Resort Change by Disney

I'm at the 2.5 hour mark and I still have not had to put info in, nor have I talked to a human. And I am on silent hold. No Small World for me today! I need to have this done in about 45 minutes though because of work. Ugh. So hard to do this during a work day.

I'm at the three hour mark on hold trying to get my two rooms at All-star Music switched to either Pop or Cbr. For anyone that has the Recovery 20 room discount (that lost the fd bounceback offer), we're you able to still keep it? Tried doing all this last night but their system went down and the cm I spoke with said that the discount still applied (but you now the misinformation they tend to give out) 😂
I moved my trip to December and was able to keep the free dining recovery. The cm wasn’t sure if she’d be able to do it or she’d need guest services, but she was able to make the change herself. My updated reservation in MDE shows the same reservation # and recovery code along with the new dates. She told me that the modification had to be within 2020 to keep code.
Good luck

Glad most people are finding success. My journey began yesterday while trying to get my park reservations. Monday and Tuesdays are always full of meetings so I made several attempts throughout yesterday and I got nowhere. I was about to hit the cancel button on my two trips but decided to give it one more try during my morning run. I kept dialing the 7639 # and after 45 attempts; made it through. After entering in all my info the hold music began. I think this is the first time I've run to the Trolley Song and Small World.....I almost fell when a CM answered after about 25 min of being on hold. He said he should be able to help me but then said he needed to reach out to a manager. I was put on hold and he returned very quickly.

Original Reservation was Gran Destino Club Level in August, he originally offered my CBR. If I were staying in a regular CSR room I would have been ok with it. I declined and explained that I didn't find this to be an upgrade. He came back with CR (Garden Wing). I'm not a fan of CR at all. Stayed there once (Tower) and didn't like it so I asked to speak to a manager. After explaining things he said he couldn't do any better. I explained my disappointment and asked if there was anyone else I can speak to. He put me on a brief hold and said he's try to figure this out. In the end I ended up in a Deluxe Studio at Boulder Ridge and I am thrilled. Kindness and perseverance pays off. WL is one of my favorite resorts and while the rooms at Boulder Ridge are a bit dark I have no complaints. I hope everyone else finds success and some magic. Also first time poster, this thread has been beyond helpful! Thanks everyone! Total-time on the phone today (only 45min). Not bad after spending hours on the phone yesterday.

I'm in the same situation, Club Level Tower in late August. Good to hear you've had some success. The nightmare hold times has me waiting a few days to call but hope I can get something similar.

Okay! Nearly 5 hours today and after my two-day saga, my stay is settled! I was moved from AKL Jambo House, King Bed, Savannah View and after going through hurdles and countless times on hold, I'm now settled at the Polynesian, Lagoon View with price protection. I'm so happy, I've always wanted to stay at the Poly!!

Thought I would share my experience in case it is helpful to anyone.

I finally got through on the 7866 number after redialing for around an hour. CM picked up right away once the call went through.

My stay was Aug 9-15 at YC Garden View. He confirmed that, indeed, the YC would not be open by that date. He initially tried moving us to CR, Poly or BCV but there was no availability at any of those. He remarked that my dates were "a popular week" (this was a rescheduled move from my original early June dates).

Ended up with 3 options: Deluxe studio at Coppercreek Villas, Deluxe studio at Animal Kingdom (can't remember which DVC building but it was a safari view), or deluxe studio lake view at Bay Lake Tower. I chose Bay Lake Tower.

My original reservation at YC was with the Fun/Sun discount. This move to BLT Lake view was an additional $1500. He initially just quoted me the new package price like he was just providing the information to me. I have a feeling that if I had not said anything he would have just booked me and expected me to pay that difference. I said, "Now, I don't have to pay that price difference, do I? " He then said "Hmmmm, well let's see that is about a $1500 price difference......tell you what....how about I get you some price protection?" I said, "Yes, please" then he applied the price protection to my new resort.

So, nice upgrade although, I love YC for the location to DHS and Epcot, but this lake view sounds nice too. Just wanted to make sure you all know to press them for the price protection as they seem all too happy to have you pay the difference if you don't know better.

