D23 Expo September 9-11, 2022 Superthread **Updates in Posts 2 & 3**

So… the no queuing before 4:30am is not being enforced. Sigh. I got down here at 4:10 just to scope out the scene and there’s a line going west down Karelia all the way to S West / Disneyland Drive.

Going to be severely annoyed if they said absolutely no queuing before 4:30 and then I don’t get any shot at standby into Marvel because hundreds got here (I’m guessing) well before 4. Probably at midnight or earlier.
I was fully prepared to turn around and wait back at my hotel if they were enforcing the rules but decided to come a bit early in case they weren’t. Looks like a few hundred of my friends had the same (earlier) idea.

Btw, I know it’s a long-shot but if anyone here ends up with a +1 RSP for the Marvel panel that will be unused, I’d be eternally grateful.

Well despite playing by the rules, the standby queue for Marvel filled before I could get down here by several minutes. (Maybe more). Unfortunate they didn’t follow their own rules.

Soooo I underestimated how much space the 3 dolls I bought would take up. How much does the fedex hilton charge? Any other advice appreciated.I thought about buying another luggage but it literally only fits one.

Not sure what rate will be, but if u want to compare westin anaheim has a ups store.

Amyone go to d23 expo emporium or disney store Hollywood? What items do they have?

I don’t gl into the Hollywood store but from the outside passing by while leaving last night they had LE pins as well as a few small collections of clothing and possibly some home goods. It’s a small shop.

I got 10 as a boarding number for d23 MoG but also wanted to hit the 10am panel… not sure that one is going to work out either. 1/3 so far on VQ. >_<

I got marketplace boarding grp 81 originally 320 minutes. Those who had 320 estimated minutes for marketplace for the 6 am session what time did it let you in? Im going to marvel panel today. Hopefully 29th century goes last so i can skip that part if it came down to it

Woke up at 330 am and was nowhere near getting into marvel/lucasfilm. Definitely a con low.

Same. Although I think I only missed it by minutes. Very frustrating. If you say no queuing before 4:30, enforce it. Otherwise, don’t say it.

Oh well. Next time, I think I either win the Sorcerer / Preferred lottery up front or I think I just skip it. Everything is a line, which is fine, but when you get to the end of the line, there’s nothing left (panels or shopping). Event just doesn’t seem scaled right to the number of attendees.

Its really fast at mickeys of glendale. There was a section of muppets. One shop section el captain stuff. 70 years imagiining. I was kinda disappointed in that shop and felt it was a wasted venue pick for me.

For those that are saying marvel is capped did u try reaching out to them saying why rules were being broken?

I heard that they only had 216 wristbands to give out to the standby....the rest were for private invites, media, preferred, and the lottery.

Your going to be called back at soon as it opens up. Both MOG main shop and the main expo marketplace we’re calling groups quickly while the big panels were going on.

Getting ready to head down now. Have group 42 for limited edition expo marketplace which will hopefully not be calmed until either the movies panel ends or as it’s getting close to ending.

Tried for a 1pm VQ and struck out entirely. Hopefully I can get something tomorrow if there is no standby for them!

Dang do u think i should try to change to a different vendor? I don't want to miss marvel and i hope its the first thing shown. Were they nice yesterday if u miss boarding grp time and still honored it?

So I’m in one huge line that is supposedly for literally everything but Marvel. Feels wrong.. is everyone else in the same boat? I was shooting for the archive stage (and not being stuck for hours outside trying to get in).
