What have you had to cancel due to Coronavirus?

I had a business meeting for this Friday in Santa Barbara, but since everyone is going to be at home they've moved it to an online meeting. I was looking forward to traveling, but right now this is probably better. The change was made even before my county had a general stay in place order.

My Mother in Law passed last Thursday. Originally, there was going to be a wake, but of course there is no wake and now her funeral set for tomorrow, is going to be private. There will be 15 of us, (if my kids and I even go) my husbands 3 siblings, their spouses and children. Many people are very sad/disappointed that they can't come.

The siblings planned to have all of us go to a restaurant after the service. I said that the kids and I weren't going. Then yesterday all restaurants in our state were closed. So, now one brother is hosting everybody at his house. We are not going. We have been told to NOT gather in groups, to stay home etc. Why they are getting together is beyond me.

Personally, I wanted to postpone the funeral. I feel like so many people aren't taking this seriously.

Its sad that my sweet Mother in Law passed during this pandemic, but it is what it is.

Driving to work.......work from home now until at least April 30th. To be honest, I always thought I would enjoy this. Turns out, not leaving the house for 8-10 hours every day kinda sucks.....

Nothing so far. Have a trip to Costa Rica in July and Hamilton tickets in DC in August. I hope those won't need to be cancelled.

We were supposed to drive out to Colorado this week to attend our younger daughter's wedding and all the events (bridal shower, parties, etc.) that went along with it. The wedding was scheduled for April 4th. Everything has been postponed. My husband and I, along with several other family members, had tacked on a four day trip to Las Vegas after the wedding. We had tickets to the Beatles LOVE Show, something the other couple has not seen and was very much looking forward to seeing. Of course, that's not happening now. Our daughter and fiancé were going to England for their honeymoon, but that trip is postponed, also.

We are annual passholders at WDW, Universal Studios and Sea World, so all visits to those Parks won't be happening.

We're going to miss seeing our grandkids for awhile, but luckily we can still video chat. Not the same, but at least we can still "see" them.😍

My school is closed

Tickets to Gay Men's Chorus concert in April

Two week Alaskan cruise in early July

Leaving tomorrow to drive from LA to Bay Area to check on my son and bring him essentials....Toilet paper, hand sanitizer, etc. He is giving me chlorox wipes. He is on total lockdown, so we will just relax inside, cook, walk our dogs. I do not plan to eat anywhere on the drive and stay in the car bubble to his apartment bubble and back. Will buy gas with gloves on.

Well, we homeschool, so for the most part, our days are business as usual; however...
  • I had my annual check-up canceled and need to reschedule that.
  • The YMCA shut down, so no more swimming on the weekends.
  • Karate has shut down, so no more classes, BUT they have offered to do private lessons, one-on-one in half hour incrememnts, from a distance, no contact, and outside if the weather permits. I'm not sure how many people will take them up on the offer, but they are just trying to survive.
  • The library sent out an email yesterday that said they didn't care what items people had signed out...books, DVD's, whatever, that they didn't want anybody to return anything, there would be no late fees, and that all items had been renewed until April 30th. (Wish I would have anticipated that move and stocked up on a few extra things before they closed. At the time, I didn't want the hassle of trying to return stuff in the midst of everything else, so didn't make a book run when I could have.)
  • My husband has had a lot of work trips cancelled, but we didn't have anything booked, which was fortunate.

Swimming at local high school

2. My husbands ski trip with his buddies next week
3. Kids weekend catholic youth group preperation retreat for their Confirmation taking place in June. ( still on but need a back-up for preperation, classes
4. DGD's first communion is postponed...
5. My company increasing my working hours.. been fighting for years to get up to 80% and my boss was finally able to get it done..... literally 2 weeks ago. was in the process of being added in our HR systems. and then came the call from the very top, nope... makes sense as many will be layed off soon. This and the Hawaii hurt the most.

My sister passed away on March 6th. We were planning a Memorial Luncheon for her last Sunday. We felt it was best to cancel since we were expecting about 80 people.

We will have it when things settle down. Probably in the summer.
Sorry for your loss... It's a horrible situation for those families dealing with loved ones who pass during these times. By us it's already been communicated in our parish there will be no traditional funerals, only VERY immediate family allowed to attend the burial and private service for those who pass in the near time.

DS23 is devastated he won’t see Hamilton. He’s been waiting for years for it to come to our city and he won the Hamilton lottery.

Our family trip won’t happen. It was probably our last chance to go all together and I was really looking forward to the family time.

Dentist

Surgery because it’s non essential so I’ll be in pain for a few more months.

DSIL's bridal shower was rescheduled. I worry about her wedding (May 2nd).

Oh, and my annual work related seminar got cancelled last minute.

Unless the coronavirus miraculously disappears tomorrow, I'm 95% sure I'll be cancelling my trip to Japan this June. Oh well, I'll just go next year.
