Talking to Youself

Out loud. In public.

Sure, I do so frequently. I don’t care if anybody hears me; I’m hoping they do.

On a crowded sidewalk, there might be a planter with flowers and I’ll say “Such pretty ageratums.”



Or at the supermarket turning down the next aisle and seeing an endcap display. “Oooooh, tomato sauce!!”

And yes, sometimes I ask myself questions and even answer them.

Me, Myself and I = a wonderfully interesting trio especially on 100 mile solo bicycle rides. Those Tour de France guys are lucky because usually they have someone else to blame when there is a crash but when out solo it's a "you dumb-a**" Should be an excellent 100 miler next Saturday for our 71st Birthday bicycle ride. Great company and conversation all night long as we start at 12:01AM to ABBA's "GIMMIE! GIMMIE! GIMMIE! (A Man After Midnight)"

I don’t but I generally don’t like talking so I guess I don’t bother talking out loud to myself either. The other day I was thinking it’s funny when people talk to themselves in the 3rd person. For example. My MiL will say something to herself like ‘oh Betty why did you drop that?’

One year in college, my roommate was also named Carol. We each talked to ourselves out loud and it was comical. I might say "Carol, that was a dumb move" and she'd wonder what she did.

I don’t talk to myself in public but I definitely do when I’m alone which I am all day long until my husband gets home. Good to see there are others that do the same because I was seriously concerned that I was loosing my mind.

Talking to yourself can also be a way to work out a solution to something.

Both my husband and I talk to ourselves but he's usually doing it while doing some task. I'm that way too but given that I'm the more talkative one in the relationship I def. talk more out loud to myself more and under more circumstances lol