I called the 7866 number... was getting busy signals or all circuits busy but kept pounding the number for 3 or 4 minutes and call #24 finally went through. They picked up in TWO MINUTES. I got Millie, and she was fantastic.. moved our October ASMo standard room to a Pop standard room... she told me I’d have price protection but when she ran it, it ended up being $143 cheaper, which she said was because of different county taxes, so she adjusted my bill down. She said it could take up to 24 hours to show up in MDE but it’s already there. She confirmed no changes were needed to Magical Express since my resort reservation number stayed the same, and confirmed there would be no impact to my Park Pass ressies... and I can still see them in the app. I also got a confirmation email already with the resort change and new price. Whew! So we get the bonus of the Skyliner for less money! I’m a happy camper today. Good luck to all of you! Keep pounding that 7866 phone number!

I don’t know if this helps but those of you with reservations at the YC, GF and GDT being displaced because of the NBA make sure when you speak to guest services that you push that. At this point it’s not a good look for Disney that they are booting people to accommodate the nba deal. I was at YC Standard view and got moved to poly lagoon view. My friend was at GF standard view and got moved to poly 2 bedroom villa. Just a thought but it may work.

I was able to move my AKL king pool view to Contemporary, but didn't realize when I agreed to it that it was the "garden wing" rooms as opposed to the villas. I was told that was the only option that came up, but I'm not as thrilled and thinking I should've pushed (tho the lady was super nice and I don't think she was trying to bs me). Wonder if you can call and change again haha (prrrooobbbably not I'm guessing).

Ugh I’m another one whose TA is saying not to worry about our November POR reservation and that Disney will eventually move us. I’m just nervous that If I wait for a month or so for things to die down and let people with closer vacations get settled there won’t be anything left for me. I’m at a loss of what to do because my family is telling me it’s not a big deal but I just want this mess behind me. Luckily I have time on my side, but locked into our dates because of the Wine and Dine race. Hugs to all you July people still having issues!

Well, I went from a King room at POFQ to a standard room at the Boardwalk for my Oct trip. It is one of the resorts that I have never stayed at but am happy to be able to walk to Epcot, my favorite park.

Finally after 3 1⁄2 hours on hold, we got our 2 rooms at all star music switched to 2 rooms at Pop century with no additional cost out of pocket. He did apply that 35% room discount that we had when we lost free dining and there was a slight difference in price between each room but he's going to submit a form to price lock us at our original rate at all star music. Now I can finally get a little bit excited that I'm going on a vacation😀

UT UPDATE:

On call #107 to the guest services line I got through, talked to a very helpful cast member. She was super fast and very knowledgeable. Double checked all of her answers with someone else that was dealing with third party bookings. Their policy for third party bookings changed yesterday (I'm assuming that they designated their wholesale dept to this after the overwhelming mess of calls).

Here is what she said: UT comes out of a different inventory (wholesale) along with other sites like expedia, etc. They have designated an entire dept to updating these rooms automatically. They will modify you to a room of equal or greater value at no charge and this will be reflected in MDE. Since my stay is 7/16-7/20, she said it could be updated in MDE as early as tomorrow but it will likely be Friday-Monday of next week. They are going in phases according to your arrival date. The changes will be updated in MDE first, then Disney will send you an email, and then UT will also send you an email.

Something else she mentioned: The 7 day auto cancel is not as scary as it sounds-- even if you haven't had your room modified, they will NOT cancel you if you've tried to reach out via chat, email, or call. They will also reach out to you 2-3 days before your stay if they have not heard from you. So have someone put in your notes that you have called even if they are not able to modify you!

Thanks for your help, everyone! Hopefully I get my update soon!

Gave up on calling but was able to modify from POR standard to CBR standard online for August and saved a couple bucks. Makes me wonder whether I missed an opportunity to upgrade, but at least I avoided hours on hold I guess!

Yes... I moved from Sports to AoA. Original trip July 7-12 and switched to November. I was adamant to keep park hoppers in case hopping is allowed come November so kept them. But yes, my new package says Recovery20

Yeah, basically if you want to keep a king at CR, the only thing is the garden wing.

Took me 2.5 hours on hold.

I was booked for AOA because of the splash pad for my 2 year old. I explained how this trip has been rebooked 4 different times already before our July 18th arrival and how its now already missed both of my daughters birthdays that it was supposed to be a celebration for. I couldn't rebook for any other resort outside of POP unless I wanted to pay DVC prices per the person I spoke with if I wanted another resort with a splash pad. I'm less then thrilled at the current moment about everything.

Update - was on hold with the # 7639 for 2hrs 15 mins,. after 45 busys on the # 7639 number was on hold for 12 mins..I got POP at same price as ASMO 🙄
