Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB RESORTS Information & Questions

We arrived at the BC this morning at 10:55am. While we waited for the Magical Express driver to unload our luggage we got the text that our room was ready! I love when the room is ready when we arrive. We also got our request of a full balcony. It is a lovely, sunny day and it looks like it was be a great trip. :)

We just returned from a 3-night stay at Yacht Club (split stay with CBR) and had a fantastic time! It was our first time staying at YC and we were thoroughly impressed!

We were in room 3040 - a view of the quiet pool with a fifth sleeper and walk-in shower (we were 2 adults staying in the room) which was a bit of a hike from the lobby! We had requested (via email and phone) to be in a room closer to the lobby/facing the lake, however, all of those rooms were taken (there are only like 10 rooms in the category we booked that have any view of the lake). Room was ready right at 3pm - and we were very happy!

We loved Stormalong Bay - it was quite cold while we were there (low 70s and 60s) and the pool was kept pretty warm! The Quiet Pool was fantastic and always kept at a great temp - we also loved the hot tub in the quiet pool area. Being able to walk to Epcot was great and the short walk to DHS wasn't bad either (although we preferred taking the Skyliner to DHS from CBR) - we loved that YC was connected to BC - made us feel like we were staying at 2 different resorts at the same time.

We did Cape May for Minnie's Beach Bash Character Breakfast and really enjoyed it - definitely an investment (at $105 for 2 adults with tip) - but a nice treat and a great way to meet characters. It didn't feel too crowded and we got to spend a lot of time with each of the characters. We had dinner at Beaches & Cream and enjoyed that as well - we didn't have a reservation and still managed to be seated within 5 minutes on a busy night (all that extra space definitely comes in handy). We also ate at the Ale & Compass Marketplace and Hurricane Hanna's - both were just okay. Not bad - but certainly not amazing.

I cannot wait to return to YC - BF is leaning towards trying someplace new - but I really loved YC and am hoping I can convince him to do CL next time. Also huge thanks to everyone who posts on this thread - our trip was fantastic and so much of that was because of the info shared here!!

I know the allears.net menu shows which night they alternate certain dishes like the fried cod, calamari, various pasta or non-seafood entrees. Older photos I’ve seen of the menu displayed at the restaurant show the same. I’ve noticed that newer videos and pictures of the menu don’t show those days anymore. Has anyone been recently and know if they still follow a certain rotation? We’re debating a Wednesday, Thursday or Friday reservation and are partial to certain items.
Thanks so much.

We had an interesting experience this morning with the bus to MK. We are staying at the BC and we got to the bus depot at 9:07 am. MK opened at 9am this morning and there were enough people waiting for the next bus that we didn't think we would get on. It was a gorgeous morning and we decided to walk to the YC bus stop. It was a five minute walk and we arrived at the YC bus stop at 9:12 am. The MK bus was due at 9:14 and there were about ten people waiting at the YC stop so we figured that we were in a good spot. But things got a little strange and the MK bus disappeared from the YC bus monitor and showed up as arriving at 9:29am instead. We got on it at 9:29 and when the bus arrived at the BC we could tell that the MK bus that was due at the YC at 9:14 ended up skipping the YC and went directly to the BC instead. This will make people think twice about walking to the YC if the MK bus skips the YC whenever there are really long lines at the BC. We were really surprised to have this happen.

The other new thing we learned is that there is now an Elkay bottle refill station in Storm Along Bay. I snapped these pictures while sitting at the bar at Hurricane Hannas. This is near the bathrooms next to the lazy river.

Please share room recommendations for Beach Club Club Level Standard Rooms. I would like to make a request on Touring Plans. Thank you all!

ETA: We would love a balcony. With kids, its so nice to have somewhere to hang while they sleep!

The likeliest way to get a full balcony is to make that your only, or at least a priority room request.

It's hard to make a recommendation without knowing what's important to you, other than the full balcony.

Not all rooms have a daybed for an additional sleeping surface. Is that something you want?

Do you prefer to be closer to the action, nearby the lounge and elevator, or do you prefer to be in a quieter part of the floor away from those areas?

You can certainly check out the Beach Club Room Views thread to see if there are any particular rooms that appeal to you, but we generally suggest that you convey the attributes you want in a room rather than request an actual room number, because in the likely scenario that the room you want is not available when you are checking in, the room assigners can try to block you into a room that most closely meets your priorities.

Thanks for all those questions! I didn't think about the other factors. We definitely want a balcony with a decent view. As long as there are two queen beds, a daybed isn't necessary. Doesn't matter how close we are to the action.

Maybe I'll put the room number, and write or another room with balcony and similar views?

Do any of the BCV one-bedrooms have a patio or balcony off the bedroom, or are these just off the living room?

I walked from the BC to DHS this morning, leaving the resort around 6:40am and arriving right at 7am. Bag check lines were not very busy. They started to let people in the park a few minutes after I got there. I tapped in approx 7:12am and walked right back to the BC for breakfast. I logged into my MDE account at 8am from the BC and got boarding group 10.

We walked back to DHS around 9am and the ride was down. They said that I could come back anytime that day. So we used all our fastpasses, had lunch, and then went to the ride at 12:30. I was done 37 minutes later. It was a great ride and the plans worked out perfectly. :)

The Friendship boats must have started running at 7am, because I didn't see any boats during my walk to DHS. I just missed a boat leaving the DHS dock at 7:15am to go back to the resorts. The first two boats of the morning would have gotten you at DHS in plenty of time to get into the park before it opened.

I truly wouldn’t get hung up on views. Standard view rooms have views of the parking lot or roofs. So that is what you should expect. Yes, there are a very view that have better views, but the likelihood you will get 1 of them is slim. The way to get a better view is to book a garden or water view room.

@Wood Nymph , I heard a rumor that Disney is stopping complimentary bread service at most table service restaurants. Don’t know if you do table service, but can you let us know what you see if you do. Heard Tony’s has replaced bread & olive oil with $9 garlic knots. :headache:

The only table service we have on this trip is Liberty Tree Tavern for lunch. I don't think they ever had bread service. We ate at Boatwrights last month and they still served cornbread. :)

Thanks anyway! I guess it just started Sunday. Rumor was the manager at Coral Reef said all Epcot restaurant; supposedly CM at Mama Melrose confirmed. I guess more reports will start coming in soon. Enjoy LTT, it’s one of my favorites too.

If a garden or water view room comes available, I will for sure book it!
