Tagging @CoP Luv to report back.

Mon 12/3 - designated AA as selected airline for Amex Biz Plats
Tue 12/4 - bought $100 AA gc
Thur 12/6 - $100 charges posted, show up as "Misc Taxes/Fees"
Fri 12/7 - tried to check the airline benefit on both cards, but that was "Unavailable" all day
Sat 12/8 - $100 airline credit posted on both cards with posted date of 12/7 (the day I couldn't see any info)

Today, Sun 12/9 - bought 2nd round of $100 AA gcs

Thanks so much for the follow-up and DP!

I was trying to set my airline and enroll in the Saks benefit ALL week but was having trouble. It finally went through on both yesterday. I will go for the AA GC tomorrow. Are you planning on saving your GC for future air ticket purchase or selling? Just curious because I might go the selling route. You can't use an AA GC on checked bag fee, correct?

And FAFSA madness is only the beginning -- each college decides what they will do with the FAFSA data, and then many of them will request more of their own data.
I remember one my schools I applied to required CSS as well and it was SUCH a pain for my parents... They were happy when I didn’t ultimately pick that one just because of that!

United MPX has been working great for me up until now. I tried to pay for a macy's online purchase with it and got the error message to contact them. :guilty:

Calling Southwest experts.....

1. I have a res booked with points and Early bird attached. What is the process to change the reservation? How do I transfer the EB to the new res, or do I just cancel for a refund to the credit card and repurchase on new booking?

2. With the Priority cc can the $75 airline credit be used to buy a gift card, or only just for booking a flight?

3. Can a res be booked with BOTH cash and points?

My points have not posted.

Mine neither, it seems to be trickling in.

No points for DH or me yet either.

And my Marriott CC anniversary was 12/8 so I am also on the look-out for my 15 elite nights and free night cert. Although I am not quite sure where I would find the cert. (Which reminds me I need to check Chase for the AF since we have put zero spend on the card and I have been ignoring it.)

You can't miss it :) They put a new section on the overview page for it, plus it's listed in the activity page. I wondered myself but it was obvious once it showed up.

Someone talk me down here. I'm actually considering the M Life credit card for two reasons: 1) Free parking at MGM resorts and 2) Pearl status, meaning little to no waits for restaurants. Since we have to come back to Vegas in April and will probably rent a house off strip this seems like a smart play, no? Parking is like $30 a day at the MGM resorts. The crowds in spring are awful. I had to wait about 25 minutes for breakfast this morning. It's usually an hour in the spring. The tier credits are essentially worthless to me although I've earned a fair amount this trip because I've been here so long. I can't get the Hyatt card (again) because I'm locked out of Chase forever now since everything is 5/24... and the M Life card is Bank of Omaha so I don't have anything from them.

Verdict... waste of a pull?

waste of pull, i believe u just need status to get free parking and status.
hyatt status?
theres also a Marriott --> Wyndam --> TR for Caesar properties. should give u top tier status if ur Gold and higher on Marriott.

I own no Marriott points. Nor Wyndham.

M Life confers automatic Pearl which is why you get the free parking.

So Hyatt --> M Life. Does that mean M Life ----> Hyatt? I never looked at it from that angle before. I'm assuming no.

I have status with Hilton which is where I earn my points now that I can't get a Hyatt card ever again.

If you’re staying off strip you can dine anywhere you want in all of Vegas because you have to drive anyway. Would you really return to enough MGM properties for dining this will be worth it?

@DisneyMandC I’m not currently amused by snowpocalypse! I think we’re over 5”. I’m hoping the kids will be back in school by Wednesday. Need to plan a trip to SW FL since this is snow storm #2 for me (#1 was in Middleburg three weeks ago) and it’s not even winter yet.:(

Closer to 6-7” at my house and not slowing down! I wish I could say I’ve been productive while stuck in my house today... I’ve watched 4 episodes of The Good Place today, so maybe that counts for something?

Yeah in April we would because the group of people will want to be on the strip but want the benefit of no resort fees and private bedrooms of an Air BnB or something like that. I've never done Vegas off strip.

I just looked at the Churning archive and some people said this card does work Hyatt in reverse so that is interesting to me that I could jump status in Hyatt in again. Something to consider and research I guess. I've certainly got time to kill today. Flying home and will be sitting at the Centurion soon enough. :santa:

I think we’re up to 8”. My son is outside now shoveling the deck because the snow is too deep for our fur baby!

1. Do not cancel, EB is not refundable I believe, I think you have to call in to get the reservation changed, someone else will likely know more as I have never used EB.

2. not sure on this.

3. no

One other thing I learned is that for my kids, the ACT was a better test than the SAT, and I can't recall a college that didn't accept the ACT. If your daughter is on the edge of maybe qualifying for a merit scholarship it might be worth having her take (or even retake) the ACT (or SAT if that's a better test for her).

Thanks...actually my DD is excellent at standardized test taking-to the point of being a National Merit Scholarship Semifinalist. The problem is, they narrow down Semis to Finalists with an application and her grades will take her out of the running. She is not so great at keeping her grades up so there goes several potential thousands of dollars out the window. When we were in school and had handwritten grades there would also be an area for notations. She's the kid who "has ability but lacks effort." Sigh...

Our snow is supposed to start at 4:30 and go until 9pm. I have a dog who also can't do snow banks and a snow blower that was brand new 3 years ago, but we haven't had any snow that we could use it on. If we get anything, I hope my neighbor will start it up and do my driveway!

Very small travel win for me today. I had called a few days ago to use my old category 6 Marriott certificate for Wisconsin Dells next June. The CSR told me the newer Springhill Suites was not accepting certificates for that time. I was more than a little frustrated with Marriott and the fact that they have devalued the old category 6 cert and now they wouldn’t even use it for the week I desired.
This morning I called again. I got disconnected the first try, but the second rep got it done. I got a 30,000 point refund into my account from the old cat 6 to new cat 4 certificate. Small win but still a win.
