Official 2021 Disney Very Merriest After Hours Thread

For those of you who have gone to the party, how quickly has your group been getting around the next morning? Still trying to make a decision about going, and then on top of that trying to make a decision about which park to do the next day (i.e. which park will not making rope drop, or stacking lightening lanes for the evening, etc be most beneficial!) Leaning towards Epcot, do a couple rides with the late open, possibly stacking LL for HS after 2pm but then going back to Epcot for the late hours. I’m excited to try the party but the expense, plus costing a RD the next day makes al the expenses even more hard to swallow! 😩 We are rope drop to close kind of people and I would make that day a non-park day but we are staying at deluxe specifically for the EMH so I hate to lose those at Epcot if we don’t do a park that day.

We don’t go to the party til Dec 21 but we planned for Dec 22 to be Epcot.
As l know we’d be miserable if we had to get up at 7 or something the next morning, DH and DS for sure ;)
We are staying at a moderate though.
If you are staying at a deluxe just make your next day a late start at park of choice - since you’ll be staying up later again anyway.

But I would not do that if my kids were with me. I plan to sleep in the muppets theater... joking... but am I?!?

I’m planning Epcot the day after my party in early December. I’m at Beach Club, so I don’t really have to factor any travel time in, just wake up, get dressed, and bang, I’m at Epcot. Also going solo, so if I don’t get going in time to rope drop Epcot, there’s no one else that’s going to be sad about having to wait in a longer line.

This sounds like my plan except RD at AK at 7:30 and then head to Epcot and stay until closing...I'm also going solo and hoping after the party night I'm not too tired! Maybe I'll copy your plan and get a nap in during It's Tough to Be a Bug!

We're also doing Epcot the next day. We'll have deluxe extended hours that night, so we won't sweat it if we aren't there til 11.

With the party ending at 1 am, then transportation, realistically it’s 2 am until we’re back at the resort. Clean up, change, get to sleep, could be 2:30 am. Getting up at 7 am for rope drop sounds like death but we aren’t as crazed as most. We’re leaving the next day open.

No one has commented on how crowded busses are after party....I think a lot people especially those with kids leave after the fireworks and then a lot more probably leave after the 2nd parade so does that mean no bus lines by 1:00 am??? I was thinking of leaving during 2nd parade to avoid a long wait for a bus....

We are doing AK after the party. Since it’s me and a 2 year old, I’m not worried if we get a late start as there isn’t much at AK for a short 2 year old to do…she also doesn’t do well sitting for the safari ride so will probably skip that this time

Left MK after 1 and walked right on a waiting bus. The depot was deserted.

I would for sure crash and burn trying to do all this after being out until 2am or later. 🤪 And I consider myself a night owl.

Our post-party day (today) we slept in, got to Animal Kingdom at 11 and stayed until close. Purchased ILL$ for FOP so we would not have to wait for that. Did Everest, safari and Navi on standby. Took it easy during meals and walking around seeing animal exhibits.

I tried buying tickets off of Sam's Club and other vendors but the orders were canceled as sold out. I was able to buy tickets today for 11/21 on ticketsatwork.com
I am so excited for the Christmas event! I thought we wouldn't be able to go since tickets sold out.

I figure I got that mom no sleep thing in my favor..I'm also a doctoral student and have had my fair share of late nights. Sleep is for the weak!!!!

Based on your story, I tried ticketsatwork for the dates I'm in town and unfortunately none available. I also found out I could have saved another hundred bucks on tickets there over the ones I bought at UT, so double bummer, lol

I priced my park tickets there (Tickets at Work) and they list them for less but if you take them all the way to the cart the savings was around $5 a ticket because of the fees they add. I didn't see any benefit of getting them there to save that little. Of course if they have sold out party tickets then that's worth it.....but not park tickets.

That makes sense. I think the UT site gives you the full price up front. I usually forget I have access to the tix at work site, so haven't thought about looking there before buying.

I was also going to get my tickets there. However, when I got all the way through, the price was actually higher than buying directly at Disney. We are going the 19th though, and there was no discount for that day.
