Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB RESORTS Information & Questions

Hi all! We checked in last night around 11pm. I actually got a room ready text at 11am while I was sitting in my living room. Ha!
We were lucky to get a room here at all, as it took some perseverance, calling daily, til something opened up. Major convention of some sort going on. So we were only able to get a standard view. It is a roof, facing the front of the resort, and trees. Can't see the ground because of the roof. However I can see the Epcot ball great off to the right. So all in all, not a bad room. I love the sitting area that is only a couple doors down from us. I am out here chilling while dd naps and I can still see our room.
It is raining today. I have the little one napping now. Was supposed to be a pool day for her and myself while DH and sons went on their fishing excursion. We were only out there 15 mins when started raining hard. She needs extra rest anyways. We have mnsshp tonight, so cross fingers it isn't raining the whole time.
This is a precruise stay so we only have today and tomorrow. We were hoping for some good pool time.

Here is the view...
Our daughter and her family are in Orlando today, too. In fact, they'll be at Cape May tonight. They are taking the Disney cruise on Friday - the Dream. I hope it stops raining for both of you. :)

Does anyone have the check in option show up yet? We aren't going until March! I thought it was 60 days prior but it's showing up now? Could it be a glitch or do they start this early now?
This is a brand new glitch. It just started showing up on Tuesday of this week. People are reporting mixed success with the online registration.

Does anyone know when/if there will be any stormalong refurbishments coming up? We are staying in Feb for 2 nights. Any ideas when they would announce it?

Please check out post #2 of this thread for details of past refurbishment. Should give you a good idea.

I saw the past refurb list. Im asking about when we will know about future refurbs. When do they announce it?

I have brought suction cups with hooks and hung Xmas lights on the sliding glass door at the Beach Club. When we stayed at the Boardwalk one year I hung Christmas lights inside the room. They were loosely draped over the frame of a picture and they made a great night light.

I always hang suction cup Xmas lights inside my room window at Plop Century, no matter when I stay. It makes it fun to find your room at night and the other kids staying near my room always wag their tails when they see them. I have heard a couple of families talking about them as I approached the room.

We stayed at Pop this summer, our first Value Resort, and it was the first time I saw decorated windows. I LOVED it!!! And spent the rest of the morning planning what to put in the windows during our POR split stay next summer!!! We're at the Poly in a few weeks, and now I'm thinking I may have to follow your excellent example of the lights and suction cups. :santa:

Well, this was supposed to be a solo trip at the Yacht Club, but my little sister has decided last minute to join me. I told her I have a lot planned and she can either tag along or do her own thing, but I'm not going to sit around and wait on her. That WHY I love solo trips, I can do whatever I want, whenever I want. Wish me luck haha!

This is what they have in the YC refurbed guest rooms, that are not Club Level. I don't know if Club Level rooms have different hair dryers, or not. I found this dryer to work very well on my heavier hair.
The hair dryer is Conair model 141WRW, which is manufactured for the hospitality market. It can be purchased from Amazon.

Description:1875 Watt Brushed Metal Dryer
• Upscale, Brushed Metal Barrel
• Full Salon Size
• Cool-Touch Surface
• Independent Heat (3) and Speed (2) Controls
• Cool Shot Button
• Removable Filter
• Concentrator Attachment
• Storage Bag Available (BAG-HOSP)

Thank you! I’m not sure if the CL rooms have different ones either. Looks to be the same. Probably is.

Thanks for posting!!

Considering booking Yacht club in January as half of our split stay (Copper Creek, then CSR , but might change to YC !)
Yacht is the ONLY deluxe resort we have yet to stay at . The Visa discount offer is pretty good for Yacht Club , so ...........
The reason we are booked at CSR is the King bed bookable option , plus we do like it.
Questions ...........
How many King rooms are there at YC , and what are the chances we would get one as a party of 2 adults ?
LOVE the new walk in shower bathrooms ! Do all the bathrooms have the walk-ins now , or are some still tubs ? Can you request the showers ?
Might go the club level route ............what floor is the CL on ? Are the CL rooms also on that same floor ?

Thanks !

YC is our favorite resort & we have been staying there once or twice a year for about 15 years. Club level rooms are all on the fifth floor, except deluxe rooms & the Captain's Deck suite.

There are not many king rooms & no one really knows how many. It is usually just the 2 of us & in all the trips there, we have only had a king room maybe 3 or 4 times. Of course, I don't request one either, so I don't know if that would make a difference. There are still many rooms with the tub & shower combo. It seems the most of the showers are in the king bed rooms. I also love the look of the shower only, so I might request a king room the next time.

I have only stayed at the YC pre-refurb, but the rooms look very nice. I have BC booked, but will have to return to YC one day.

I also have a Disney Visa and was wondering what offer you found? I have not seen anything released yet!

It depends on your dates , right now the Disney Visa offer (which appears to be the best room only offer out now) is from Jan 1 - April 14 , 2018 (we are in January ).
Example on some good Disney Visa rates for YC are ......... (average night stay for our dates , Jan 24 -Jan 28 )
Its 35% off on average .

Garden or woods view - Rack rate = $436.25 , Disney Visa = $283.56
Garden View Club Level - Rack rate = $637. , Dsisney Visa = $414.05

Try this link to get the Disney Visa room rates.

Yacht Club has by far , the best deal and availability for this offer (for our dates and from what other people are reporting ) .

Good luck ..........
