Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB RESORTS Information & Questions

My rule of thumb on taking the boat versus walking is that if the boat is waiting at the YC dock or approaching the dock, then we'll take it. The boat to HS comes from the Boardwalk, so you can see that it will be at the YC dock soon. But when we want to get to Hollywood Studios early, then we almost always walk because then we have control of when we get there. :)

When we are staying at the Beach Club and have a room that is close to the Epcot side of the resort then we almost always walk to HS. We take the bridge to Boardwalk and then cut through the BW main pool because it is shorter than walking past the YC boat dock when our room is near Epcot. But if we are walking out the BC lobby door, I don't think it matters too much.

I am wondering how often resort reservations are reloaded into the system when folks cancel or change dates?
I currently have a rack rate booked for my 3/29-4/5 trip, and would, of course, really rather get the AP or 25% off discount that is running at that time...

If someone cancels, do those dates go back into the availability bucket right away, or does it take a while and they load them only at certain times of the day?

I've been checking multiple times a day, but so far - nothing... 😒

Just wanted to give a quick update on my post yesterday concerning the Resort fun runs! I was going to reply to myself but I didn't want to be accused of talking to myself. :duck:Per my sources, there was indeed a fun run this morning at The Boardwalk. It was free, with simply a bib and water available to all participants. Not sure of the distance but it has typically been in the 1.5 mile range, give or take of few tenths of a mile. It's open to all resort guests regardless of where you're staying. Obviously, for this particular event there's an advantage to the Epcot Resort guests. There is no telling if this will open up at other resorts but would assume it would at some point. Also, whether it will remain free with the simple concept of just the bib and water or maybe go back to the fee based entry with resort specific giveaways.

So, is the walk from YC to HS the longest out of the 3 Disney hotels right there? I suppose a few extra minutes of walking won't kill us...maybe. lol At least we can take the boat to save some steps if we need to.

One reason I chose YC over BC is that I heard the bus picks up at YC first and then goes to BC. Easier to get on the bus at YC? If Swolfin guests walk over, which bus stop do they use most?

If I stay at the Swan or Dolphin I usually only walk over to the Boardwalk if I want to catch the MK bus (because the Swan/Dolphin bus drops you off at TTC). I guess if I were going to walk to YC or BC I'd go to YC because it's closer.

For AK I just use the Swan/Dolphin bus. On the way home from a park I choose between Yacht/Beach and Boardwalk depending on which bus arrives first or has the shortest line.

Happy Saturday everyone! This is probably a dumb question, but I didn't find an answer when I searched so I figured I'd ask all of you. I'm heading to the YC in three days, and since I'm only bringing carry-on bags I was thinking if I bought something big at FARTs, or bought too much to fit in my bags on the way home, I'd just ship it home from the YC. So I went to the Disney website to verify this can still be done I see that they will ship pre-packed items or if they have a business center it looks like they may ship items that aren't pre-packed (not 100% clear on the site). Am I correct in assuming that if there is a business center they will ship items that I haven't already boxed up and since the YC has a conference center am I correct in assuming they also have a business center?

Thank you all!

The last two times I have been at FARTS (2021 and 2022) and have bought large art items, they have shipped them directly from the point of sale. They also shipped if your total came out to a certain amount or more. I’m not sure if the business centers are back up and running, but if they are, yes, they will ship things.

That's what we've done too. We bought a couple Jim Shore pieces that were in huge boxes last year when we were there, I just had them shipped from the shop I bought them in.

Disney has partnered with RICOH to operate their business centers. There is one at the YC, located in the convention center area. There's a hallway to the convention center accessible from the lobby just past bell services.
It's open M - F from 9 - 5. Based on the website description [attached] it appears they will prepare and ship unboxed items. I've attached a link for your reference which also has contact information you can try for a specific questions.
Hope it works out for you!

I don't have experience shipping artwork but I bought a Spaceship Earth cookie jar in May and the gift shop that's attached to YC quick service restaurant was able to pack and ship it home for me for something like $5. It wasn't prepacked, I just handed it to them and it arrived safe and sound a few days after we got home.

Hi! Here now and loving ir!! Question about pool and day visitors: 7 members of my family are staying at GF.

Can they come to SAB if I get them day passes?

Bell services guy told me to just bring them to the pool and “usually they will let your guests in too” but I then called front desk (which is a main Disney line not the actual front desk) to confirm and they said they asked the back office which said no visitors at SAB.

So I am not sure what to tell my family. Any advice?

My son wants to swim with his cousins and they’ll be right next door at Epcot tomorrow.

Yeah, I have agree that they are usually very strict with SAB. They usually check MB of every member of party, even children, to make sure they are all staying at hotel. I think a better idea might be to have them come over and meet you for lunch at Beaches & Cream. There is also a takeout ice cream window right outside the pool. Or meet at Hurricane Hannah’s. The bar/restaurant is right at the pool, but is outside the fence (I’m pretty sure—someone please verify).

They will sometimes give a day pass for an extra guest or grandparents watching the kids. But to ask for 7 people to swim at the most popular pool on property, just seems wrong & very unfair to paying guests, IMO. Head to a water park if you want to all swim together.

Or just go swim at the swan or dolphin lol huge

Pretty sure the bell services guy gave you false info considering they wouldn’t allow my 3-year old niece in without her MB when the other six of us had ours (and during slower season). Her dad had to run back to the room and get it to prove that she wasn’t actually staying at another resort by herself while the rest of the family were guests of Beach Club. The only way to ensure they will be allowed in would be to place them on your reservation and to do that you would need a room large enough to accommodate the seven of them along with your group. A day pass for seven extra seems extremely unlikely. I agree with the poster who suggested you all go to one of the water parks. That would be fun for all the kids.

When we stayed last August we met up on our Epcot day with close friends staying at a Disney Springs Hotel. When we left Epcot they came with us to Yacht club and the kids wanted to swim. We just told the lady giving out the wrist bands they were with us and she gave them all wrist bands ( family of 5) Guess it depends on your luck?

Why do people think it’s okay to use facilities (ie SAB) that you haven’t paid for? @val1234 your friends should have stayed at YC/BC if they wanted to use the facilities there. SAB has many posted signs that it’s for guests of the resort only, not the guests of guests. People using the pool without actually staying at the hotel are why SAB is fenced up like Fort Knox. @DisneyFave please go to the water park with the cousins, that way you don’t risk being turned away, and you set a good example for all the kids that honesty is the best policy.

If I was staying at the Grand Floridian then I wouldn't want to go through the trouble of trying to get into SAB. The Grand Floridian has two wonderful pools, one of which has a slide. And both of them have bar service. :)

If you want to get YC/BC lovers riled up, just mention trying to get 7 unregistered guests into SAB. Them's fightin' words. ;)
