Good photo. The secret exit is right near the smoking icon on the bottom middle of that image.

I saw it on the map, I Just wondered if it was inside, outside, which floor? I know you said you don't have experience with the smoking area, but if anyone does -- let me know!

That's what I thought. Which is why I was confused by the map and wondered where exactly it was. It's relatively minor though.

The WDW Info map just helped me. It shows the smoking area right outside the walkway on that end of the building. So if I understand correctly, that is the secret exit.

There is a walkway along the exterior of the building. There is probably just a bench with a one of those stand things to put your cigarette butts in. Won't be a big, special area. There used to be a designated area on the covered walkway along the building, headed towards the Beach Club. When we were there in May, that area was no longer a designated smoking area. They had a sign up about no smoking because of the drought & the shrubbery right there. Not sure if they have reinstated that area.

Insect repellant







Looking for additional feedback so I can update Page 1.

Disney was placing cans of spray in the rooms. We had one in Oct 2016.

I'm not sure if this practice has stopped, or is just inconsistent or if guests are taking the cans and they are not being replaced.

If you had a stay in late Sept or October of this year, and DID have a can of bug spray in your room, could you post and let me know that.

During the cruise last week (Cozumel Mexico, Grand Cayman, Jamaica and Castaway Cay), there was mosquito repellant available for use as we exited the ship.

no repellant in our room but again our room was cleaned only after requesting it to be cleaned, but I did see the repellant through out the resort and park but it is not as noticeable now as compared to Dec of 2016

We are heading to Beach Club Jan 23-26 2018! We are doing a split stay starting at BC and ending up at Poly. We haven't stayed at BC since our Honeymoon in 2010. So excited to go back and bring our 4 yr old and 1 yr old with us!

Hi all!

It’s been a very long time since I posted here. I miss my DIS peeps but real life got in my way of having fun on the DIS (and especially the fun people of the BC/YC board!). My boyfriend and I will be staying YC CL from 11/1-11/6. We are heading to WDW to run the Two Course Challenge for Wine and Dine as a training run (one of the most expensive training runs EVER!) for Dopey 2018. This will be our 5th trip to the World in 2017....gotta get use out of our AP’s, right? I know y’all understand!!! Lol

I haven’t read up entirely on this updated thread but I did check out the first page (fabulous as usual Dee!) and imagine my surprise to see that there are now showers at SAB?!?! This. Is. Huge! I loved getting yelled at by the health club CM’s for using their contraband showers.

I look forward to being a more frequent poster here in the upcoming weeks! Has Buzzy been spotted lately at SAB? Any synchronized swimming with NM? Any late night fire alarms requiring an asleep Dee navigating the halls of her beloved BC?

Dee, Nannette, Janet Mom and I have a trip planned at the end of the month. We are staying at SSR & the Poly. Look for reports and arrest records appearing on the internet soon. I hope to run a couple of Synchronized Pool Tube practices in the kiddie pools at those resorts. Everyone is rusty and arthritic and the choreography is in the crapper. Buzzy is still around. I'm hoping to talk him into making this trip but we'll see if I can dig him out of the dumpster.

I too will miss being harassed by the spa staff for asking to use the shower... but the thing I miss the most is not seeing Teena in the lobby when I make a visit. Perhaps we can get a cardboard cut out of her and install it in the spa locker room to further confound the staff there.

Never stayed at YC/BC before, and I'm working on strategies to keep my volcano-of-a-child cool during our Summer stay...

When staying at BC/BCV, can you walk thru YC and exit near The Swan/Dolphin? (Or are there locked doors in YC that would block you from walking thru their halls?) My child is a FroYo lover and I suspect we will take advantage of the new FroYo bar at The Dolphin... [I'm guessing we can't use this strategy in reverse, since I assume we can't get INTO the YC w/o a YC key - but I'm hoping that we can at least take advantage of this in one direction...]

I've been away for a while, but so happy to report that we'll be back at the BC the end of February. Last year we just couldn't get a decent discount at BC so stayed at BWI instead. BWI was nice and still loved being on the boardwalk, but BC is still my favorite. DH likes AKL, which we could have booked for the upcoming trip, but even he can’t deny the convenience of walking to two parks. A quick glance of the messages shows most of the regulars are still around . I do have to ask though, what are we hearing from Teena and how is she doing???

Your not going to be able to stay inside if that is what your asking. your going to have to exit the building and walk along the back of SAB past Beaches and Creams and keep going til you can re-enter the Yacht club at The Yachtsman Steak house, then it working your way through the YC to get to the end my but there is a walking path all the way around Crescent Lake as shown here ( Click Me ). You can't actually walk through where the 2 resorts meet as that where the kitchens and other off limits areas is at. And as far as I know i have never scanned my MAgicband or card to get into the building except for the fitness center so if your are trying to stay in inside you should be fine.

Nothing blocks anyone from walking through the halls, but you might not be able to enter an exterior YC fire exit if you aren't staying there.

But it is out of the way to walk through the halls if you are staying at the BC or BCVs. If you look at the resort map on page one of this thread you will see that the shortest distance between the end of the BC and the end of the YC is along the sidewalk next to Crescent Lake. Walking through the hallways is a much longer walk.

I am equally happy staying at either resort. I prefer the Beach Club atmosphere slightly, the lighter blues. I really like having a full balcony, so the Yacht Club is attractive to me for that reason.
