Ugh, so sorry! I typically use Bonnie when buying at Fidelity, but the contracts I was considering offering on were through Shawn. She was very kind, and I appreciated her honest answers. It really sounds like Fidelity agents honestly thought Cammy was ready to take on Aulani, but that they literally had just found out it was not going to work out for the time being. Thankfully it does seem ROFR is going lightening fast, so hopefully you’ll get your answer soon! 😅
FYI, it doesn’t matter who the listing agent is. You can email all your offers through Bonnie. That’s what I did.

Took a full week to get Fidelity to get the closing docs correct after the seller and I came to agreement on the price. I did get them to waive their $225 admin fee at least. Just hoping that our lady is still napping!

Cassie K---$110.5-$24686-200-BWV-Aug-0/21, 185/22, 200/23, 200/24- sent 3/10

My first contract 😊 SO excited!! Thanks to this board and particularly this thread for giving me the courage to go in with a low offer and get a deal that we’re really happy with.

UPDATE:

AstroBlasters---$235-$49680-200-VGC-Feb-0/22, 390/23, 200/24, 200/25- sent 3/7, passed 3/10

I’m not even sure what to say. I can’t believe they are passing this fast!
Whoa. The world is going to need a lot more closing agents and title companies if this flood gate stays open. Congratulations and welcome home neighbor. Purchasing VGC feels much more exhilarating than buying any other resorts.

A couple of bummers I found out during a phone chat with Shawn at fidelity yesterday…

I was potentially going to offer on two Aulani contracts from the same seller. In the good ol days, closing costs could be combined. Shawn said that Disney now is asking for them to be separate closing costs. Not sure how long this has been the case, but definitely not fun when it comes to Aulani closing costs. 😵‍💫

The other bummer involved using Mason with Cammy for Aulani resale. I guess they thought everything was set to go for Cammy to be able to close these, but Shawn said they’ve run into problems with Hawaii’s requirements. So Mason/Cammy isn’t a possibility for Aulani.

…Just thought I’d share in case anyone else is having the same ponderings…
I was told the same thing by Fidelity.

So I did two things. First I called Disney’s QA team and was told the opposite - they are not requiring that.

Second call I made was to Fidelity’s senior manager.

Proceeded with contracts combined into one closing.

Magic.

It’s called “make a story so we can collect multiple admin fees”. Same old Fidelity BS.

I am currently in the closing doc process and my question to you is when did you wire or send a cashiers check to the title company. After you signed or after the seller signed?
I send the wire when I sign. It's not like I can't get it back. The money is sitting in the bank account of a licensed and regulated title company. It's not like it's getting sent to the seller the minute the title company receives it. They have a statutory fiduciary responsibility under Florida law.

As an aside, I just got the email from Mason containing my title insurance policy. Just closed yesterday, and the deed recorded this morning.

I tried that recently but was told they now prefer you to use that particular listing agent. 🤷🏼‍♀️ Was your purchase recent?
I have had the same experience. This is her response from a similar question I just asked yesterday. "Each listing agent works with their own listings.
Take care,Shawn"

Yes, I recently relocated points online, works as you described. One major catch that should be fairly obvious, the 11 versus 7 status of the original reservation still applies to your modification. So if you booked at day BCV at 9 months, then bought another BCV contract, you could reallocate the points yourself online with no risk of losing the reservation. If you buy VB points and try to modify this reservation within 7 months, that contract will be blocked out in the reallocation step and in order to use would require the risk of cancelling and rebooking.
Thanks for the corrections on this. Now that I think about it, it may have been that I was using two different memberships to rebook, so yeah, had to cancel one, then book with the other. Sorry for the misleading info.

On another note, 3 days to pass ROFR? We are in the end of times.

Sounds like they thought Cammy was all set to do Aulani contracts, but that it didn’t work out for now.

I saw that which is why I asked for clarification from Shawn before making offers. I really don’t want to deal with First American again. 🫣🤦🏼‍♀️
I used TRCS for one of my Aulani closings recently - they were much faster than First american and I got closing docs within a week. My other 2 Aulani have been with first american and one took 3 weeks to get closing docs after a few follow ups and then I finally learned they are backed up and short staffed so I haven't even pursued the one that passed on 2/23 yet - not in a hurry on that one and will just wait until they get to it.

I am currently in the closing doc process and my question to you is when did you wire or send a cashiers check to the title company. After you signed or after the seller signed?
I send my funds as soon as I sign... I want them to be there so that they can close ASAP once the seller gets everything back rather than having to wait again for me to wire the funds. Not really doing much for me sitting in a checking account waiting and not really worried about getting it back if the deal falls apart... but everyone is different...
