DD and 2 other families and I sat on the "home side"
instead of the "visitors side" and we were NICE...not like some of the visitors have been this year when sitting on our home side.
We did NOT want to have the wind blowing in our faces much less look directly into the sun for the entire game. Was hard not being with our other friends but FUN listening to the home fans.
One of our freshman does this AMAZING "trick" at least once a game when she throws the ball back in play. She holds the soccer ball and does a hands free running FRONT FLIP; as soon as her feet are planted she throws the ball in.
Another one of my "goals" this year is to get a picture of her doing it but I never know WHEN she'll do it. Tonight I happened to be focused on Redstorm when I heard the home crowd go "WHAT? HOW DID SHE DO THAT? I WANT TO SEE THAT AGAIN"!
It really is amazing to watch her and to see the reactions of the opposing team and the refs is priceless
. Anyway...the second objective of our sitting there was to sit in front of the press box to have the wind blocked. If I'd have stayed there I'd have been fine but I always walk to the 10-20 yard line to get "field view" pictures. That's when the wind started bothering me. It'll be fine by tomorrow...at least I HOPE it is.
Still have a few issues with the allergies but much, MUCH better than the previous 8 WEEKS!
It WAS quite comfortable until the 2nd half...much, much better than previous weeks. Even thought for awhile there I MIGHT be making a quick trip to FLORIDA this evening
. One of the mothers sitting with us if leaving for Florida this evening since the Coach cancelled their practice for tomorrow. Her husband is currently working in Jacksonville and she and her 3 girls will spend the rest of spring break with him. Allie's teammate can drive some of the trip but when I told her about OUR spring break trip in 2012 she was a little nervous.
I told her she could just make a side trip to Orlando, drop me off and I'd spend the next few days at DW and drive part of the way.
We both laughed and she pointed out if she dropped me at DW I'd have 3 girls that would want to stay with ME instead of seeing their Daddy! I withdrew my offer.
I can't imagine how they EVER get the side streets plowed!
Those poor guys working those plows...I'll bet they are even more ready for spring than you are!
