***Official June 2018***

Wow the days have flown by and we are now at 98 days til we leave! We added a night on to the beginning of our stay (flights are a lot cheaper!) so hopefully we won't have to move rooms the next day! (Booked same category so we should hopefully be good!) So excited to have this trip planned as so much as happened in the past few months in my family and can't wait to show my parents and sister and her kids the amazing place that Disney is!

Hi! 97 days for us. It will be my father (DGP) DS 17, DS12, and Me! We are staying June 9 - 16 at Coronado Springs.

I have paid off the package and airfare just this week. :cool1: Have been collecting Sam's Club Disney Gift Cards this last year, and do those add up fast or what. Was able to use my credit card points and get a $50 Disney Gift Card. Thinking about giving it to DS12 so he can buy what he wants. DS17 has a job and has been saving his own money.

So now I am the finale stages of planning, thinking about packing, and waiting for the 60 FP+ window to open.

Was able to get the ADR's I wanted. I even booked the Ferrytail Dessert Party last month when I was to find some extra cash.

I am super excited!

Good to know, thank you! We wanted to do this on New years trip but was so dang cold we pushed it off.
Which is really not something we normally expect at Disney, is it? Probably won't have that issue in June, though. :beach: I'd book it at least a couple of weeks out, just to be on the safe side and make sure you get the time slot you want, but no need to finalize it now.

Me too. I know I've seen it a million times but I LOVE Illuminations. I told DH if they discontinue it before we go in June we HAVE to get down there sometime to watch it one last time! He thinks I'm crazy.

We have an Illumintaions cruise booked for end of June so I think you should be alright.

I'm not sure if it's been discussed on here or not, but is anyone planning any special extras? Wild Africa Trek, dessert parties, etc?

I've got some extra unexpected money coming in so I'm trying to decide how to spend it (of course it goes to Disney lol) - either upgrading the resort somehow (club level or view maybe) or on something else extra.

We usually do at least one dessert party. I have the Star Wars one booked but I'm not 100% sure I'll keep it this time around.
We like the dessert parties as well. We have done the HEA one and the Star Wars one. I wanted to also do EMM but it wasn't offered for our MK date.

Booked my flights over the weekend. Looks like my travel dates are June 11-19 now. We are taking a day off in the middle to visit a beach. Anyone used Disney Rental Car center before?

I'm going to join in! Just 3 days ago (so on Sunday morning and today is Wednesday), DH learned that he's being sent to a work conference in Orlando from 6/10 - 6/14. So he's going to Orlando and he said, "Why don't we ALL go?"

:jumping1:

The first and only time I've been to WDW was in the late 70s when I was 5 years old.

Travel dates: 6/9 - 6/16
Staying off site 6/9 - 6/15
Then staying probably at AKL 6/15-6/16 (not booked yet though)
4 of us traveling - me, DH, ODD (11, turning 12 3 days after we get home), YDD (will be 10 on this trip)

  • Kids & I are doing 5-day WDW tickets.
  • DH will probably get a 2 or 3-day ticket at the convention ticket rate (slight discount).
  • I want to take the kids to the Kennedy Space Center 1 morning.

I can't help here sorry, never booked a rental car in Orlando. I'm sure over on the transportation sub-forum someone can get some better insight for you. Sounds like a great plan though!

Welcome, sounds like a great mix of fun and value! I remember going to Kennedy Space Center on my second visit as a kid (in the early 90s) and it was really fun!

So guys I know we are primarily Disney folk here but I am so pumped about Voodoo Donuts opening at Universal CityWalk! Just look at this menu: https://www.universalorlando.com/web/en/us/things-to-do/dining/voodoo-doughnut/menu.html My diet is definitely going on a vacation, that's for sure. That Memphis Mafia fritter sounds like absolute heaven, the King would approve!

I follow USO on facebook and saw this too! We are hoping to make it over to City Walk for dinner at the Toothsome Chocolate Emporium place, I hope Voodoo will be open by then! We went to USO the last 2 summers and had a blast, but am looking forward to WDW this summer!

Only 82 more days til we leave! Fastpass date opens late this month, and I am still trying to figure out what day we'll do what park LOL so I can figure out my fp times and rides. Anyone else stressing over it?

From what I gather it should be open fairly soon, especially if they have their full menu out but that's just my personal guess. I think I have all that figured out and I'm writing out what fastpasses I want when. I'm also trying to piece together a 3 night stay at the poly villas for October but as usual it's tough. Hopefully something comes through!
