As many DVC owners are unsure about when Disney Parks will reopen, would you personally visit with your family as soon as they open?

I only ask this question / poll since I know some DVC owners are in the elderly age group and or have autoimmune diseases. I for one do expect a substantially small park capacity when they reopen, but this doesnt really prevent disease spread. What are your thoughts?

Definitely not if they reopen before June. After that, it would depend on CDC info on community spread. I am in high risk group and have several family members in that group as well. Plus, I would feel terrible if my desire for a vacation resulted in anyone else getting sick. There will be people in the parks spreading the virus for many months to come.

Honestly I am thinking I will need to cancel all my summer vacation plans at this point. It doesn't seem worth the risk to me. My husband and I are both under 40 and have no health problems, but it doesn't mean I want to unnecessarily increase my risk of catching it and spreading it around to others when I get home. At this point I've booked a trip for November, hopefully things will be better by then.

Not a DVC owner -yet-, but I have fastpasses for 4/1, 4/2, and 4/3. If they are open, I will be there.

Disney will probably open when their lawyers think its safe.

The white house (Which had been called the Executive Mansion prior to Teddy Roosevelt residing there - thank you Hall Of Presidents!) is probably going to change its suggestion on the 6 foot social distancing concept in a week. If that causes it to fall by the wayside, then what difference does it make if Disney does it?

I have an early May trip, Im not cancelling it yet. Yet.

ETA:
However, I am not expecting to be going

I was supposed to do the runDisney star wars run, so I'm still scheduled to be at WDW April 15 to 20. I have my FP+ all ready to go. I have mixed feelings about going, I'm kinda waiting to see what happens day by day.

We cancelled our March spring break trip (would have been getting home tonight after a follow-on stop at Hilton Head).

We already had October reservations on the books, which we're planning to keep if things have improved at that point.

ETA: We'll make the call whether to cancel before the points would go into holding. We'd also have months to bank them at that point, so shouldn't lose any points as long as they can be used by August 30, 2022. If WDW is still closed at that point, we've got much bigger problems to worry about.

I think Disney won't reopen the parks until it'll be safe to do that, that's why I think they are not going to reopen anytime soon. And with soon I mean the summer. Maybe (big maybe) in the Fall.
I think I agree. I wish it were otherwise, but ...

We have a June trip booked, that I will wait until May to see what happens. We also have a late summer trip booked that again, we will see what happens with that. I had just started booking ADRs when COVID became a big problem here (late Feb) and I stopped in the middle of it. We'll see. If we get to take that trip at all, I'm not going to sweat getting the ADRs I want; I'm just going to be happy we can go.

I really hope I'm proven wrong, but I put our chances of going in late August at 50%.

We have a trip planned for Oct and if we can't go so be it. Its not that big of a deal - as an owner we can always go next year - right?

Even with Disney being a for profit company I dont see them opening before its safe to be in the parks. Question is: When is it safe to be in the parks?

If I should be optimistic I'd say, mid to late June. But that all depends on how things are dealt with or not dealt with. If the US turns out to be the new "Italy" that might prolong the closure of the parks.

One could also argue that if the US turns out to be like Italy then the parks will open sooner as a lot of people will be infected fast and then the country will have more people being immune to the virus going forward. This of course comes with a huge down side.

/stay safe.

I'm not sure I've read anything that indicates if someone has the virus and gets through it healthy, that they're immune to it. In fact, there have been reports of some people have it reoccur again after they already went through one bout. I'm not a doctor, but I don't think this is like measles or chicken pox- it's more like the "flu", and is something we could get again. It's why we're recommended to have a flu vaccine each year.

I can't do Disney in the heat. Well if it was a water park trip, and then maybe I was staying at the Yacht/Beach Club, I could.
