I have followed this thread on and off for several years but I never really post...until recently. I am in a quandry about what to do and I can't find if this question has been addressed. DH has 3 Chase biz cards - one was originally a CIP but now they are 2 CICs/ 1 CIU. He would like to prepare to get another one soon. Should he close one or more of them? If closing one, should it be the oldest or the middle one? (His last card was obtained last summer so it is less than one year old.)

Also, should he do anything with the CL of the one(s) he is going to close - like move some of it so it will be available in case his new one has a low CL? Also, what should be the timing of closing one/two and then applying for a new one?

How is your DHs overall Chase CL…business and personal cards vs household income….usual recommendation is around 50% or $75k whichever is lower.
If it’s fine…before Covid the recommendation probably would be to cancel the oldest card…..in 2021 most here were approved with a $3k CL so had to reallocate from other business cards, recently it seems as though the approvals have been in the $5k-6k range….
If closing …(I’d close the oldest )or reducing CLs..wait a few days before applying

Thanks for your reply! His total Chase CL is fine (and he is either 1/24 or 0/24 as he only has 1 personal card but I'm not sure the date. He's well under 50% of income. I was just worried about already holding 3 biz cards when he goes for the next one, or is there no limit?

I’m sure at some point there is a limit…lol….but it’s seems like he’s fine to apply

I did mine yesterday ill let you know when i get it feel free to tag me when you get it (to see if i need to call)
Have you received anything yet? I haven't heard a word from Delta, and it's definitely more than 72 hours.

Does anyone have DPs on if the Hilton Aspire resort credit resets on the date of original approval, statement close, or 1st of next month?
- I originally got the Aspire early 11/2019 (I didn't keep really good notes, but it was around the 2nd-7th of the month).
- I downgraded the card mid-Dec 2020 b/c of no travel
- Then upgraded back to Aspire mid-Dec 2021.

Trying to make our holiday plans now and thinking if it resets in early Nov, I'll try to use it over Thanksgiving. If it resets mid-Dec, I'll hold off and use it over Christmas/New Year.

UGH, tried for the Delta reserve, still in pop up jail, come on AMEX, cut me some slack!

Do you have any other Delta cards presently? When I got jailed for a Delta Reserve app in the past, I closed out my existing Delta Plat (older than 1 year) and about 2 weeks afterward I got two separate NLL offers where I could pick my card app from the 6 products, including the Reserve (I went for Biz Gold/Plat as both were more cost efficient).

I have one Delta card, but I've had it for 15 years, and both my kids are listed as AU for forever, (which helped their scores back then), so I am not going to close it.

Tried the Green card also, same result.
I have email offers for gold/platinum but the spends are HUGE

Hey all, I need advice on my next card. I had been thinking I would go for one of the WoH branded cards next but not sure which one or if there's something else I should consider rn. I would think the biz one if doing Hyatt.

P1. 3/24
6/21 CSR + CSP
9/21 Amex Plat
11/21 SW Biz1
12/21 SW Biz2
02/22 Amex Biz Plat

Old cards: Amex Blue Cash, Disney, Amazon

P2. 4/24
6/21 CSR + CSP
01/22 Amex Plat
12/20 Freedom Flex

Old cards: Amex Blue Cash, Disney, SW Priority, Cap1 Quicksilver

We have a good stash of MRs rn, ~375K. But much of that is destined to pay for 2023 flights to Japan and maybe Hawaii.

URs on the other hand are pretty depleted, down to about 105K. Most of those have been used through transfers to WoH (and a little PYB). Currently have 19 nights booked at Hyatts for various trips this year (Vancouver, Seattle, Denver, St. Louis, Chicago, San Francisco). This is why I was thinking a Hyatt branded card night be nice since we can get the few perks of discoverist status during those stays, plus get some Hyatt points for hotels next year. But maybe there's a card with an elevated bonus I should consider? Or maybe I should go for another Chase Biz card to build up more URs?

ETA: also a little worried that it may be too soon for another Chase app.

The Hyatt biz SUB is 75k for $7500 spend, which is the same as a CIU or CIC. But the AF is $199 compared to zero. I don't think it's worth getting unless you're going for elite nights. $10k spend gets you 5 elite nights.

Discoverist or Explorist doesn't gets you much. Globalist is great, but not that easy to get to. The Hyatt biz will be part of my strategy to get to Globalist again if we end up close.

The SUB on the personal Hyatt isn't great at the moment, but it's been that way for awhile. That card gets you 5 elite nights every year (just for having the card). Plus 2 elite nights for every $5000 spend and a FNC for $15k. You also get an annual FNC. It's a nice card to hold long term.

Take a look at the Milestone awards too when deciding if you want elite nights. 30 nights will get you a Cat 1-4 FNC, but keep in mind it expires in 180 days unlike most of the other FNC that expires in a year.

If you can meet the spend what about a CIC or CIU…the bonus is 75,000 URs for a $7,500…..using a support link for P1/P2 nets another 20k URs

Sigh, yeah, I would like the personal Hyatt card and would keep it long term but the SUB isn't too attractive and it'll burn a 5/24 slot with more than a year to go before I my CSR/CSP apps last June drop out of the count. Discoverist gets us 2 pm check out which can be nice... yeah, it's nothing lol

Might still go for the Hyatt card and will think it over, but it's looking like it makes more sense to do CIU/CIC, no? And hopefully the personal Hyatt will get a a little love from Chase down the line
