I enjoyed reading to my children in a British Accent. All children's books are read in a British Accent by me... and my fave is Mr. Brown can Moo! CockA-Doodle-Doo was just meant for a cockney accent!

Funny- my DH always reads to my kids in a British accent too! Oh, wait...

Oh man I can currently recite this book forwards and backwards from memory. My toddler is obsessed. He also loves to make things go boomboom

everybody running to the coconut tree...

My LO outgrew that one a while ago, but I still have it half memorized!

I get an eye roll for merely existing in my 15 yo's world... :sad2:
Have you tried saying this...I heard it might work:

Oh, I miss Dick’s. 🤤

I do enjoy having it so close to home and it hasn't been bad as far as eating there too often, I just get to eat there more often. Plus if I just get a burger and fries it's under 5 so it's not bad. And the DD prices looked the same which doesn't surprise me, Dick's isn't going to let them have higher prices they just want to offer delivery. They'll probably get all my credit too since all the other places are sit down and not really somewhere I'd get food to take home but could if I needed to use the credit. Or I order from Dick's once a month which sounds way better.

Nope doesnt work. Even tried deleting ans reinstalling and deleting and readding the card via the doc link. It just closes the offer and instead offers me a free trial for 1 month.

eta- called Chase and they said the benefit was supposed to launch today but they are having widespread issues and to try again midday tmrw

Thank you for sharing this. I was going to have DH sign up today, but maybe we will just wait a bit. I'd rather just do it when things are working smoothly.

Your comment reminded me of the INCREASED Blue Business Plus offer that expires on 1/29/20!

Probably worth a reminder comment - available via support link:

Earn 15,000 Membership Rewards® points after you spend $5,000 in within 3 months PLUS, get a 0% introductory APR for 12 months on purchases and balance transfers. Offer ends 01/29/2020

So this is a biz card, with a 0% intro APR and a decent offer. I'm not trying to cause FOMO or have people go for something they didn't want, but this one warrants consideration since it's a no AF biz card that earns 2x MRs on everything AND can keep your MRs active!

Ahhh. I have such FOMO with this card. 2 MRs for everything is really something that appeals to me. Amex just sent DH an email suggesting he apply for it, too. I was hoping we could PC the Biz Plat to the BBP but that's not possible. DH is tired of balancing his large number of Amex cards as it is - the whole "spend on each one" thing is becoming a bit annoying.

I haven’t really been focusing on the fact that we are going during spring break.....😳 we usually go the first week in March. But wanted to be able to bring our kids on this trip. Our DD graduates in December so not sure when she will be able to go with us again to Disney. Hoping the crowds aren’t too crazy!

Does your trip fall around Easter?

I'll just throw out one caveat, the 2x is capped at $50k per calendar year. For nearly all of us this is not a really a problem, but just wanted to throw that out there. And it does take one of your 5 credit card slots.

Sounds like I'm a downer on the card, but I'm not. I think it's a good card that just sounds too good to be true so here's the "downside" :)

(Please don't nerf this card AmEx. 🤞 It's so simple I just feel like they have to screw it up at some point.)

DH is tired of balancing his large number of Amex cards as it is - the whole "spend on each one" thing is becoming a bit annoying.

Surprise! I don't actually "spend on each one." I think the conventional wisdom to spend on your Amex cards doesn’t necessarily mean spend on each one. If you have one or two, yes it probably matters that you spend on each one, especially if your cardmember history with Amex isn’t long. But if you have 5 or 10 Amex cards, it’s probably okay if you spend heavily on a few and have little or no charges in some months on others. I’d say, if we’re not working on MSRs from other issuers, Amex gets more than 3/4 of our spend across various cards — not necessarily evenly, which given the high cost of living around here is substantial.

I don’t have any inside knowledge of Amex’s pop up algorithms, but I think spend is kind of a balancing act. In the first year, I definitely spend on each one, but once I pay an annual fee I ease off a little. I always try to justify keeping an Amex card beyond the first year. If I can get a decent retention offer, that might do it. Ongoing anniversary benefits like FNCs also help justify keeping a card. I haven't spent on my Bonvoy Biz and one of my Bonvoy Amex in a few months, but again I've paid annual fees on them and justify their value with their FNCs. During that time, I’ve been approved for two more Amex cards with no pop up. I put expensive purchases on my Plats for purchase protection and extended warranty. I add Amex Offers that I’ll use to my Plat and Biz Plat so they get some love despite earning only 1x MR, but that’s okay because the Amex Offer gets me a statement credit or MR bonus. Unless it’s like a food Amex Offer that would go so much better on the Gold. Dining and supermarket spend on my Gold for 4x MR. When there are deals on VGC/MCGC at supermarkets, I use my Gold to buy them, then spend the VGC/MCGC elsewhere on otherwise non-bonus spend to pass along the 4x MR earning rate. I spent $30k on my Gold last year doing this, no MS. I did put gas on my BGR for 3x MR. And then I use the BBP for 2x MR on everything else.

So far, no pop up. 🤞

I spent some time this weekend trying to figure out how to get my family (DH, two youngest kiddos, and myself) to Hawaii next summer (2021) on points. I have a little over 100k AA miles right now, and will hopefully have the SW CP and around 100k+ RR points by the time I can book. Looking 11 months out I was able to find economy one-way flights on AA from Wichita (my home airport) for 19k AA points. It looks like if my DH were to sign up for the two personal AA cards (Citi and Barclay), he could earn 100k+ in AA points in SUB's (he will not get biz cards), and between the two of us we'd have enough AA points for round trip (assuming the points costs don't change dramatically in the next seven months or so).

So, to get to my question - with all the scary stuff going on with Citi right now, do you think that's a bad idea? It doesn't seem like that's breaking any rules, right? As a back-up, I could possibly get a personal Citi card, although I don't really want to use a 5/24 spot on that. I could also use SW if needed, although I kind of prefer to save my SW points for FL trips Any other ideas on flights or Hawaii in general? Thanks for any suggestions!
