Planning for December 2018 - any big difference between weeks?

I am looking at 4 nights, likely a Monday and leaving Friday in December next year. Is there any big difference in crowds or things going on between the first week of December or the second week?

We are DVC so the points cost is the same for the room, I believe you can use the gold Annual Pass for both weeks before the black out period.

Is there anything i should add in to help make my decision? any events that draw bigger crowds one week over another? or are both weeks about the same?

I was going to consider the week after thanksgiving but i am guessing that flights right after the holiday will be higher.

Pop Warner will be there during one of those, and the possibility of free dining would impact the other. The closer you get to Christmas, the busier it gets, so earlier rather than later would be my choice.

I always go the Tuesday after Thanksgiving and stay for 9-10 nights, which was November 28th-December8th this year. The parks seemed a lot more crowded than in previous years. I went to MVMCP on December 1st, which was sold out, and it was horribly crowded. I didn't see roving packs of kids so I don't know if Pop Warner had anything to do with it or not. I don't think it would make much difference which week you choose.

I am not sure if you fly to WDW or not, but if you do do you find that the flights are reasonable on that Tuesday after thanksgiving? I know the prices are high around a holiday so wondering if there is still some residual hike in flights.

There was no slow time in December this year. Hard to say if it was an anomaly this year or not, or if it'll go back to being less crowded next year. I doubt it.

We got there on the 12th and left last night. Big difference from Friday the 15th to Monday the 18th. Large increase of crowds in the park.

I went right after Thanksgiving - and interestingly - for my plane route - it didn't matter which of those three weeks I flew - price was the same.

Pick the week you want. This year - the week after Thanksgiving - there were the standard party nights at MK - AND MK closed early one night that week for a CM event. So - MK was REALLY busy on the Monday night it had evening EMH and it was the only night I could see HEA. (Note - about 30 minutes into the EMH's that night - the park was great!)

BUT - beyond that one night of craziness at MK I had to endure to see the fireworks - it was just a "standard" busy IMO - not overly crowded - but not super light.

I fly Southwest and I got a very reasonable price for my ticket. The price is similar to the cost of my flight in March of this year. What I have found with Southwest is that the cost of flying on a Tuesday is much less than flying on Monday. I work weekends so I don't know what the cost is for a Saturday or Sunday. I think flights tend to be higher on a Monday because it's the beginning of a workweek.

Whenever you go, at some point during your trip you'll ask (perhaps out loud): Aren't any of these people supposed to be at work or school????:earboy2:
