I had it narrowed down to AKL but then....

we are staying 11 nights in August 2a and 2 boys ages 12,9 I have an EVC and we will have the QS plan. We will be enjoying the resort, taking breaks from the park so a nice room, great pool and fun resort is a must.
I heard AkL has long Narrow hallways, and I noticed Poly is $50 cheaper (not much) and CR is $500 cheaper.
I am thinking a monorail resort would be great, even more so in august!
CR we could rent a cabana for an afternoon, but Poly has that amazing pool!
What do you think? We will be swimming a lot - well the boys will be, I’ll be resting.
Let me know what you think please thx

I loved AKL, but it seems Poly would be a better bet. Great pool and convenient location to parks, especially if you will be doing lots of midday breaks. AKL is super convenient for Animal Kingdom, not so much for the other parks.

Also, the room at AKL may be small for an ECV. I noticed some left in the hallways during my stay last week. AKL also has smaller bedroom spaces than the moderates! (Has a bigger bathroom which is why it has a larger overall square footage.)

The AKL actually has decent sized rooms. Most of the ECV's are in the hallways because that's where people charge them.

I'm surprised you are saying those prices since AKL is usually one of the lower priced Deluxe resorts, unless you're staying Savannah view or Club level.

It's a fab resort, great pool, great amenities, good QS restaurant.

Have you used an EVC on the monorail before? Part of me thinks it would be easier/faster because it wouldn't have to be loaded like it would on a bus. But the other part of me worries people would try to scramble over it in a rush to get off the monorail. I might pose the question on the DISabilities forum to get some opinions if you haven't done the monorail on EVC yourself.

I would definitely switch. You will have a bigger room (at either Poly or CR) and the monorail to MK (plus the path to TTC at Poly). I would probably pick Poly. The longhouses are so much closer to the pool than the rooms at CR, so it will be really convenient for people to go back and forth from the room. Plus, the pool is nicer and there are cabana-like structures at the Poly quiet pool you can rent. IMHO, it will probably be easier to navigate Poly. The elevators at CR are a nightmare. Always crowded and you will have to use a very small elevator to get up and down from the monorail platform. Everyone using an ECV or stroller has to use this one elevator. As one who stayed there with a stroller, it was a massive pain.

My kids found the Poly pool to not be as fun as we thought it would be. It didn't live up to the hype. Even with that I would switch to the Poly since it's cheaper. It has bigger rooms. I would skip the CR since their pool looks really boring.

I have we stayed at GF before but that was only for a 4 night stay, this trip I want to stay longer so GF is out of the question. I loved GF! Everything about it and having a monorail with my EVC was great!

Yes a SV room with a K and Q bed that’s what attracted me to the resort was that room

I have stayed at all 3 resorts. I'm thinking that price is for the Wing, not the tower. I do love the CR, but I would only stay in the tower. (I have stayed in the wing as well.) If you want to swim a lot, the CR is not for you. The pool is VERY shallow. During my 3 stays, the bullseye pool was always closed. The main pool is maybe 3'. There are no shallow or deeper parts.

The Poly is nice. The pools are beautiful, but very crowded. Staying on the monorail line is great for scooters as getting to Epcot and MK are easy.

The AKL is beautiful. Where else can you see zebra's, etc outside your window??? Your kids will love it. The pool is great and has a zero entry. But, you will always take buses.

We just got back from AKL and I was underwhelmed. My girls ages 9 & 11 loved the pool and the animals but as adults my DH and I were not impressed. As fas as hallways go, they are kind of long but I wouldn't say they are anymore narrow than any other hotel. We say quite a few ppl go by on EVC and there was ample room. We weren't fans of the location of AKL and since it's the lowest price of the deluxes, I really feel like it teeters on the moderate line, you're paying the deluxe price for the animals and for us that's just not enough especially since not every Savanna view room has equally good views. It's not a terribly long bus ride to Epcot, MK and HS but it's a lot longer if you're used to staying at the other WDW properties. IMO AKL is great if you will spend more than 2 days at AK if not, I think other hotels might be better. I've never stayed at the Poly or the CR but if location and midday breaks is a big factor for you, those would win being on the MR loop. I think you just need to weigh your options and see what comes up tops. All of your choices are great, just need to see what suits you best.

I just looked online and can’t find anything saying King and Queen in same room. It’s 2 Queens, Queen and bunk beds and King with daybed in Deluxe Rooms, King only in standard room

We've stayed at all 3 resorts and they're all great in their own way. AKL is my favorite of the three (so beautiful and peaceful), but I like the others, as well. Either Poly or AKL would be great in summer. I'd skip CR in the summer, as its pool is rinky dinky.

Poly a has a leg-up because of the monorail.

AKL has a leg-up on Poly in that the whole hotel is in one building, so when it rains (and it will likely rain every afternoon in August), you won't get wet moving around the resort at AKL, unlike at Poly. Don't underestimate the value of that. AKL offers all guests the use of two feature pools, one at Jambo & one at Kidani, so that is very nice. Poly's volcano pool is great, but will be people soup in summer.
