Also use to post there and enjoyed reading posts, but it did feel like a few years ago a new group of people came on, Some don’t seem to understand how a timeshare works, while others appear to disagree with everything DVC does, I don’t understand why they don’t sell since they seem to mistrust DVC

My thoughts exactly.

I need a haircut. I channel surfed and caught a stylist on TMZ who was explaining how to cut one's bangs. One of my employee's whose side job was a stylist (or maybe it was his main job lol) showed me that ages ago, and I've done it and ended up with bangs that were angled off to one side. I actually wear it brushed to the sides but it starts with the equivalent of bangs. I wonder how many of us will resort to chopping at our own hair before this is all said and done?

I’ve been thinking this brownhaired_girl is going to be pretty grey by the time we are done social distancing😳. We ordered pizza delivery tonight to support our local business.

I've been keeping up with the thread, but haven't really posted much and wanted to share a few things. Sorry it turned out so long!

@SouthFayetteFan - sorry about your childhood pet. It's so painful to lose a loved member of the family.

- Kansas issued a 30 day shelter in place order starting today. Our schools are already officially closed for the rest of the school year. I guess we're being extra cautious, which is fine. Luckily where we live we haven't had very many local cases yet, although we haven't tested much either I don't think.

- We're waiting on instructions for how the online learning will work, it should be starting next week. In the meantime I've been trying to have the kiddos do some worksheets I found online, and read a lot, watch some education youtube videos, and play educational online games. I told them we're doing this so their minds wouldn't turn to mush. My DS8 actually googled to see if that would happen :)

- I switched over our May flights to WDW from Kansas City to Wichita, and actually saved points. I feel kind of bad doing it, and not super hopeful the trip will actually happen, but if it does we'll be ready. I also added a day at the beginning, which meant I got to do fastpasses a day earlier than I planned. I booked our arrival night at Pop, then we'll move to BCV on DVC points. I also have a backup ressie for June at POFQ, and another later in June at CBR. We'll be using our AP's one last time, so without knowing how long the parks are closed, it's hard to plan much further out than that.

- I really wish I could apply for a CIP right now but I need to be good and wait until May (thanks @SouthFayetteFan for your post the other day).

- Any reports of retention offers on SPG Biz (Bonvoy Biz)? My AF is due and I don't think I really want to keep it. I paid the AF last year so hoping that would help keep the Amex popup away, which I think it did.

- Last thing (for now anyways) - I've seen several posts referring to gaining weight during this staying at home time. I thought I'd share that I've lost about 25 pounds since Jan. using intermittent fasting. I'm still trying to lose a few more, but right now I'm so grateful that I started this because I'm pretty sure otherwise I'd gain 50 pounds or so while I'm at home. I still struggle a little in the evenings lately during my eating window to not overeat/snack on all the food we've stocked up on, but I'm grateful that it's only for a few hours in the evening I'm struggling, not all day. My desk is set up right next to our kitchen, which definitely would have been hard to resist snacking all day if I wasn't doing IF. Anyways, just wanted to mention it in case it helps anyone :) Ok - off to work out now so I can eat :P

No worries. All's fair in the time of Coronavirus! We do have hiring notices out in all of our Divisions. We are looking to hire something like 30,000 people company-wide to help restock shelves, deliver groceries, etc. We are working with companies like Hilton and Marriott to hire their furloughed employees as well:

LOL, this is true!
That's awesome about the hiring of furloughed workers. Great idea!

Not the fall because of college schedules, but we're thinking about booking during the holidays :scared1: Younger dd will turn 21 on Dec 30, and we've all wanted to see the holiday decorations. Once my head is in a better place, anxiety-wise, I'll start planning something. I'm scared to book using DVC points until we know how things are progressing.

Dec 30 is my oldest DD's birthday and we did Disney one year on her birthday - Dinner at Le Cellier and Candlelight Processional ticket package. It may have been her 21st - she's 41 now so hard to recall. Then oldest grand daughter is Dec 31.

DH rope dropped (love that @snugglebug ) Safeway in Oakland today and he said it wasn't quite as Hunger Games as last week, but there were still 20+ people ahead of him. We are trying to go only once a week to minimize our exposure, but it's tough as we have a small fridge, four people now with the kids home, and are used to shopping almost daily. He was finally able to find ground turkey, which is a staple for us, jack cheese, and pasta. Still no tortillas, TP, or cleaning products. @Calfan isn't going to like this, but we may have to venture to Lucky's or Whole Foods later for the cleaning products. I'm really regretting not putting in the "magic toilets" right away like I was planning after our return from Japan. No TP necessary with those. Sigh.

I was finally able to get through to Virgin Atlantic today about DD20's one way trip that was cancelled from LHR to SFO next week. The agent refunded the miles right away, but said it could take up to 90 days to get the taxes back. Normally I would have complained and pushed on that, but after Richard Branson donated a plane to bring PPE to Oakland I'm giving them a pass :)

Couldn't find shredded mozzarella for DD to make pizza yesterday. We had the yeast the sauce the rest of the toppings, but all they had were 'sticks of string cheese'. So I bought them and told DD to use them by opening and pulling strings of cheese for the topping. Still don't smell it cooking......but I did see her eating a few pieces.

Plenty of tortillas around here.

So far you haven't even caused a ripple LOL

That's good. I was just tired of it, but I did go looking for some trash talk.

I'm natural white - it is me. I was black with the occasional reddish hair that gave a little reddish gleam when I was younger - pre age 35, but the bottle of dye never quite got it right and I did a lot of colors in between. Now I don't care and people seem to like it okay, except my son. I do like to have a stylish cut that swings a bit and stays out of my eyes, and I change that up as often as I can. Hair grows too fast.

Yep, dh will now be home with us for 2 weeks (cramping my daily work routine LOL, and the dogs routine). Will see when he gets home tonight if he is going to get paid or what, he said something about trying to field calls from here.

Does anyone know if the stimulus pkg will go off 19 returns if they are filed?

Mousecellaneous - does David's tell you if the renter cancels?

It's a load of armchair lawyers and repetitious posts. But with time on my hands I read most of it. I should know better. I used to be on the DVC boards a lot back a few years ago. Now I mostly lurk.

My real feelings - I hope everyone gets together to balance things out and mitigate losses. Share the pain three ways. Owners, brokers, renters who participated in a venture that has risks. That said, I would rent as an owner or renter if need be. The risk has been very small for the last 28 years.

My biggest peeve - the guy whose owner apparently tried to work with him to rebook and the window was all the way to feb 2021 and he came up with excuse after excuse - just wants his money.
As an actually attorney, I have to say the armchair lawyers on the DVC boards are the worst. They are so sure in their interpretations of any matter. Anybody who is an actual attorney, or even really attended just one day of law school, will tell you that the answer is generally never black and white and will always depend on the specific facts of each case and the specific wording in each contract.

Our public school update is we are out till at least April 20th.

DD's university announced they will have a "virtual" graduation on the regular date. Not exactly sure what that entails. Anyone wanting to walk will be able to in December. This makes me sad. IF DD's planned job actually still pans out she will be out of the country then. So I will be sad that she misses it, but also very sad if she is here to go to it because that means things are not back to normal and she didn't get to leave as planned. My mom said it is karma for us. DH and I graduated December 1994. At that time they had no winter commencement, you had to go back in May to walk. We were living 1000 miles away at that time and did not go back for it. So I am sorry to everyone that apparently I started this current situation way back in 1994. lol

I had read on CNN that they will go off 2019 returns if they have already been filed. If not, it will go off 2018.
