** June 2020 Check In **

Its looking more like we may have to cancel our trip in June. If school gets pushed back like it seems like it will then our trip will have to go. Our summer is already short as my daughter has both dance camp the first part of July and then 4 weeks of band camp right until school starts again. Wont be the end of the world as we will be back in November anyways but still...

I guess I am late to the thread.

I have been on ROTR but my family has not! I cannot wait for them to experience it.

We will be checking in June 24, checking out June 27. I've bounced around hotels a few times but for the moment we are going to try the Hyatt House at the corner of Katella/Harbor.

I have an AP but no one else does, so we had to get PH for the others. Thankfully we squeaked in before UCT tickets went up (about 2 days after the price increased was announced. I feel very fortunate.

I’ve got you listed!

Well I’m joining the JUNE group! I was supposed to go spring break April5-10, but with the stay home order until April 19, We changed our dates to June 28-July 3. Staying at the DLH.

Sigh....we’re supposed to go on a 9 day trip to California the first week of June including DL for 2 days. Even if the park is open by then, my husband isn’t sure he wants to go then, he says we should probably push it further out. He is talking spring break in early April next year. 😔 I would love to keep it in this year and maybe go on fall break, early October. I haven’t cancelled June yet, I don’t want to til I absolutely have to, I’m in denial, lol. Anyone on this thread been to California in October or April? What’s our best bet weather wise? We’re also spending 2 days driving up the coastal highway from LA to San Francisco.

Lifetime CA resident here - I've lived in both norcal (where I am now) and socal. The weather would likely be very nice in both October and April, but I think warmer, on average, in October, especially early October. We just went to Disneyland in early October this past fall. I'm a teacher, so we went over my long 4 day (fall break" weekend. The weather was very nice, but it definitely is warm. Of course, we've had 85 degree weather at Disneyland in November, March, and July...so who knows? Another thing to keep in mind is that Gay Days is in early October. We were there the 4-6, which was the Gay Days weekend. It was definitely more crowded because of that event, though not unmanageable. Just something to keep in mind. My gut feeling is that April is more crowded, though, especially if you're there during the week before or after Easter, which is when most CA schools have their spring breaks. If October break coincides with Columbus weekend, you are going to see a lot more crowds over that weekend. Weeklong fall school breaks aren't super common in CA, but having that Monday off is, so a lot of people spend 3 day weekends at Disneyland. We loved our October trip, and would go at that time again in the future, given the opportunity.

October is also the Halloween party (Oogie Boogie bash at DCA again this coming fall), which is very fun. Even without the party, you get the fun treats, decor, etc of fall/Halloween time. If your family likes that, it could be really fun. Also, if you've never done Disney in the fall (not sure if you have), it's something that should definitely be enjoyed at some point!

P.S. I'm the same way with not canceling our June trip yet, though with a lot of schools in CA making tentative plans to not reopen this year, I'm not super optimistic that I'll want to go even if the parks are open by then. Mostly I'm just trying not to think about it. My current gut feeling is that our June trip may move to Thanksgiving week.

We have just moved our trip to June from April, following the Dapper Days change, and thinking things will be in better shape by then anyway. Haven't re-booked our hotel yet because I'm hoping to get the Dapper Day discount again, but will likely stay and GCH, 6/17-6/21. Had to cancel all our April dining reservations this morning, but I'll get to make new ones next month :)

Hi! If everything is back up and running I’ll be at the Hilton Anaheim June 11th through 14th! *fingers crossed*

we decided to cancel our trip in early June (had to cancel the last part of it). Even if the parks are open we are thinking it may not be 100% safe yet. We will be going in November over thanksgiving and maybe a mini trip in August depending on schools and the virus.

Hi Everyone!

I'm feeling kinda down today. The rainy and cold weather here isn't helping me. I don't feel very hopeful that things will be much improved by the time my trip rolls around in late May/early June. I haven't cancelled yet, I'm trying to wait until the last minute to do that, but I've already received notice from my airline I could cancel if I chose to through the end of May. What makes me most sad is that I don't think I'd be able to reschedule in good conscience. While I don't work in a store, my job is tied to the retail world and with stores completely shut down its feeling a little shaky for finances these days. The whole world deserves a trip to the happiest place on earth after all this.

Hugs... Hang in there! Hoping we get some (good) solid news for you well before your trip dates!

Interesting and possibly good news for June travelers:
From this week's MP "DLR Update" (3/23-29/20):
Disney filed a permit with the city of Anaheim to allow them to keep the Food & Wine Festival Marketplace booths in use through September 7, 2020. We have no word from Disney about their plans, but an extended Food & Wine Festival would definitely help boost repeat attendance at Disney California Adventure, especially in conjunction with the opening of the Avengers Campus.

That would be cool!

We're pretty sure this is what will be happening with us, too - rescheduling to Thanksgiving week. Still haven't officially canceled the hotel room since it's easy to cancel and penalty free, but assuming we'll end up doing that at some point.

I'm sorry. I hope you are able to go in the not too distant future. I know the uncertainty of all of this can be tough to deal with.
