RotR Planning & Daily Boarding Group Discussion - *CLOSED*

Any thoughts on a strategy to get a late BG? We have afternoon plans off property and will probably return around 7pm on an 8pm closing day that has evening EMH. Any chance of trying to time it to snag one of the last BGs of the day, or is that too much to try to orchestrate?
@hiroMYhero I think has the link to the chart?

Thrill Data, website and Twitter, graphs the BGs so you can get an idea of which group you may want to attempt to join.

Standing around Hollywood Blvd for 30 minutes or more as @yulilin3 suggested before joining a BG would be the easiest solution. Or, you can ask other guests who walk by which BG they’re being assigned and then make a judgment as to when to join.

Many thanks @yulilin3 and @hiroMYhero !!! It is a late January visit, so I'll keep my eyes peeled for any updated info, but sounds like it is do-able, or at least worth a try!

Guest services is also fully capable of changing your boarding group higher or lower (they’ve done both for me). You could always ask there as a back up.

Does anyone have any reports with their BG interfering with an ADR and how they and/or Disney handled it? We have an 11:30 lunch in Epcot this Saturday. We plan to leave the Dolphin at 4:30AM hoping to ride before heading to Epcot but I’m trying to think through the “What Ifs”.
Disney is really good about not charging you a cancellation fee under pretty much any circumstances if you just call them and tell them you can’t make your ADR, even day of. You also can “modify” an ADR to a later date, even months out, and then cancel it that way. This shouldn’t be an issue.

it has the potential for the app to crash. There's a difference between seconds of scattered guests trying to join a BG and a group of thousands trying to log in at the same time
Yeah, that many people all “pounding the app” at the same time is them basically inviting the equivalent of a DDOS attack. It could crash not only the boarding group system but the entire MDE app. This is especially true if it’s happenning at 7 am which is also the time that people worldwide start hitting the app to make their 60 day fastpasses.

I'm going to HS Jan 13th. Park is opening at 8am that day. My plan is to show up around 7:00 that morning. Do you think that's cutting it too close? Will busses still be running earlier than usual? We're staying at Coronado and not sure how long it takes to get to HS from that resort. Any info will be helpful :yay:

Nope, all was fairly simple. Went on the Uber app and put in request around 3am. Uber arrived at AKL about 15 mins later and I was on my way. Only hiccup was the parking booths were coned off and Uber was a little hesitant to go around them at first, but he ended up doing it and it all worked out. If you could get yourself up early and willing to wait, it’s worth it
How much was the uber ride? I assume many ppl will be using uber and will prbly be limited amount of cars available.
