Just watched the first episode of "The Mysterious Benedict Society". - its REALLY good !!

No, but I'm gonna have to check it out based on your recommendation. Last time I slept on Secret of Sulphur Springs, but when I finally watched it I loved it!

FAN-tastic!

I only watched the first one, but it really exceeded my expectations. I love how absolutely, anti-cynical it is - it's like the movie Tomorrowland. This is worth a watch. I can't decide if I should jsut watch the second one right now or savor it.

I watched the second epsiode last night - also very good! The early part is a bit "explainy" for a minute, but it gets going and is great after that!

I love the kids, but I think Constance just makes it. That girl is something else, and the child actor does a great job with the deadpan delivery!

The early part of the book itself is VERY "explainy". I think you go a third of the way through the book before the kids ever get started on what they need to get started on. (Trying not to spoil anything. :) )

And yes, Constance is awesome!

We had already read the first book so we watched the first 2 episodes the day they dropped, and then DS asked me to see when the next episode would air (every Friday from July 2nd through Aug. 6th) and he was awake at 6:45 am yesterday asking me if I was ready to watch episode three! So, yep, we definitely like it here.

(Of course, there are differences from the book, like any show or movie. In order to not have to pause the show 758 times for DS to point out every difference, we devised a code where he just claps his hands twice for every difference he spots, LOL!)

My DD15 is obsessed with Constance !! She wants to adopt her !

I just watched the third one - it's so great! It feels like it's going under the radar, but I really hope it's a big hit. It just drips with quality in every facet. It's stylish and thoughtful, and it loves what it is. Sometimes that's hard to capture. It also looks great in scope! I hope people don't sleep on it.

Oh interesting! I knew of the book but not that there was a series. Where can I watch this?

Episode 4 was another good one. The show is really kind of amazing. Spoilers:

The scenes in the "waiting room" were making me anxious. That place is torturous and very well realized!

The latest was really good! Everything is just so well-realized - the show really takes you on a journey with the characters and makes you feel what they feel. Very rarely do you see such emotional conveyance from a show like this one does. It's like something I can't really describe.

Who is up through Episode 6? Oh my - the show continues to amaze! I love it's ambiguous setting - sometime in the past, maybe, but not really, and somewhere that seems like Europe but might not be either. There's no need to define it - it just works!

We were in Disney, so have to catch up and watch the last three episodes--- just chiming in to say that the use of "Shilo" in the scene with Constance was brilliant ! Perfect song choice !!
