Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB RESORTS Information & Questions

We returned on Thursday from a wonderful 3-night stay at BC CL. We were in room 5680 (yep, right across the hall from @Wood Nymph). It was a standard view, but you wouldn't have thought so. We looked down onto the back entry into BC and could see Crescent Lake to the right. While not yet booked, my next trip to WDW should be in November for a long weekend with my adult daughters for Food and Wine. I would love to treat them to a stay at BC, but the girls' trip is supposed to be low budget so we'll have to see how finances shake out between now and then :-).

I love meeting people from the Dis. It would have been nice to say hello. There was only one room across the hall from us and I saw people coming and going from there. :)

It was chilly on our arrival day and departure day but the rest of the week was warm. In fact, two of our days were very hot, with record breaking 90's on Thursday. :)

Ah, good, I’m glad to hear it (well, assuming 90’s isn’t TOO hot for you and yours). We’ll be there in a couple weeks assuming things are all still good travel-wise, and the kids will definitely be pumped to take advantage of SAB.

We checked in the day after you did. And we were in room 5680!!!
We returned to our room one afternoon to find a maintenance man adjusting the door closing mechanism. He said that he was fixing it so that the door didn't close so loudly. I wondered at the time if one of our neighbors in the hall called to complain about our door. ;)

Sorry, I edited my post with this info:

the noise from the traffic/buses/entrance wasn't an issue. If you have small children that need to blow off steam, or just want a bit a outside "space" this might be perfect. My room number was 5178 I think, but there are 4 rooms with this balcony,
I would like to request 2 of the rooms with this shared balcony. Can anyone tell me where I can submit the request? I did add a room request our last stay at CBR and there was no sign of it when we got to check-in.

For room requests, call them in to 407-W-DISNEY.

I'm a pessimist. I believe in calling back at a later date to find out if the request is in there.

But your request is very specific, so I don't know what the odds are of you getting it.

Hi all~excited that we (family of 6) are staying at BC for the first time this June....we are doing a split stay, starting at BC for 4 nights and then moving to Poly because the deluxe room that holds 6 was only available for those 4 nights. A couple of questions:

--has anyone stayed in this one particular room that holds 6?
--we love spending down time at our resorts...besides the obvious (pool) any other suggestions on places around the resort to check out?

(side note: we always stay at the Poly and love it, but wanted to try something new....for the Poly leg of this stay we also booked a room at Music for our oldest 2, dd20 and ds 17)

We are back from a wonderful trip. We were in room 5681,SV CL, which was above Storm Along Bay. We could hear the noise from the afternoon pool party, even with the door closed. Both other than that, the room was very quiet. It did not have a connecting door and it was the last room in the hall, so there was only one neighboring room. The room is located in section above Cape May and there aren't very many rooms in this hallway.

Wood Nymph, I am truly sad right now. I've followed this board on and off for YEARS and yours is a familiar name. We checked in the day after you did. And we were in room 5680!!!

These are the rooms I really hope we get this summer. Nice to see some info about them! I know are odds are slim to none, but a girl's gotta dream!

We considered booking the deluxe room at BC, the one that holds 6. Since it had the same amount of beds as a regular room we decided against it. We have three sons (one of which will be 18 when we visit) and a daughter so it wouldn’t have worked for us.
We decided to get my oldest a room at Pop for our BC part of our trip. I’m happy to see someone else booking a different resort for their adult children. When I posted a thread asking about it I got a lot of people that were upset that I would send my son away to a different resort. He is going to love being alone, especially after 9 nights stuck with us. Lol! I didn’t really understand why people thought it was so terrible?!

As far as other places to explore, we loved walking along the boardwalk. They have such great shops there! There are a few restaurants there that are also great.

I believe all of the BC CL GV rooms do have full balconies, if that helps.

Only you can decide if the $50 a night is worth it? How many people?

The breakfast offerings are really good, so you can justify some of the increase in the breakfast, snacks and apps/desserts/beverages in the evening.

:)

If the standard views aren't terrible, we won't mind them! We have four people - two adults, a four year old, and a six year old.

I'm super excited to try the Club Level food offerings!!

Hi - we stayed in a deluxe room last year - I believe it was room 3691. It's right above the lobby and has a large balcony that overlooks the courtyard and lake. We really liked the room. It was big and felt spread out. We got a lot of use out of the balcony when we wanted some time away from the kids. There is a smaller juliet balcony that overlooked Stormalong that we liked also. Let me know if you have any specific questions.

We mostly did the pool in our downtime but also did a fireworks cruise to Epcot since the boats go out right there.

We are staying at Yacht Club for the first time next month in a Standard View Club Level room. Any help with good room requests? Closeness to lobby maybe or good view, or close to walkway to parks? I can’t figure out what room area would be best.

