Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB RESORTS Information & Questions

OK, we are booked at YC for our Jan split stay ! The offer was too good to pass up , and a better value than our CSR reservation . It only cost about $200. more to jump up from CSR to YC ! We'll take it !
So now we are splitting half of our stay starting at (the new) Copper Creek , then finishing off at YC .
Have stayed at BC many times, but this is a first at YC for us.

What is the best way to request a King room with a walk in shower ? Call ?
Thats the only thing we are hoping for at this point ! View is not as important as a king bed and walk in shower. Dont need a tub as we are just a couple , and not a family , so hopefully it should work out ...........fingers crossed !

party::crazy:It’s almost time for our vacation, can’t believe we’re susdenly down to single digits! So looking forward to our first stay at BC:love::love::love:
We are keeping a close eye on the weather forecasts. Packing still needs to be done the carryon stuff is collected together but won’t be packed until a couple of days before we leave in one week. Work and college are becoming a few days of impatient waiting for our vacation to start.
We actually received our Disney luggage tags last month but can’t believe how flimsy they are and had to buy our own too.
ADRs and FP+ are all booked, we are hoping to get the Disney Springs in our first night to pick up some items and stretch our legs.
We’ve both been nursing new tattoos to recover, we finally found great artists to complete them for us. Mine is Totoro and DH has R2-D2 in the style of the Death Star and the forest of Endor. I’m a Studio Ghibli fan and DH is a huge Star Wars fan. It’s taken us a few years to find the ones we wanted. No getting them very wet for a few more weeks. We’ll still enjoy SAB from the pool side:drinking1:drinking1:beach: .
Both cats are ready for the stay at their holiday home and the older cat has a new bed he adores sleeping in that’s going with him. The younger one sleeps anywhere she’s not picky so they will not want to go home again they have outside pens to enjoy the fresh air as well as heated indoor pens.
It’s going to be interesting to see which room has been allocated to us for check in we didn’t many options online for room selections. I’m looking forward to seeing the new shop and dining locations and the seasonal menus. :surfweb:party:

So we are trying to decide between BC and WL. How are the buses from BC to MK? How many resorts share? How long is the trip? (We will be going in early Sept).

So here's what's happened. $200 resort credit and 6 extra fp for MK. we decided to stay in room b/c the thought of re packing and missing more park time wasn't worth it. Feel completely ok with what disney did to fix it.

:confused3 If I wasn't getting any sleep like you described it would take me but a few minutes to pack up and move to new room with a shower that didn't flood the bathroom. I just don't understand why you would take the time to complain a few times here but not change rooms. :confused3:confused3 I need my sleep:rotfl2:. We are on the move from early morning til parks close.

There was a Gartner convention there this week. Bartender at Hurricane Hannah's told us there were 30,000 of them. Not all at YC and BC but spread all over. We thought it was great because the rooms were full but the parks were not crowded!

We just got back home last night from a week at the BC. We had a great time.
Now to figure out when we will be going back . . .

Think I just convinced my mom to book for another Food and Wine trip next fall, yay!!!! This time we're looking at staying at BC, we haven't stayed there since 2013! The last few trips we've been at the YC, so it'll be fun to change it up!

Right now our tentative dates are September 17-23. Planning on booking next week! Love Saturday surprises!

It depends on your dates , right now the Disney Visa offer (which appears to be the best room only offer out now) is from Jan 1 - April 14 , 2018 (we are in January ).
Example on some good Disney Visa rates for YC are ......... (average night stay for our dates , Jan 24 -Jan 28 )
Its 35% off on average .

Garden or woods view - Rack rate = $436.25 , Disney Visa = $283.56
Garden View Club Level - Rack rate = $637. , Dsisney Visa = $414.05

Try this link to get the Disney Visa room rates.

Yacht Club has by far , the best deal and availability for this offer (for our dates and from what other people are reporting ) .
Good luck ..........
Thank you! I have a late March trip and will definitely be comparing my current BC and Poly rates!

