Resort Change by Disney

Try calling the 407 939 7866 number. I’ve used it successfully a few times and it might save you some time on hold. It takes me about 10 ish mins of dialing to get through the line, but once I do there is little to no wait. Some people have reported being questioned as to how they got that number, but I have not. The GS person who picked up was happy to help me.
I sort of had that same experience. I called that number and got through to a lovely woman who was a huge help, but she told me that she could only help because I had an accessible room on my reservation. A coworker wanted me to ask if she could talk to her and change after I was done and she told me she couldn't. Strange because I know so many of you had success with that number. Very strange though.

I asked this same question when I got someone on the phone this morning and was told no, the 35% cannot be moved to next year. I cancelled our 2020 trip. Really hoping that option was NOT truly available, lol.

What about a 2020 package, let's say for November or December?

To anyone worried about MDE showing a balance for a changed resort. Was changed on Tues from POR to CR Garden Wing and still showed a balance due. Just got an email confirmation for my stay 7/15 and checked MDE and balance has disappeared. So don't worry. 😉 😌

I've spoken to Wholesale twice. Wholesale told me that they would be moving guests, but it could happen anytime up to the day of arrival. Crazily enough, the "must confirm within 7 days off arrival" still applies. I booked through UT. I discovered that if I used the reservation number UT showed in my account when I called Disney (which is different than the MDE one - MDE one is alphanumeric, UT one is just numbers) I got sent right to Wholesale. You might try that. At least to confirm you still want to come, so you don't get cancelled.

Would the Wholesale number work for any third party booking? I booked with rewards, it does not show in MDE at all, Disney said the third party will be notified, but the third party keeps insisting the resort is still open and there is no issue.

I didn't ask about the remainder of 2020 as none of the dates would work for us between work, school, daughter starting college etc.

When we figured out that September probably wasn't going to work out for us I made a back up reservation for November, no discounts. When the 2021 packages came out I made a second backup reservation for January. It is time to free up at least the September dates so someone else can get that room at CBR but I do want to see if we can get a discount for the November or January dates.

As far as I know, yes, it is for all third party bookings.

Just a heads up for anyone staying at AKL JH. Saw on the rumors and news thread that this resort was taken off the website list of reopening resorts for July 10th. Called and the CM I spoke to did confirm this resort no longer has a reopening date. Had to be moved again for early August.

Okay, panicking a little because I think I screwed up my "are you still coming" email response for our August stay. I chose "I need to modify my package" because I need to change our park tickets. But when I called in they said they can only modify our dates and resort, not tickets--. Does that mean my reservation is going to be cancelled 7 days ahead? I knew I should have picked "I'm still coming" and now am worried I've botched it, but it won't let me change my selection.

Anybody here have a Travelocity reservation get moved? Or actually spoke with wholesale reservations department at Disney? I'm getting kind of antsy about our AKL CL room not being moved yet and already talked to GS and Travelocity pointing fingers at each other as to who's going to move it. 21 days to check in and no real answer when people 5+ months away are already relocated makes for a frustrating situation.
Calling seems to get wholesale people nowhere. The reservation will be changed and your first indication will be when a different hotel shows up in your plans on MDE. We haven't seen this happen yet, not even for July people. There were some September/October people booked through a travel agent who found out about the changes (beach club to poly) through MDE like this. They all seemed happy.

Yep. I was initially at AKL, then they moved me to the villas. The move didn't sit right with me (got moved to a standard view from a savannah view) so I called back the next day and was moved to the Poly. I'm so glad I went with my gut feeling and insisted on a resort move because I would hate to have to hear that there's now no reopening date and call for hours again. I had a feeling this would happen because GS kept pushing Kidani on me with Sanaa but I said that I only do QS and he didn't mention anything about the Mara (making it seem like he knew something no one else did) so then he went to find me an open resort with QS.

It really depends on who your third party is... UT seems to at least be reaching out to customers to confirm their reservations. I wouldn't be so sure about Travelocity. He at the very least needs to confirm his reservation so it doesn't auto cancel.

To those booked at the Port Orleans resorts and getting moved to other resorts besides CBR... how? I have no interest in CBR but the CM told us we had no choice unless wanted to go to Pop. Very frustrating.

When are your dates? Are you traveling before CBR reopens? Even then, I'm really surprised they'd try to downgrade you.

8/8-8/11. We called in right at 7 am on Monday and waited about four hours. Once we got through to guest services we were told the rate protection would only apply to CBR. We expressed that this was a downgrade for us as we love POR and do not care for CBR, but they didn't budge. My sneaking suspicion was that they were advised to sell/push CBR first until that was filled, then go back to upgrading as needed.

I would try to be firm with what you want. My TA told me they were trying to change my akl Savannah view at Jambo house to a Kiddani studio. She requested a one bedroom to compensate for the move, so that’s what I have for September.

Why would they do that though? By the time families are allowed to join them (August 30th) there are only 8 teams left. And each team gets 17 rooms. Why close an entire resort for 136 rooms? Idk
To maintain the isolation before they enter the bubble.
