Non-AP Ticket Holders and New Park Reservations System-INFO POST #76

Disney’s usual trip rescheduling/cancellation policy is very good (although I’ve never needed to reschedule or cancel). I can’t find info about what happens if on Monday I make reservations for park entry in August and decide to reschedule for next August?

Just FYI - The Park Pass system is on the app as well as the website. Click "Learn More" under the "Learn more about the phased reopening...". Once you are on the next screen, you have to scroll down into the blue area and there's a link that says "Disney Park Pass System", same as the web site. It'll navigate you to the same instructions as the web site, though, just like the web site, there is no video walk-through or screen shots of what we can expect to see on Monday.

That's what I'm seeing too... I've only been on the website. I only see a written description of the steps that we will need to take, but no screenshots or video walk-through.

It likely won’t show up until Monday. It looks very similar to the FastPass system and I think lost will be able to figure it out quickly. I’ve only seen screen shots of the entire system

What screenshots have you seen? Could you post a link here?

Thanks to you both!

When on the website there are links under each step that give you more info. So far that is it.

I have read the official guidance and much of this thread. I'd like to summarize my situation and understanding to see if anyone thinks I am correct or misguided.

  • I have park tickets with a hopper option for a week in August. I have a non-package resort reservation for the same week. The reservation is DVC but I believe that has no effect on the ticket issues.
  • I got the email and may make park reservations on Monday 6/22 at 7am EDT.
  • If choose not to go, and do not use the tickets, they can be used literally any date through 9/26/21 with no upcharge even if prices increase in the interim.
  • Alternatively, if we do not use the tickets in August we can trade them in for any date after 9/26/21 and get the official ticket price as of the date of purchase as a credit.
  • To be eligible for either of the preceding 2 options all I have to do is not use our tickets for their official week in August.
  • If we do go in August, I may modify my tickets to drop the park hopper add-on and get an appropriate refund.
  • To do this I must call.
  • There is no stated deadline for when I must call to modify, but presumably it is before we use the tickets to enter a park.
  • Conversely, if we use the tickets without first having modified them, I will presumably not be entitled to a refund even though we could not get the benefit of hopping.
  • If park access is curtailed to limited hours per day, I may either use them and get no partial refund on account of limited access (apart from the hopping portion previously mentioned ) or delay the trip until hopefully things get back to normal.
I think that is all correct, including the best guess presumptions, based on official announcements. Any disagreements in any part?

I have pretty much the identical situation as you (DVC reservation, linked tickets, going in August). You mentioned that you received an email about making park reservations. I'm not sure I have received an email like that yet though. What was the subject of the email?

Random question for y’all.

Say, I make park reservations for my existing party. Person A and Person B. After those reservations are made, so Person B is unable to go and I reassign their ticket to Person C. Would I also be able to move those park reservations over to Person C?

My husband might not be able to attend due to a military travel ban currently and we are unsure how it will play out. I have a friend who will be able to take his place in the event he is unable to attend. But this park reservation system has me worried. I am able to make reservations on Monday for our trip in September.

Does anyone know for certain whether Dolphin & Swan count as an “other select partner hotel”? We have reservations at the Swan and also park tickets but have not gotten the email yet about selecting park passes. Thank you!

I'm totally fine with being 3rd in the pecking order, after onsite guests w/tickets and AP holders. But those with just a resort booking should certainly come AFTER us, as Disney needs to accommodate those who already purchased park admission before those that didnt (for whatever reason) regardless of where they are staying.
I agree with you - Disney has to take care of its existing liabilities before it takes on more. Especially with all the tickets affected by the closure, Disney has no idea how many people want to use them this year vs waiting for next year or beyond. Until Disney knows that, it doesn't make sense to sell more tickets.

That said, I feel terrible for those with only resort reservations, especially with DVC stays. If you just have a regular hotel room, it sucks to cancel, but at least you get your deposit back. Losing money or points is even worse.I hope DVC gets priority when Disney knows The numbers and starts selling tickets again. The DVC members have a lot invested in Disney, and their loyalty should be worth something to Disney.

Thank you for posting this. I haven't received this email ... weird. How long ago did you receive this?

Have other people who have DVC reservations and linked tickets also received this email?

I got the reservation one. But didn’t get the AP email.

I have an August DVC point reservation with NO tickets and I got that email.

I wonder if it's because I'm using rented points and I am not a DVC member. I would assume I still qualify to make park reservations, but maybe I should call tomorrow to be 100 percent certain.
