This is after asking for rooms next to each other. How can three families get rooms next to each other and one not?? We put in a request weeks ago. Also our shower door doesn't close and slides open getting water everywhere. I'm not happy to say the least and no one at front desk seems to care. All we keep being told is that there is a convention here and it's full. Wish I was back at POR or POP. Looking for some advice on what to do. I've never complained at WDW. It's always been wonderful. May it's my lack of sleep.

So it's only gotten worse as the day has gone on. While at Mk my wife tried to purchase something w/our band. Only to be told our cc was maxed out. We were mortified as were with her entire family. Quick call to Disney visa and our account is more than fine. Go to guest services to find out our card was put in the system under s different profile!!! Theirs is all during MNSSHP. I spent one hour doing this while my family was enjoying the party. Then I go to get snacks and am told the pin doesn't work. My wife comes over and her pin (same one) works. Happens again the next time. Back to GS another 30 minutes in line. Spoke to manager on duty but really not much was accomplished but her sympathy. And now I've taken a shower, stepped out to an inch of water b/c shower will not close, and am laying here w/ear plugs listening to the beeping of the ice machine and the sounds of elevators going up and down again. So tired and frustrated, I guess I just expected more from a deluxe resort.

I'm really sorry to hear of the problems you've had so far. All those things would frustrate me, too. I would be disappointed if I had to miss out on that much party time by fixing issues at guest services. :headache:

I don't have any new suggestions besides a polite but objective discussion with the manager and maintenance (for the shower issue), and probably an email to guest services if needed after the trip. Try to write down the events that have happened and the problems with the shower, the card mix-up, the room noise; try to remember names of people you've spoken with, and approximate times of interactions. They might appreciate "suggestions" for better soundproofing in rooms near elevators/ice machines.

I hope they can at least move y'all tomorrow, or soon. Maybe others in your group are heavy sleepers and wouldn't mind switching rooms? Gah! How long are you there for?

And when you said your card was put in the system under a different profile... do you mean another guest? Someone inside, or outside, of your party? :scared:

Hope you can catch some sleep tonight and that the rest of your trip improves from here. :grouphug:

(P.S. at a certain point of sleep deprivation, you will have to do this (link) in SAB. that will get attention!)

I am so excited! We are heading to YC in March (3-10)... and our TA called and got us the discount that applied today! We saved over $1000 on our stay! super excited to save money and it'll be our first stay!

Those are my dates too! I'm really good excited as well! First stay at YC, stayed at BC many years ago.

I'm sorry you're having difficulties. If it were me, I would:

a) Use my phone to take a photo of the shower issue

b) Go down to the front desk, ask for a manager and show them the picture on your phone.
Also, while I'm standing in front of them, I would write down their name.
Then I would ask them for the phone number and email address where I should register a complaint.
I'm not saying I would actually send in a complaint about them - but if someone is not cooperative, they should be reminded that they can be held accountable.

c) Ask to be moved to a different room. I wouldn't care if that room was not near the rest of my family. You can always meet up outside the elevator on the ground floor, or at some other specified location.

d) If they won't move you to a new room, try to put in a call to engineering to get the shower fixed (I mentioned that before). If no engineering button the the phone, push the Housekeeping button.

e) Stop using my Magic Band for charging anything to the room. If I did not want to pull out my credit card each time I made a purchase, I would go to any gift shop and use my credit card to buy a Disney gift card.

I realize it's easy for me to say, when I'm sitting at home (procrastinating about getting ready for work). I know it's frustrating when there are problems with your hotel room.

So sorry about your continued problems. Early in the day is the best time to go down to the front desk for a room change. They may tell you nothing is available till later in the day, but, if you are still going to be there, beyond today, I would accept that. You can place your belongings in a family member's room, till new room is open.

I have stayed in a guest room that was backed up against a service elevator, and I heard that elevator run all hours of the day and night. It was sheer torture! Is your room next to passenger elevators or service elevator?

They should be able to move your room, though the new room might not be next to or near rooms of others in your party. It may be your call, as to what is more important.

I'm absolutely hopeless.

DH and I wanted to do Disney to see the Pandora stuff, since it wasn't open yet during our last trip which was over NYE. But Disney was going to be really expensive, and to maximize time we'd want to do that new (over-priced) AK VIP tour. So we decided to do Universal instead, since it would be cheaper, and we hadn't been since before either of the Harry Potter sections opened.

So, we booked a quick Easter long weekend trip to Universal. Thus I've got March 29 to April 2 booked at the Royal Pacific.

But today I noticed that Disney had a deal available. So now I've also got March 30 to April 2 booked at BC. And ADRs for each night. (Slow day at work equals too much time surfing the Disney sites.). But the AK tour isn't offered that weekend. Grr.

Now I'm not sure what to do. We are waiting for flights, and it's looking like that may be what decides it for us. One possible airline flies to MCO on the Thursday night and the other flies down Friday morning. Both are still way too expensive. The current plan is that whichever one goes on sale first wins, and we'll go to the park with the reservation that matches the flights. We prefer the airline that flies down on the Friday morning, but since we haven't been to Universal in nearly 20 years I'd want a full day there Friday, thus the idea of the not-so-preferred airline. For WDW, we've been enough times that a shorter stay is no problem.

Is it horrible to have two different trips booked for the same weekend? Do other people have problems committing to the idea of going somewhere other than WDW? I was perfectly fine with the idea of a Universal-only trip until the Disney deal came out. OMG, what is wrong with me?! I'm a total BC addict!

I have a reservation for the end of May for a few nights, but also plan to put down a deposit on another stay for probably sometimes in June for a few nights. Not real sure which dates are really going to work for us yet, heck dates in July could even be a possibility. I just have to wait until my TA releases their special rates for June/July. Certainly not going to count on Disney having much of any discount then.
