WDW to prevent AP holders from visiting parks many mornings

A company can't manipulate demand. They can only manipulate supply.
Well, I’m not an economist major, but I do know the basics. “Demand” is harder to manipulate, but can be done over time. “Quantity demanded” can be done very easily. Raise the price to 10k for an AP, and quantity demanded will fall.
Close all “E ticket” attractions and demand will fall.

Sounds like a nice relaxing vacation!
Disney has long since stopped being a relaxing vacation for me. To be honest, that was by choice and my FOMO attitude given I can only go once a year. At least in the past if I hit the wall, I could just chill out by the pool for a morning and do what I felt like later on. Lately it's becoming a logistical nightmare to plan a Disney vacation. I really sympathise with 1st timers.

Me too! Type A problems I guess.

I don’t mind the planning (I kind of enjoy it to be honest) but it would be nice that once you get there things were pretty much done. The way things are trending the entire vacation could be spent on your phone stressing out with virtual queue, ILL, Genie+ and now park hopping reservations (maybe).

For those that took ME prior to covid19, remember the feeling when you checked in your yellow tagged luggage at your home airport? Sigh. That is the feeling I want when I arrive...

I miss the resort airline check-in even more. Check the bags, get boarding pass, leave carry-ons with bell services and go about the rest of the day. Go straight to TSA at the airport.

Now it's check everything with bell services, go about your day but add extra time for the airport. Join the madness for tagging luggage at the airline desk then get in line to check it through.

Just another memory of a perk that made staying at a Disney resort so worthwhile.

This was one of the biggest losses I feel, with 3 small kids it was a blessing to drop your bags at the check-in at the Airport on the way down and not have to worry about them till you got to the resort. I think we spend 45 minutes waiting for our luggage at MCO this April to get our checked bags.

I don't like the planning required so we mostly go to Disneyland where planning isn't required.

One of my DISer friends misses that a lot too. We didn't use it the one time we stayed on site but I can absolutely see the benefit to it.

MCO is such a strange airport IMO, you could have a long security wait or a shorter one. When we were there in May the DISer couple that lives in Orlando was giving us a heads up that their family leaving that day had security of 1 1/2 hours in the morning, by the time we went through about 12 hours later it was 13-17mins (we waited less than 10mins). Of course that's not just MCO but I just find there more instances of hearing about crazy times at MCO followed by really big lulls. And when we did the self-tag kiosks at SWA it was a bit disorganized the line (well there wasn't even a line just a jumble of people) and they didn't have any Priority Access lane open either for luggage.

Why yes, yes I do.

Security waits vary wildly everywhere, and it's completely unpredictable. It can also change quickly, going from no line to an hour wait in a matter of minutes.

I definitely agree about the SWA self-tagging kiosks at MCO.....it's really poorly arranged. They desperately need to come up with some other way to set that up. It's often a mob scene there, and even when several are open you can't even get to them.

That is very true although I'll count my blessings that my home airport tends to stay low and even keeled but that could change next year when the single terminal new one opens up (I really am not looking forward to the security aspect).

That's exactly what happened to us, big group hovered around one of the kiosks towards the entrance of the area which took over several kiosks and then it was difficult to get to ones that were open because of that group plus other groups. If felt disorganized. Having that check in at the resorts I can totally see being a big difference to people especially when you're considering staying onsite.

absolutely this. this was a HUGE time AND money saver (less time in the parks means what time you ARE in the parks essentially costs more).

Has anyone heard of ANY resorts near disney that offer this? I would seriously consider staying off property to get this since Disney doesn't care about perks for guests anymore

Yes, I hope the rumor is not true. It is a terrible change for local passholders.
Having enjoyed WDW for the past 8 days (except being stuck on the people mover during the recent storm), I’m out of the loop…

has this rumor been confirmed?

I think time based tickets are the future. Hopefully my tickets I have in my account now would be grandfathered in if such took place.
