How Happy Swap Gift Cards Work
Most Happy gift cards can be used in-store at the retailers listed on each card. As you might notice on these three new brands though, there’s a note stating ‘Online Redemption Required’.

That’s what makes these ‘Swap’ cards. Rather than being able to go in-store and redeem them immediately, you have to go to redeem.giftcards.com and choose how which retailers you want to redeem the gift card at and for how much. You then receive a store-brand eGift card which can be used both online and in-store in most cases. The good thing is that you don’t have to redeem the full value of the Happy Swap gift card in one go, nor do you have to redeem the full value for the same brand. By GC Galore

5 New Giving Good Gift Cards: Buy Gift Cards To Give 3% To Select Charities
These cards have just been launched with five charity partners, with each brand having its own partner. Here are the different eligible charities and the retailers and restaurants at which you can use them.


Giving Good gift cards work in much the same way as Happy gift cards in that they can be redeemed at select retailers indicated on each card. The key difference (other than the eligible retailers) is that Giving Good cards give a 3% donation to the charity associated with each card. By GC Galore

SWAP Holiday Favorites & The Choice Gift Cards
In addition to all the new Happy gift card brands and Giving Good gift cards, Blackhawk Network has launched a couple of other new brands which appear to work in a similar way to Swap Happy gift cards that being online redemption is required.

These gift card brands are so new that it’s not clear whether they’re going to be classed as Happy gift cards when it comes to in-store and online promotions. If they are, that’s great news as it’s always good to have additional options.

One other thing to be aware of is that there are a couple of different designs for the Holiday Favorites gift card. One has a penguin (above) and the other has fir and holly (below). All the eligible retailers are the same though.


The most important fact about these new cards, it’s not possible to, say, use a Holiday Favorites gift card at Lowe’s to buy an Amazon or Disney gift card.

I messed up - I earned healthcare rewards and I turned them into Walmart e-gift cards, thinking I could then order Disney gift cards online. Then I remembered that it was Target that I was able to order online using the gift cards. So can someone confirm for me that I can go to a Walmart location and do an equal purchase of DGC in the store using my Walmart gift card? Thanks!

Walmart (WM) DP:

• It's still possible to buy GCs with WM GCs but double check for yourself at your stores as it maybe regional.
• It has been reported WM e-gift cards are no longer working at Sam's Club in-store however, you can still use them when purchasing online.
• You can load your WM GCs onto your WM account and then use the Walmart Pay feature within the Walmart app at checkout.

I've not read any new reports of things changing here. I hope others respond if it has. I'll be happy to update.

Thanks for the report. Interesting. The extra layer of complexity redeeming those cards make them less desirable for me. Not that I wouldn’t try it given a great deal on them. I notice Home Depot is only on the Habitat card, and I don’t see JCP or BB&B on any of them. That reminds me, I think I spent all my JCP and BB&B gc’s this spring/summer, but I’m going to double check on that. I’d rather not be holding on to anything from either company right now.

You picked right. You can no longer by GC with GC at Target. (Haven't been able to for years.) Walmart may be YMMV but there are alot of work arounds as FoxC63 mentoined so you should be able to make it work.

Third Quarter ends today ... so I planned to use up my Discover 5% cashback with PayPal. I noticed RMN has 3% cashback at BJs which allows check out with Paypal plus their GC are already reduced. If it all works it is a 11+% discount. (RMN is definitely YMMV.)

Then I noticed I already used up all my 5% cashback. But maybe it will help someone else.

Target stores and Target.com will be holding Deal Days during the same time frame as Prime Day — midnight on Tuesday, Oct. 13 until 11:59 PM Wednesday, Oct. 14 (not sure the time zone just yet).

Target’s official post about Deal Days promises “hundreds of thousands of deep discounts across Electronics, Home, Essentials, Toys, Beauty, and more.”

I thought paypal worked online for BJs. I don't think it works for Sam's or Costco.

Would be an interesting DP to see if the new Paypal Key (a digital CC) used at Costo.com/Sams.com would count for bonus. I think it should, but have not tested. I had planned to do that with Discover last quarter, but got too busy.