I changed my reservation last week to BWI coz I was able to get Club Level for 1 night at a great price. I'll still be checking out YC to see if I made the right or wrong choice. Atleast they are neighbors. :)

I have only stayed at the YC pre-refurb, but the rooms look very nice. I have BC booked, but will have to return to YC one day.

I also have a Disney Visa and was wondering what offer you found? I have not seen anything released yet!
I checked the Disney Visa offer for our dates in January and the general public discount was the same as the Visa discount- 25%

I could be wrong - but I think the Disney Visa discount is usually just being able to book the general public discount a few days in advance.

For our dates in January, the Visa Promo was 35% off YC . I am sure not all nights or room types are available.
Rack rate for our dates in Jan for a YC woods / garden view was $436.25 , Disney Visa = $283.56 (our average rate for our 4 night stay. ) Exactly 35% off .

I think you are right, and as a Visa card holder, I'm a little perturbed that I never got any notification that this special discount was available.

It doesn't do me any good anyway as the resort that I'm staying at in March has no availability for this offer. Boo hoo! So now I'm looking at a bounce-back offer that hopefully I can book when I arrive over Halloween week!

The thing with me is if we stay at the Yacht/Beach Club, the pool is the main draw. I would be too afraid to chance paying the rates they command and it turn out being too cool to enjoy SAB. Even a last week in February trip would be uncertain.

I understand your point. But I will say we've had 2 stays at BC where we never used SAB due to weather yet still felt it was worth every penny. Being able to walk to 2 parks is so huge to us. Plus the atmosphere of the area is great. But again, I get what you're saying.

I'm down to 15 days until I return to my one true home BCV. I haven't been since the refurb, so I am more excited than normal. I love walking into the lobby right after you arrive on property (from a 15 hour drive, ugh) and feeling like yeah. I'm home. It's not where my bills get sent, but I'm home. ;)

Here's the description in case you missed it...

I stayed in newly renovated room 343 at the Beach Club Villas and I took lots of photos, since i was unable to find any online. We loved the new room!

Updates...
Smaller coffee table and side chairs meant more space in room.
Fold down twin size bed was awesome, my 13-year-old could have stayed in there all week. Fold it up and it becomes a table.
Four sets of 2 drawers, one set on either side of TV, a set in the nightstand, and a set in the oval coffee table.
Motion-controlled exhaust fan in bathroom (no more timer).
Many outlets and 4 USB hubs (two under TV and two on nightstand.
An extra towel bar in bathroom.
Shower tiles are large, less grout to clean. They are a sandy color and texture. Also a nice shelf up high in shower.
Ceiling fan in main room replaced with a light.
Very nice lamps (three of them), and a set of sconces over the bed.
TV is HUGE, maybe 55"? Not sure.
Pull out couch bed is not as comfortable as the old one, but still nice.
There is a small mirror on the side of the bed, hangs too high. They need a full length mirror!
Lighted make-up mirror attached to wall (normal on one side, 5x magnification on the other).
Lighting is a little dimmer in sink area, but not bad.
Closet door is the same old folding one... so hard to open. Even the one in our other room across the hall was hard to open.
Safe got a little deeper.
Marble vanity with a shelf underneath.
Kitchen is about the same, painted white. The room is painted a blue gray, nice and neutral.
The best part is there is a ceramic wood-grain floor in the entry, which stops as you enter the bed area. I always felt like the carpet in the old rooms was goody, especially near the kitchenette and vanity. The flooring is very pretty!

Hi thank you for the pics. Is the fold out sofa bed uncomfortable? Is there a lump in it? The pics seem to indicate one? How thick would you guess the mattress is? Wound anyone advise getting a topper? Thanks in advance.

Help! I need y'all to help me make a decision!!

Currently, I have a club-level room at YC booked (as a surprise!) for my three girlfriends and I for our Wine & Dine Half Marathon/Boyz II Men trip in November. But I also was able to grab a standard room for two nights (non-club level) at YC ... I need to cancel one today.

Would you pick one night (two days) at club level or two nights (three days) of Stormalong Bay?
