AP Partial/Full Refund Question and Answers...?

There is no rhyme or reason to the refund distributions from Disney. My and my husband's signature plus passes expired 10 or 11 days after the parks closed so late March 2020. I did not request a refund but now that they are refunding all I suppose I will receive between $30-$40 for each. Have not received that refund yet.

Younger DS signature pass with Maxpass expired 8/6/2020. He did request the refund option back in June. His refund showed up on his credit card in December. No communication but the money showed up so we were happy to see that refunds actually do happen. :-)

Older DS flex pass expired 11/26/2020. He requested the refund option back in June earlier in the month than his brother. Admittedly, his pass expired on a later date than his brother's. No refund has yet shown up.

In-laws flex passes expired 11/26/2020, the same day as older DS's. Mother-in-law requested refund option back in May. One credit showed up on her credit card in December sometime before younger DS got his refund for his pass that expired earlier. Mother-in-law was convinced that was the full refund for both passes. Based on reports here on this board though about each pass being credited back individually and the amount of the refund I would expect them to get for each pass, I believe it was a refund for only one of the passes. I had her check her credit card records again, but so far that is the only refund that has shown up. She has received no e-mails from Disney.

So to sum up, with six passes total, 3 different pass types, 3 different expiration dates, 4 requests for refunds and 2 let-em-rides, all 6 passes expired now for at least 2 to 10 months, we have received a total of 2 refunds.

Update: Refunds for DH and my passes showed up on my credit card. $44 each.

It just magically appeared today. We ended up making money on it which feels wrong. I will just tuck it away in our travel account and hope to plan something soonish.

Sig+ on monthly. Upgraded from a 5 day PH w/MP. I was only 3 payments in, but had already paid off 50% of my pass by that point due to the large down payment.

When did your AP expire?

When did Disney process your refund?
Says February 11, 2021 on my statement, but I checked before midnight and didn't see it or any indication it was coming based on available credit. Actually showed up after midnight on February 12, 2021 :confused3

Did you receive notice from Disney a refund was processed?
Received email it was being processed February 11, 2021

Extra notes:
Still waiting to hear if my mom has gotten hers. She has not gotten an email yet. I'll be asking her to check her credit card account again later today. We've been checking daily since the announcement.

Amount was for more than I expected. I'm not complaining. I will if my mom's isn't the same as there was nothing different about our passes.

This refund put me in negative reward points on that credit card because it's not the one I bought the tickets with. Just the one I used for monthly payments :headache:. Not a huge deal, but just annoying.

This went to the last card a payment was successfully processed to. I had switched it to a different card just after my third monthly payment (the one I originally wanted to use). But it never had a payment processed to it.

Credit back to card

I thought it would take longer for refund since I had only called to extend our APst back in the spring. I have already received credit back for two flex pass two weeks ago. All my siblings who had an AP also got a refund today. All different contracts.

Credited back to my credit card.

I ended up getting $490 back, when I spent $699 on the Flex pass (with Maxpass) and used it for 7 days in the park between Nov and March. I calculated the value I got out of it (according to how much tickets would have cost for those 4 trips) to be over $1000. So feeling pretty good about that, if not about losing my AP.

Update:

My mom has not been checking her account like I thought she had been. Her refund posted 6 days before mine for the exact same amount.

Posted to her credit card she used to pay (same deal as me that a 5 day PH w/MP was upgraded). However no email it was being processed. Didn't even receive the "we're ending the program" email. We do live at the same address, but our accounts are separate contracts.

So we're all settled with our refunds. Not happy they had to happen, but we're satisfied the amounts are at least reflective of the time lost versus what we paid.

This is probably a stupid question, but how can I tell whether a credit was for my annual pass or a canceled hotel reservation? I had so many hotel reservations over the past year that were canceled one by one either by me or by Disney. I assumed there would be some kind of indication when a credit was the refund for my pass, but maybe I received it and just assumed it was a hotel reservation? I guess I should have kept better track. My pass would have expired in October.

Was the refund a CREDIT on your credit card?

Yes, it is a closed credit card account so I'm working out with the bank either getting a check or seeing if they can move it to my checking.
A check mailed to your home?

We upgraded from 3 day hoppers with Maxpass Labor Day weekend 2019, with the plan of doing a trip every other month ending with Labor Day again. We got 3 trips in before the closure. I think we got those three trips for the price of the 3 day hopper when all is said and done. I'd prefer to still have the Flexpass for another 6 months after opening, but it is what it is.

I believe it looks different if someone paid in full, but this is what it looked like on my statement as well as my mom's:

I would look for anything that says "AP".

Thank you. I paid in full for my AP and it doesn't look like any of the credits on my card would be for that. For one thing, all of the credits are on my Chase Disney Visa, which I don't use as my regular cc and is not the card linked to my Disney account (I usually only use it to make Disney hotel reservations). For another, they all appear to be hotel reservations. Most are also back in the fall. Here's a snip:

Edited to add: the Credit Balance Refund is where I had a zero balance and rather than have a credit on my card, I requested the credit be transferred to my checking account.

Yeah, I've run into the credit balance issue before. I have that right now because of Disney :rotfl: . I'm just letting my bank auto move it to my checking when my next statement posts. I'm too lazy to request it.

And looking at that, you're correct. I don't see anything that looks like an AP refund. All looks like hotel.

Here's hoping it posts soon!

I was not expecting a refund. I had 3 FlexPasses on monthly payments. Our last payment was March 10, 2020. They stopped taking payments after that. Since the park closed on March 14, I figured I was just out the last payment as we could have used the passes for those 4 days.

I just noticed 3 refunds of $68.77 each. Two of those posted on 2/9 and one posted on 2/10/21. I can't make sense of the math. It seems to be little more than the cost of the last month. We didn't have parking or MaxPass on our passes.

They didn't start doing the refunds until Jan, so you haven't gotten it yet. I had a pass that expired in May 2020, and got the refund. I have another that was purchased in May 2020 and never activated. Still waiting on that.

Ok, thanks! Not worrying, just curious about whether it came and I didn't notice. It'll be nice when it shows up :)

Got my email on Thursday, still waiting for it to post. This is for a premier pass. And I finally got my call back from wdw (took 20 days) and was able to downgrade to a gold voucher (dvc member).

Please post update when you get your refund. I am in exact same boat. When I called in to find out my refund amount they made it sound it would only be for dlr even though my wdw was good until 7/2021. And our gold pass starts 4/1 correct?

I was told it’s a voucher so it will start upon redemption and it’s showing as a voucher in my MDE account with a 2099 expiration. And the refund should be from 3/14 through your original expiration date less any refunds received for the whole price of the pass based on what you paid. I know mine is going to be a weird number and not a good indicator for someone that paid in full since I was on the monthly payment plan and still had 2 payments to go (4/20 and 5/20).

Mine says DVC Gold Pass renewal certificate with 2099 expiration. Did you pay $650 for it or the full price of a new pass? Were you on the monthly plan because you bought signature plus and added on WDW? I wasn’t aware that was a possibility so paid in full for the premier. Guess that point is moot now though.
