Random Confirmation Email for Stay

Last night, I received an email confirmation for a stay at SSR from 1/1/22 to 1/8/22. The issue is that I never booked a stay at SSR for those dates. I did book us at BC for 1/2/22 to 1/7/22. I saw the email this morning and logged on to see if, somehow, my stay had been switched. Luckily, my dashboard still shows that we are booked at BC on the dates we requested. Did anyone else receive a random email like this or was I just lucky?

That is a a new one on me. First, I would check the sender to make sure the email is actually from DVC. If from DVC, the second question I have is, "Do you own at SSR?" You mention getting BCV for 1/2/22 to 1/7/22, which is usually something difficult to do at 7-months out and thus I am guessing you own at BCV. If you do not own SSR, then it was impossible for you to make that reservation that begins 1/22/22 since it is more than 7-months out. If you do own SSR, have you checked the SSR contract to assure no points have been taken on that one?

If it is in fact an email from DVC, you need to contact MS and let it know of the error, to make sure you are not eventually charged for the stay and to allow MS to figure out what it did wrong, e.g., did it send the email to the wrong member and that member is still waiting for a confirmation email?. Since lately, it has been near impossible to reach MS by phone, you may want to attempt that communication via the online email.

It was an email from DVC, strangely enough. I don’t own at BCV or at SSR; our points are at RIV but I was able to book our dates at BCV last week.

I didn’t even think about emailing MS since I wasn’t showing the stay on my dashboard and my points were accurate but that’s a really good idea; I shall email them now!
