Resale direct through disney

I’m interested in buying dvc for the first time and been doing a ton of research on resale and direct from Disney. i live In Georgia so It would be nice to get the blue card so I can get the gold AP instead of the Platinum AP But I always hear buy where u want to stay. Unless you’re buying cheap points like SSR. But I don’t really want riviera. I was looking at buying poly or boardwalk cause they’re my wife’s and I favorite resorts. My question is if I buy a resale direct from Disney would it still have to be at least 100 points to get the blue card and also where can I find the price per point for direct resale from Disney. Does the direct resale from Disney also come with restrictions similar to if u sale riviera the new buyer wouldn’t be able to stay anywhere but riviera? Thx

As mentioned it's just buying direct from DVC and the prices are at a premium vs what you'll find on the actual resale market. PVB would be $245/pt so $90 to $100 more per point vs what you could likely negotiate resale. Then the math of paying $10,000 more to get a discounted AP becomes a big factor. For BWV it's also a similar price difference these days although more around the $80-$90 range so paying $8-9,000 more for the benefits you might use.

And as was mentioned in that article the prices that were rumored did go into effect on 10/31/19.

Which "that article" are you referencing? The poster I quoted posted a link to an article (which you can find online) was dated Feb. 2020. The article I linked (https://www.dvcresalemarket.com/blog/rumored-dvc-price-increases-coming-soon/ ) said it went into effect in Oct. 2019. Another website that was updated as of 3/12/20 has conflicting information: https://dvcnews.com/index.php/dvc-program/financial/pricing-a-promotions

The article you linked where the title stated it was rumor but within the comments and the article it had been updated to state it had gone into effect on 10/31/19.