:welcome: to the thread!

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list we keep on Page 1, Post 15.

The club level rooms are all on the 5th floor, so the rooms that are closest to the lobby/walkway to the parks/bus stop are the ones closest to the lounge and elevator. The downside to these rooms is that there can be a lot of foot traffic.

Check out the Yacht Club Room View thread in the Resorts Community subforum if you want to see a sample of some rooms in this category. You should find the rooms starting with the number "5" in the standard view section.

Hi everyone, we are a family of four staying in a BC 1BR villa later this month for the first time. I’ve found a lot of good info here and elsewhere, but still have a few questions for those in the know (and apologies in advance if I’ve missed these answers somewhere). First, I see many here talking about room preference requests, but the only options to choose from that I see online revolve around which floor you’d like to be on or near the elevator. If hoping for, say, a pool view room (I realize it would be the quiet pool) or a specific type of balcony, is that something I should call Disney directly to request?

We also plan to have a Garden Grocer delivery made the day we arrive, and I’m trying to determine if we need to buy coffee or not. From what I’ve read it sounds like the 1BR villas (we booked directly through Disney and paid cash, not points) do receive Mousekeeping services and have coffee replaced daily if needed? Is this correct?

I’m pretty sure we can swim at SAB the day we arrive even if our room is not ready yet when we get there, but if so are there convenient bathrooms where we could change into swimwear privately?

Thanks so much for any and all assistance, and I’m sure more questions will occur to me as time goes on.

:welcome: to the thread!

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list.

I don't really know much about the villas section of the resort, but you have received some excellent information from our experts here.

:thumbsup2

It has been a long time, years since I have been on the boards. :wave2: There were various reasons we could not go to the parks much in the last few years and it was less sad to stay off the boards. We are now FL residents so hopefully we can start going again.

I just booked our quick resort only trip for my birthday this year June 2-3 at Beach Club!! I'm so excited, we have gone many times to DW and stayed at SOG but never anywhere else on site. Knocking a few things off the bucket list, stay on site in a deluxe resort and wake up in disney on my birthday (we have gone for the kids and hubby but not mine). I also made reservations for beaches and cream so I can have the no way jose on my birthday, been meaning to try that one for a long time.

:welcome:

I'll add your birthday trip to the list. Sounds like a wonderful celebration of firsts.

Thank you once again for the detailed info about your trip and for adding the room description to the view thread. I really appreciate it!

If you are staying club level, then I suggest that you give your room request both to Disney Signature Service and to the regular Disney Central Reservations Office by phone.

I have not stayed in any of the Deluxe rooms. Somewhere there is a Deluxe/Suites room thread out there (I think you can find the link on Page 1, Post 12 of this thread) with some pictures/descriptions of the Beach Club Deluxe Rooms.

DH, DD, and I will be back at the Yacht Club May 8 - 11. We stayed CL back in June and now looking forward to a Mother's Day weekend back in CL water view.

:welcome: to this thread!

Let us know if you book.

Yes, walking is the best bet to get to HS for rope drop since the pacing is under your control.

Yes, you can use the IG entrance for pre park opening breakfast in EPCOT

The other two questions are trickier to answer about what is "best". Minnie Vans are certainly the quickest way to get to those parks, but they are the costliest option. I usually shoot for rope drop using the buses, and usually make it or I'm close to it. But there is more of a risk and a necessity to get an earlier start using this method.

If you value time and convenience, the Minnie Vans are the best bet.

If you are trying to economize, they are not.

We finally booked our trip. We are staying at Port Orleans- French Quarter the first week of September. We got the free dining plan.

We had to cancel our April 18-25 trip today due to complications that would happen if either of us come down with the corona virus. My traveling companion works in a senior care facility and cannot afford to have that kind of exposure and take that risk of needing to be quarantined after our return. So, it is with great sadness that I ask to have our trip removed from the Be Our Guest list. I'm hoping to reschedule for November and will update when our reservation is confirmed.

My sister is a teacher and is considering cancelling her upcoming trip for a similar reason. She worries that she would bring the virus back to the school.

Trying to decide where to stay next. BC has been on my mind for awhile now but I'm worried that Storm Along Bay causes too much traffic? I prefer a more relaxing resort after dealing with the crowds all day.

What are your thoughts on the crowds at the resort/storm along bay?

I'm sad you had to cancel but I commend you for doing the right thing for your community and places of work. It is hard to let go of something you plan for. I hope the closures help the virus die off quickly and we can all get back to normal soon.

Only resort guests can use stormalong bay, so the pool doesn't bring any extra traffic to the area. Cape May and Beaches and Cream are a different matter...
