Well after spending 18 hours trying to just get antibiotics for kiddo, my short trip to TO is now in jeopardy. Health care in the age of covid is beyond ridiculous. Phone to get an emergency appointment at 8, talk to the nurse at 930, get an appointment to be seen by an actual doctor for 515, then told to go to ER at CHEO because she doesn't want to prescribe the wrong antibiotics. Get to ER at 630, get triage at 720, sit in various places until 130 when the doctor finally sees us to prescribe antibiotics. Kiddo was so anxious about the whole thing he threw up, is still throwing up, and now I can't get him to keep the meds down. Very frustrated because if the family doctor had just given us a prescription he would be feeling better instead of like this, with maybe 6 hours of decent sleep. Any way. I have until 2 to cancel the hotel, no idea if I can move wonderland or to when and feeling very defeated.
First stop is Fairmont Hot Springs in the Kootenays for two nights. And we splurged and are staying at the Fairmont resort there. Then it's on to Calgary via Banff. Doing to zoo in Calgary then going on to Drumheller. On the way back we will stay in Red Deer on Sylvan lake and then finally Salmon Arm back here in BC before getting back home. And because we won't have to isolate our youngest I can now buy tickets to the PNE so we can go the last weekend in August vs Labor Day weekend.
when is your next Disney vacation? I have December booked but probably going to postpone until at least mid January so my 11 year old can get vaccinated before we go (he turns 12 early December so I think he'll be good by then, but reluctant to move it until I know more about vaccines for the younger kids). Maybe we'll end up there at the same time too lol
