Best way to get to hotel from SNA

We are flying into SNA on Monday afternoon and staying at the Tropicana. Our travel agent suggested Uber/Lyft but with luggage is that really our easiest option?! Any other suggestions. We will also need to get back to the airport on Friday.

I looked into Sunny's transportation, which is a shuttle service. I ended up renting a car, but they get good reviews. I know there's another one people like but I can't think of the name right now. Hopefully someone else does :)

Uber/Lyft is the easiest for a party of adults or big kids.

If you need one or more car seats, Uber/Lyft can be a monster headache.
We don't need any carseats. Kids are 11 and 17. I just didn't know if they could handle 2- 3 suitcases! Plus 4 people.

We have found that the cabs from SNA are easier and take less time than getting Uber/Lyft. They are always right there waiting. I usually check the uber/lyft prices and wait time as we are walking toward the taxi stand, and we almost always end up taking the taxi. We do take Uber/Lyft back to the airport. Our last trip, I just booked it on the app the day before and they showed up right on time.

Better, cheaper, fasterr...pick two

I am typically a huge Uber fan but have been let down quite a few times at SNA. My past few pickup times have been 10-20 min waits for cars and last trip was only $30 plus tip...but have had quite a few surgeries pricing trips that were $50-70. It is also now a bit more of a hike to get to get to the ridesahre pickup area.

Taxis are typically on standby and right at the passenger pickup area and as noted above usually about $45 plus tip...and often there are mini vans if you have a larger party.

Now we duck out and juts grab a cab...if none are there or there is a line we keep going for the ridersahre area and call an Uber.

Going back Uber is usually faster than a taxi to come pick you up.

Several threads have mentioned Lansky's car service. I have not used this service before so I cannot speak to its services. The driver will reportedly meet you in baggage and then help you with bags, etc. It will be more expensive than a cab or ride share vehicles. This service also offers a grocery stop too, if you desire one.

I would agree that getting a taxi is probably the easiest way at the airport, and is reasonably price competitive. going back to the airport, uber or lyft.
alternatively... rental car.

We took a Yellow Cab from SNA to DGC last Friday. $44 flat rate, walked right up, no waiting. Fast direct ride.

Anyone have any experience using boosters with taxis? I was just planning to use a taxi to get to our hotel, since it was just me and my granddaughter, who is 9 and is both old enough and tall enough to not have to use the booster.
But right now it looks like my two other granddaughters, and their other grandma may be joining us. (It will be an epic granddaughter/granny trip!, no parents allowed, staying up late and treats galore!)
Hopefully anyway, will find out next week, if it's going to work out, depends on how invested my daughter in law is on being at their 1st Disney trip)
My other grandchildren are 5 and 7, and will need boosters. I can bring boosters, are cabs ok with that? Also with 5 people, are there many of the minivan cabs available, usually.
If we do a car service, is it far to where they pick up? Not comfortable with Uber really, at least not with my grandkids, I've had ok experiences with Uber and times where I wondered who taught them to drive. So for myself, ok. I've had better experiences with the car services, although pricier. We would have 3 suitcases, probably a duffle with the boosters and 3 kids to keep track f, so don't want to have to go far for pick up.

Honestly... with that group and needing an UberXL (more $) I would just walk out and get a yellow cab. The cabs all have GIANT trunks or they will put you in a mini van cab. They are right outside and waiting.

Second this.

Grab a cab. No need to wait or fuss.

Yes, have used boosters. You have to provide and properly restrain the passenger in the booster yourself. Recommend a mifold (https://mifold.com/). Portable and safe when used correctly.

Anybody have the same cab experience at Long Beach? We have three adults and two teens flying into LGB in May... I just assumed we would use UberXL but perhaps a yellow cab minivan would be the better option to DLR.

I do plan on advanced booking UberXL for the return to LGB.

Upon seeing those same recommendations, I used Lansky's for my February trip. Driver came in to pick up the luggage with us at baggage claim, which is a nice touch that they don't do back home for us. Price was reasonable for that kind of service, but would recommend doing a cash gratuity rather than putting it on the card, as there seemed to be an issue with communicating that the gratuity was paid to the drivers.
